First we got picked up at the hotel, which was in the local kind of tuktuk that Chiang Mai has. Practical and fun! After the market trip where the host explains the ingredients we will use in cooking, we were brought to a nice farm with a well equipped outdoor area with kitchen stations. The hosts help us through all the steps including making the curry paste, cutting the ingredients for our chosen dishes, and heat management of our dishes. With good results! Super fun day.

We loved being able to select the dishes we wanted to learn how to cook. The staff were so attentive to how we were doing and adjusting our techniques. Amazing how they were able to juggle all of us doing different dishes, and making it fun!

I really enjoyed learning about the ingredients and how we bring them all together. My wife and I went into this wanting to learn how to cook Thai food from scratch and cooking in high heat, this class delivered in every way. Highly recommend doing this class when you are in Chiang Mai.

The staff were extremely warm and friendly. The market experience was great because we got to see all the various ingredients used in Thai cooking. The class was organized, flowed well, and allowed you to cook you own food for the most part. I have been to some cooking classes where I was not allowed to use a flame or handle hot pans. I was thrilled that I got to play with the hot wok, as a very experienced cook. If you are unsure about this activity, don't hesitate! You will love it, and you will meet other people from around the world. Thank you to this team for making our vacation to Chiang Mai special!

Love how we got to choose the dishes we wanted to make! They were very organized with the flow for prepping our individual dishes. The head chef and assistants were super personable and attentive. I opted for gluten-free, pescatarian substitutes and they were able to accommodate this! I'm very pleased with the experience.

Friendly staff will provide you with expert information about the ingredients of Thai cuisine at a fantastic market just outside Chiang Mai. You'll be welcomed in a beautiful setting with your own herb garden and a beautifully decorated outdoor cooking school. Everything is perfectly organized, and each dish is equally delicious. Finally, you'll receive a digital copy of all the recipes at the end.

We were really happy to have booked this Thai Cooking Class. Both of us are vegan and the 5 dishes were easily adaptable to our needs and very delicious. Moreover, Paint explained a lot about the ingredients and what we can use as alternatives in vegan Thai cooking. In our class we were only three people, which made it very comfy and not stressful at all. Everything, starting from getting picked up in the morning, the farmer‘s market, cooking and driving us home was well organized. Thank you so much for this experience!

We did a cookery class when in Chiang Mai 10 years ago and enjoy it so much booked onto do another. This experience did not disappoint. The visit to the market was interesting and the class was really well run and organised. We had a wide range of choices to cook 5 dishes which we then ate so I suggested going on an empty stomach! It was lovely to meet up with other people from around the world to share this amazing experience. I would recommend 100%.

Great mix of cooking and fun!

We were picked up on time for the market visit, followed by a tour of the garden before the cooking began. The course included pick-up and drop-off at our accommodation. Compared to other cooking courses in Thailand/Southeast Asia, however, this one felt a bit too hectic and impersonal. We were divided into two van groups (about 10 per van) and assigned dishes to cook simultaneously/one after the other. Much of the food was already prepared, leaving little room for hands-on work (understandable given the number of dishes; however, we cooked a similar amount of food at a different pace, but with a different level of quality, and did a bit more chopping ourselves. Nevertheless, respect is due for the organization and execution with the various helpers for such a large group, but the way it was run wasn't to our taste). A minor point: upon arrival, we went straight into the garden; there was no offer to leave our belongings beforehand. Photos were taken periodically, which were then sent to us via WhatsApp along with the recipes. The drop-off point for five of us wasn't directly at the hotel, but a bit further away (an 11-minute walk for us). We only received this information shortly before departure, when we were already in the car (if I understood correctly, because the gate was closed?). All in all, and in comparison, unfortunately only 3 points.

Trustworthy booking platform. We were picked up fom our hotel and got to choose 1 appetizer, 3 meals and 1 dessert. The cooking class starts with a short trip to a local market where nong pin (host) told us about some ingredients. We learned a lot and had time to explore the market by ourselves. It was nice to see where locals buy their stuffs. The variety of foods and snacks was great as well. Then we were brought to the farm where we picked our ingredients. Cooking went smoothly and fast too with the help of the staffs. Alltogether the atmosphere was very familiar because the staffs get along very well.

