This experience went far beyond a regular cooking class — it truly felt like being welcomed into Satomi’s world. From the handcrafted yuzu welcome drink to the beautifully arranged sushi ingredients, every detail was filled with care and intention. Satomi shared so much about Japanese culture, food philosophy, and everyday life that I left not only full, but deeply inspired. I’ve taken many cooking classes while traveling, but none have felt this personal or memorable. If you want to experience the heart of Japanese hospitality and connection through food, this is the class to book!

She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable from the beginning. We really enjoyed the grocery visit where she showed us common Japanese ingredients. The sushi making was very fun and hands on, allowing more individuality than other cooking classes I’ve done, which we really enjoyed. Satomi also went out of her way to show us other traditional Japanese foods alongside the sushi making. I would absolutely recommend this class

She made us special yuzu welcome drinks, generously offered us different sake’s to go with our sushi, and even gave us little gifts to take home — way beyond expectations and more than I’ve experienced from other cooking classes when I travel! My group left extremely full and satisfied. I also really enjoyed being shown around the market as well prior to class (which is more rare to find) and all of our conversations around food, culture, and her culinary knowledge etc. The sushi we made was amazing and should be easy to replicate at home :) Thanks for an amazing experience, Satomi!