The class was great! It was so nice having a choice of which dishes we make and they were super accommodating to my vegetarian diet. Would definitely recommend this class!

The owner Ploy and her team were very authentic. The cooking class itself was my highlight. It was organized nicely. Ploy was very helpful during the class. She takes many pictures so you can remeber. I think you don‘t need to be very advanced in cooking. But for me personally i struggled with the Wok. But the team helped me so it was fine.

More than the preparation of the dishes I learned some techniques and use of ingredients that I can apply back home, even with different ingredients to achieve similar taste It was a full experience. Ploy is a businesswoman and a great teacher Thanks for a wonderful afternoon

Market visit is reallY good, had experiences which we could not do bY ourselves cooking how to was good. other guests are so friendly that we have good friendahip together. and they could take much care for who dont like hot and spicy food. do not worry about that!

Overall we had a great experience at Baan - got to go to a smaller market with a local, do some picking from the farm and then put it all towards our choice of some amazing dishes with guidance. The facility was quaint and clean, and we really enjoyed learning about Thai cuisine from Paint! He was kind and accommodating to us. Amazing experience!

Beyond exceptions. I would never believe learning so much about Thai cooking in a such short period of time: 5 dishes, products, herbs and everything you need to know to reproduce the experience at home. The team is amazing, and the place (a bit outside Chang Mia) is beautiful. I shared this moment with my son (10y) and he loved it as well.

We were only two people in the class, so we had all attention on us. On the market and in the own garden it was very interesting to learn about many ingredients for Thai food. Cooking went very quick, so our meals were still warm for eating. It was very delicious; the taste was so fresh. The guides were very nice and spoke good English. Also, they easily adopted to us being vegetarians which is not always do easy in Thailand.

Very good experience, we highly recommend it! We greatly appreciated our cooking teacher and all his team who took care of us. We were lucky to have a great group (countries: America, Scotland, France) with whom we were able to exchange, and have a great time.

We had a great experience at the Baan Farm cooking school. Pant picked us up from our hotel and took us to a market outside the old city. He explained the ingredients we would be using. We each chose 5 dishes from a list and we cooked all 5 of our choices. The whole experience was really well organized, friendly and fun. The teachers were great and easy to understand. Make sure you go with an appetite and an empty stomach!!Highly recommended!!

Jippee picked us up from our hotel in Chiang Mai and after a very informative tour in the market, took us to the farm to cook. This was one of my all-time favorite experiences and have already recommended to several people I’ve met in Thailand. Ploy has curated a wonderful tour of the market visit where you get to try a few treats, then you get to her farm where you pick herbs and small veggies. Lastly you choose your menu (dietary restrictions are easily accommodated) and cook easy to do recipes that are extremely delicious- you will not go hungry! Making the curry paste was a highlight. The cooking class was great, starting with the market tour and the fresh ingredients picking at the farm, and then the class itself: the instructions were great, and we ACTUALLY COOKED (in some other classes you just assist someone or do very little other than clean and cut veggies). Paint, Plow and the whole Baan Farm team were very welcoming and made sure we had a good time. And most importantly, the food was delicious (and very generous!) we all cooked 5 dishes, that you can chose in every category: 1 appetizer, 1 soup, 1 curry (+make your curry paste), 1 stir fried and 1 dessert. Must-do if you stay in Chiang Mai. You first begin with a local market where you taste and discover Thai fruits and specialties. After you go to the farm where you pick your ingredients then you learn and cook and finally, you eat/taste all your dishes! The special touch is the good mood of our guests and the memories/pictures done during the activity!

Wir wurden von Poy im Hotel abgeholt und starteten mit einem Besuch auf einem Lokalen Markt. Wir durften Obst testen und sie zeigte uns welche frische Zutaten wir für die Gerichte benötigen die wir kochen werden und was wir für die Zukunft gut kaufen können. Als wir auf der Farm ankamen, bekamen wir einen Sonnenhut und einen Korb und pflückten frische Kräuter und Gemüse. Dann starteten wir mit unseren Gerichten. Poy konnte uns alle Schritte in einem gut verständlichen Englisch erklären und die Gerichte waren köstlich. Wir können den Kurs jedem von Herzen nur empfehlen.

From beginning to end, everything was wonderful. We were picked up from our hotel and explored a local market. After that, we went to the farm where we picked the herbs that we needed for our cooking. Then, the cooking began! We made five delicious courses with the help of the chef. His guidance, hospitality, and friendliness made our day (apart from the eating of our ‘homemade’ food!).

We loved our cooking class experience with Paint! Communication and pickup were smooth, he was knowledgeable and inviting, and the food was delicious. You get to choose 5 dishes each, so between my and my husband’s choices, plus the generous sharing of dishes between other members of our group, we got to try so many yummy authentic dishes. We were able to take away leftovers and got recipes so we’ll be cooking these at home for years! Going to the market and picking fresh ingredients on their little farm was fun and helped us understand the layers of flavor that go into Thai dishes better. We had a wonderful time at the Baan Farm Thai cooking school! First, we visited an original Thai market and learned so much about Thai food, the local fruits and vegetables! At the farm, we picked the fresh ingredients ourselves and learned how to cook them in Thai style. Everybody could choose 5 different dishes (there were vegan/vegetarian options for every dish). The whole cooking class was very well planned and timed. Everything was so delicious and we learned a lot! The leftovers were packed as takeaway and they even picked you up (and dropped you off) at your hostel. We can highly recommend this cooking class and would do it again anytime!

I had the best time cooking lovely dishes. The ingredients were fresh, the process was simple and accessible. The result was stunning! I read a review about the class being a bit rushed, I do not think that was the case at all! We had plenty of time to cook and enjoy our meals. The cooking class was just great! The guide was super open-minded. It was super fun to learn about the individual ingredients and cook with them at the end. Dishes were easy to make. Enough dishes to choose from. The portions are large enough. Little remark: Sometimes a bit too hasty especially towards the end.

Ploy is one of the best teachers I ever had. I was also here four years ago and I knew that when I would return to Chiang Mai, I had to go back to Baan Farm Cooking school. From the market tour, were you will taste amazing local fruit, to picking the fresh herbs and the cooking class, everything is perfect! Would recommend everybody who wants to learn authentic Thai dishes in a fun and cool way!!

This was a great experience! - we started by visiting a local food market. It was outside of city center, so it was not crowded. Our Chef showed us differences between most popular herbs. We could also taste local fruts. - every participant can select 5 dishes to cook. My and my wife have selected different one, so we had a chance to cook and taste 10 different things! - we have allergy for gluten and we were able to prepared ALL means in Gluten free versions! - the food was very good and our Chef was super friendly and super helpfull!

We had such a great time baan farm Thai cooking school. We first went to the market where we tried some local snacks and fruits. We learnt about the different herbs we would be using that day. And then we went to the farm where we picked our own herbs. After that we started cooking, we cooked so many dishes. It was very well planned and super informative. We really loved the experience and the food was fantastic!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a cooking class led by Pent and his sister Ploy, who not only exceeded my culinary expectations but also went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies. First and foremost, we need to thank Pent, our driver and market tour guide. His deep knowledge, understanding, and empathy toward food allergies were immediately apparent. They were well-prepared to cater to diverse dietary needs, ensuring that everyone in the class felt safe and comfortable. The level of care and attention they demonstrated was truly commendable.

Ich wurde sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen. Eine tolle Führung über den Markt bei dem ich ein paar Dinge probieren durfte :) Das kochen hat super Spaß gemacht, gute Anleitung und Organisation. Auch für Kochanfänger super geeignet. Ich habe einiges über die traditionelle thailändische Küche gelernt. Currypaste selbst zubereitet. The host was sweet and helpful while the activities, market, picking fresh herbs from the garden and cooking was a delight. Don’t worry if you have never cooked before this class does many of the prep work for you. My favourite part besides eating was smashing up my own curry paste.

I always thought making Thai food from scratch would be a challenge but Poy made it look so easy and now I’m more confident than ever in my ability to make spring rolls, tom kha, and khao soi. I really walked away from this cooking class feeling like I learned delicious recipes that I’m going to make dozens of times

I was the only person because it is kind of slow season, but the host turned it into a private class basically. The market was a fun basic look at ingredients, the farm was interesting and the cooking instruction was top notch. I could barely eat all the food.

Learnt a lot about Thai ingredients in the first part of this course and then applied that knowledge during the cooking stage. Five courses is a lot, but means learning how to make a wide variety of dishes. They let you take it away in a box if you can’t finish it all!

We really liked the atmosphere on the farm and the way we learned about the new dishes. The chef was helpful, funny and nice.

After learning to make some of these ingredients, I have a new appreciation for the efforts and flavors in every dish!

We had a great time with Paint as we toured a local food market, learned about the special herbs, spices and sauces that make Thai dishes so special, and had a blast cooking at their farm. Really appreciate how easily they accommodated our dietary requests (vegetarian and a seafood allergy). All of the food tasted amazing and luckily there were take away boxes because there was too much food for us to eat. Note: this was our first time doing a cooking class where you get to choose the dish you want to make for each course, which was a welcome surprise. Thanks you, Paint!

After a convenient hotel pick up service we went to a local market where we were taught about different ingredients. Thereafter we went to the farm, where we collected fresh herbs and peppers. We cooked five Thai courses and they were wonderful! Definitely recommend following a course with these nice people.

My husband and I took a morning class with Baan Farm cooking school in Chiang Mai. The host picked us up promptly at our Airbnb and we drove to the market for fresh ingredients. The market was large and very fun to see! Next, we drove to the farm and picked some ingredients necessary for the dishes we planned to make. The instruction and process of preparing each dish was clear and we will be able to prepare these dishes at home, although we may have see if we can get some ingredients once we return home, like kaffir lime, or butterfly pea flower for making blue rice. The food was delicious. The other participants were fun to meet and we had a nice conversation as we ate our lunch. Afterwards, we had enough take away for dinner at our airbnb. A bonus! We happily recommend Baan Farm's cooking class to anyone visiting Chiang Mai

This was the perfect class! I loved the market, I loved the garden, I loved the cooking and I loved the eating. I make Thai food at home and with this class I learned all kinds of new tricks! We had a perfect class!

This was a good value class, with easy to make, tasty Thai dishes. I liked that we could choose our own dishes rather than all cooking the same. Making our own curry paste was fun too! If you do the afternoon class make sure you have sun protection - there's not much shade in the transportation on the way there if there's a traffic jam.

Convinced my husband to join me in a cooking class so we could make Thai food at home. The fact that we each picked our own dishes and cooked them ourselves was great. He made what he liked and I made what I liked. Whole classes was engaging from conversation at pickup, through the market, on the farm, making the dishes, and sitting down to enjoy and share what we made. Highly recommend Ploy for a 1/2 day of peaceful time on the farm and great eats.

The class was great prepared, the track beautiful, the ingredients high quality. You can choose from different recipes depending on your taste. So there is something for everyone. Do it!

The class was great! My husband and I made 5 different dishes, so had 10 to taste and enjoy at the end of the class. So much food but you can take away any leftovers. Ploy can multitask like no other! I cannot wait to make these recipes when I am back home.

I went with two friends and we really liked the experience! We were able to choose from different dishes, including the most popular and others we didn’t try before. Going to the market was great too. We’d have liked more time learning about the origins of the dishes and about the ingredients, so if you want this I’d recommend booking with a smaller group or a longer class.

First, I loved that you were able to select what meals you wanted to prepare (appetizer to dessert). The class was well organized and so easy to follow along. The instructors and assistants were amazing. It was also fun to pick the ingredients; however, the friendly dogs were also a highlight of the class. I would definitely recommend, BUT DO NOT eat before your class.

Organisation went smoothly and well. Pick up at hotel, drive to the market, then to the farm and back. The market we got the time to explore ourselves, which could have been a good opportunity for the guide to teach us more about local products. The cooking class was clear. Good instructions. And good explanation of the produce used. We were just the two of us so we’re able to ask questions, and attention was very focused. You get to eat your food and bring home the left overs. You cook 5 dishes which is A LOT to eat all in 3 hours. No breakfast necessary 😉 Overall, fun experience. Recommended for beginner cookers, if advanced would consider finding a more advanced class.

This was an amazing experience!! Beautifully arranged. We were picked up promptly from our hotel, given a menu to pick dishes to pick from ( 1 appetizer, 1 soup, 1 entree, 1 curry, 1 dessert). Then we went to a local market and tried to some yummy fruit and had time to explore market. We then were driven to Baan farm cooking school. We were able to pick out some home grown spices , flowers, fruits to have in our dishes. There was a complimentary tea upon welcome. A beautiful butterfly pea tea. Then we began cooking our dishes. Our host was so sweet and amazing. We were so full by end of it. The dishes were beyond delicious. Highly recommend this booking!!!

We had a great class! It was just us two so quite private but what an awesome experience seeing everything at the market, picking some herbs and seeing it all come together with 5 different dishes. Lots to choose from, conscious of all and any dietary restrictions and SO yummy!!! We loved how we made 2 dishes then sat and ate, then 2 dishes then sat and ate. Still had lots of leftovers but it was so incredible. Easy pickup and drop off and great communication. Thank you so much for the amazing class!!

We loved our experience & would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a cooking experience in Chiang Mai. We explored a local market and learned about the produce we were to use, cut our own herbs from their garden, and set off to cook 5 dishes. Definitely come hungry!

This cooking class was such a nice experience. We got picked up from our hotel and first went to a local market. Our guide/cook Paint explained some things about local Thai ingredients and how to use them, which was very interesting. We also tasted some delicious fruits. Then we went to the cooking school which was in a nice calm area. He showed us around the herbs garden and explained which herbs we needed to pick for our chosen dishes. The cooking class itself was very informative and everything was organized so smoothly! We had cooked a lot of delicious food but takeaway boxes were provided. I can recommend this class very much!

We just had the most amazing thai cooking experience! This is a family ran business and we were lucky to have been guided by Ploy who firstly took us to the market to pick the ingredients to be used in the meals prep. She explained us the use of the top ingredients used in thai cuisine and gave us some delicacies to try. Then we headed to their farm where the lesson was held. We picked some more ingredients from the garden then we cooked appetiser, soup, curry, stir fried and dessert! All with Ploy’s attentive and fun supervision! Super recommend!!! Ah one plus thing: she picked us up from our hotel 😊

Wow wow. Cannot say enough about this cooking class. My cousin and I are both novice cooks, but the hosts made the recipes seem so feasible. They were very patient teaching us and answering questions. We left feeling proud of the delicious food we had made and excited to try the recipes at home ourselves. We also appreciated that the class was totally tailored to each individual and what each of us wanted to make/eat. They made cooking less intimidating. And there are huge fish in the pond that were fun to watch and feed during the meal breaks.

Lovely people with great knowledge of the Thai cuisine, the ingredients and how to make a bunch of tourist able to cook delicious meals!

We had the freedom to choose from a range of dishes each, which we then got to cook and enjoy together along the way. It was a really nice, relaxing atmosphere and we got all the help and attention we needed. DON'T make the same mistake we did and eat too much beforehand. You will eat the dishes you create along the way (i.e. not just all at the end). The "harvesting" of some ingredients from the farm beforehand was a great touch.

Taking cooking class at Baan farm thai cooking school was a wonderful and fun experience! Ploy (Thai Cook) and her brother (Paint) are so sweet! First you go to a local marker to learn about the ingredients, very interesting! Then they take you to the cooking school which is at a beautiful location. Peaceful and quiet atmosphere, together with Ploy her smile and cooking teachings they bring you a lot fun full of fresh food and delicious tasts!! Strongly recommended!

I had the most wonderful time at Baan Thai Cooking School! While most Chiang Mai tours and classes are closed due to covid, Bann Thai is open and is committed to providing the best service they can in the middle of pandemic. Communication was great. My reservation was confirmed within 12 hours and I was picked up promptly infront of my hotel the following day. I arrived to the farm and everything was very clean and organized. I was greeted with a welcome drink and then off to the farm to gather ingredients for my dishes. We skipped the wet market tour and went straight to the farm due to a recent covid outbreak at the wet market, which I am okay with. We cooked 5 dishes total. It was easy and fun. I got to taste all the dishes I made. We started cooking two dishes, another two after a short break, and a final one in the end. I took 2 short breaks in between because I was getting too full from the food. I was offered to feed the fishes in the pond and to relax on the dock. I also wander around the farm a little bit. It’s not big, but it is a good walk to help digest the food. The experience was very nice and pleasant. I had the most wonderful time with the owner’s daughter (host). She was very nice and friendly and we chatted throughout the day. And if you are a dog lover, you are in for a treat! They have 3 dogs at the farm and they are all very lovely. The food they taught me to cook came out delicious. They also sent me the recipes and some photos. I spent some time with the dogs before I bid farewell. I would highly recommend this class to anyone that is visiting Chiang Mai.

First experience in a cooking class ever for both my significant other and I and we gotta say that it will forever set the bar for any other cooking class to follow. The best time with an eclectic group of strangers who felt more like long distance close friends. Our teacher was very lively, engaging and great at instructing! From pick up to market to picking our veggies in the farm and then feasting on our culinary skills, we couldn't have picked a better cooking class to kick off my birthday and Loy Krathong celebrations!

It was great to learn the recipes and eye opening to see how efficient great meals can be cooked you have the right ingredients. Would highly recommend for an enjoyable and worthwhile afternoon.

We enjoyed the cooking class so much! From the very beginning it was a very well thought out and enjoyable experience. The day went by seamlessly and I really enjoyed the small extra details. At the market, we were given delicious little snacks to start the day. We loved being able to pick our own vegetables, it was a great touch! In between courses, we were given lots of food to feed the fish in their pond. The cooking part itself was well explained and very successful. The food was delicious and as an added bonus we happened to love the music selection for the day. Would definitely recommend!

Everything is perfectly organized, from collection to the cooking event to return transport. very friendly to allergies and other requests. A great cooking class, the herbs for cooking are harvested fresh in the garden. at the end you get the cookbook by email.

Baan farm Thai cooking class is run by the best family. They made the class fun, and were open to answering any questions we had. It started with a tour of the local market, where they explained the different ingredients we would be using to cook with and even let us try a few Thai snacks! Then they took us to their farm where we were able to make 5 dishes (a LOT of food) and gave us a tour of the garden in-between cooking. We even picked the herbs we would then use for our remaining dishes. After the class was over, they emailed all the recipes to us to help when we attempt to cook at home. I learned so much about Thai food and cooking, while having the best time. Definitely take this class!!

Cooking was fun and easy in an environment where we all got to see what was going on and the meal was delicious! Beers being available for purchase didn't hurt either 👍

My wife and I took this class together and loved it! We were there with about 8 other folks, who were also great. All of the owners / chefs were incredibly welcoming and kind, getting to choose different options from each course meant you got to see a lot of different dishes prepared in a short amount of time. The class does move pretty quickly since they need to make sure everyone is cooking, so it is a little less hands-on then other more in-depth cooking classes. The food was (luckily) delicious though and we had a great time. They send the menu and recipes after the course, so you'll be able to take a bit more time to digest. The farm is beautiful and getting to pick your own ingredients is a pretty cool experience. We'd highly recommend this course - great way to meet some people, learn how to cook some Thai dishes and have some great food, depending how well you cook!

This class was so much fun. My instructor was kind and professional, making the cooking experience a great one. It was enjoyable to first visit the local market where I ended up buying some items to take back to the United States so that I may prepare theses dishes for my friends and family. Great teachers, location and amazing foods!

I really enjoyed the class. We were able to choose five dishes from twenty-four options; a starter, a soup, a curry, a stir-fried dish and a dessert. The day started with a short visit to a very non-touristy market where the head chef showed us some of the ingredients we would be cooking with, along with some typical staples of Thai cuisine. Then we drove to the farm where the cooking school is based; a really beautiful rural area surrounded by palm trees. We picked fresh herbs, chilli and vegetables from the garden to use in our dishes. Then it was time to cook! Over the span of three hours, we made five dishes each along with a curry paste. It was a lot of work but there were chefs to help us and the class moved at a good pace. All the food was delicious and we were able to take home leftovers. We had time to concentrate on what we were making, listen to the chef's advice and instructions, enjoy our food and relax at the farm afterwards before being driven back to our accommodation. We also received an excellent e-book full of recipes.

I loved the class, and can't wait to cook these dishes for my family. I'm not aware if you have a longer class, but I would be interesting in seeing a class for more experienced cooks to make all parts of a dish in detail. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting.

This was such a great day for the two of us!! We were lucky enough to be the only ones on this particular day, so we had a private class! All lovely people. Delicious, fresh ingredients and so much fun learning about all the foods we’ve been having here. It was also a nice way to get out of the city for a bit and stay on a quiet farm with nice people. Would 10/10 recommend!

This course was everything we hoped for. A small sized group of 8 of us together, given a quaint tour around the local market to start. Here we learned all about the local ingredients and had plenty of time to look around for ourselves and ask lots of questions. Then we took a short journey to their farm just outside of the city. Very cute and again we were talked through everything they grow out on site and picked/plucked our ingredients from there fields. The cooking itself was very interactive and the hosts/chefs had a great, fun and enjoyable attitude. They were able to deal with more detailed questions as well as the more basic questions that came from us. We cooked three courses (make sure you arrive very hungry) and had time between each course to look around the farm before starting the next. We have since been sent all the recipes and we cannot wait to attempt some more Thai cooking when we return back home. Thanks again to the wonderful hosts. We were two very happy chefs that day 😊

Positive : - great fresh products from garden - very organized, there isn’t one minute lost - they offer to take away if you can’t eat everything which is great because there is a lot to eat - large choice of recipe, vegan option, everyone pick his favorite - experimented cookers, give some interesting tips, friendly - good presentation of the ingredients, for each meal you have a plate with everything needed - during my class we were 5, so it was nice / but this can change from a class to another - nice market tour with tasting some product Negative : - sometimes too quick, rushy- but it’s because there is a lot a meal to prepare in a quite small time - they take a lot of picture but I’m never sure about if they’ll use it for own promo (but my fault, I didn’t ask) I’d love if they propose some session without market tour. As I already know it, it would allow me to save time. Advice: don’t eat before. This class can easily replace 2 meals

One of the highlights of my stay in Chiang Mai. I loved how personal this experience was. I have been recommending this class since the day I had it. Really enjoyed all aspects of this class, from learning how the produce is selected at the market, to picking herbs/vegetables in the organic garden on-site and the small group setting. Unlike other classes where everyone does the same dishes this class had loads of flexibility for every person -- this was a fantastic opportunity to pick from a large number of both regional and country-wide classic Thai dishes to cook.

Didn't know what to expect from this cooking class as it's my first ever, but it turned out to be really enjoyable. Went with my partner and we both learnt how to prepare 5 dishes each. The class size was small (only 3 others were there), so it didn't feel too rushed even though we all selected different dishes. Pick up and drop off was a smooth process. The visit to the local market was interesting and time was given for us to look around and purchase ingredients or local goods to take home if we wanted. It seems to be a family-run business and the cooking class was held in the farm where we picked some fresh herbs and ingredients. The instructor was really lovely and helpful, and despite English not being her native language, she did her best in making the instructions clear for all to understand. As there was too much food to finish at one go, we had the option to pack it away which was great. I was really impressed by the recipes they sent through via email after as it was practically a recipe e-book. Would highly recommend anyone to take a cooking class with Baan Farm!

This was such a fun class! The instructors were so great, and the location was beautiful. I love that we were able to pick some of the spices we used from the garden. The class starts with a market tour, where they show you and let you eat some of the ingredients you will be working with. Then a quick drive to the gorgeous farm. I can not say more positive things about the Baan Farm Cooking school. The day started with visiting a local market where we got to try some local fruits. Then we went to the farm where we fed the fish and picked some vegetables from their personal garden. The organizers were so friendly and informative about the dishes we were making. We had a 5 course meal and each person got to choose from a selection of dishes which all turned out amazing! Highly recommended!

The experience was amazing from the moment we were picked up from our hotel. The owners of this experience did a fantastic job of making sure every detail was thought of and taken care of. What made the experience so magical was how the organizers welcomed us into their family and their family business. By the time we left, we felt as if we had made new friends and now had family away from home. From our entire 16 day planned tour throughout Thailand, this cooking experience certainty ranked at the top of our list. We enjoyed out time with the Baan Farm Thai Cooking school. They taught us about the ingredients which went into each recipe and how to make curry from scratch! If you're into eating and cooking like myself, one of the better ways of spending an afternoon in Chiang Mai is to participate in a cooking class and I'm glad I chose Baan Farm Thai Cooking School. I had a good time getting to know Thai ingredients, making my own curry paste and eating all the dishes I've just learned, and the lovely, serene farm setting made the class even more enjoyable. Ploy and her team were organised, hospitable and cheerful. Instructions were very clear, you'll have no problems cooking the dishes and they will help you adjust them to your taste. I went to several cooking classes in Thailand, and this is definitely one of the best! I would recommend Baan Farm to anyone looking for a fun and inspiring Thai cooking class during your trip in Chiang Mai.

My couple is a fan of cooking, and we already had in mind signing up for a cooking lesson while in Thailand. The course exceeded our expectations. The experience in the market where you get to learn about the local ingredients was very interesting, and then the part where you get to pick your own ingredients for the recipes with your group was fun and entertaining. Their assistance throughout the whole process was very professional with good care of the timings and cooking levels you may have. Our recommendation would be: do not go with your stomach full. You will get the chance to make for yourself 5 amazing dishes including dessert that will be the delight of your day. A plan totally worth it if you are in Chiang Mai.

This was my first ever cooking class but will definitely not be my last. Loved how they took us to the markets first and explained the produce. Followed by actually picking herbs from the farm onsite. They taught us how to Make 5 different Thai dishes with lots of options to suit everyone. As a vegetarian I loved how easy it was to modify the dishes as well!

I had an amazing time learning how to cook 5 recipes from this adorable Thai farming family. I'm a vegan, and they were able to easily accomodate me without making the recipes any less delicious. The class is run by a group of siblings who are extremely friendly and very organized. We started with a quick tour of a local market, and then arrived at their family farm. They've constructed this beautiful cooking pavilion on top of a pond and the location feels idyllic. We each had a cooking station and they pre-prepped a lot of the ingredients for us, but I never felt like they were doing too much of the work for us, just enough to keep things moving. I was amazed that we were able to cook (and eat) so many recipes in just a few short hours. The blue mango sticky rice was a particular highlight -- make sure you pick that on your menu. In the middle of the class, they took us on a short walk around their farm where we picked some of the ingredients we later used. The whole family is extremely friendly and full of personality, and watching them interact with each other was really fun. Highly recommended!

A beautiful location with a big garden surrounding it, a friendly staff that made it so fun, and fresh wonderful food. Far enough outside of the big city to add to the charm. We had a group of seven and everyone was delighted. You won’t go wrong with this class.

It was a great, wholesome experience. Had a lot of fun cooking and meeting new people. The family was very friendly and very approachable. Highly recommend to everyone, even for first timers. Fluent in English, clean, and well organized. The farm and environment was very nice.

Our guide took us to the market to show us local ingredients and then guided us on what to pick from their garden for our 5 course meal. There was a wide range on the menu, allowing you to choose whatever you wanted to cook that day. They also accommodate vegetarians and vegans. And the brought a birthday cake to one of the girls in our group! Great experience overall.

Ploy was a great and motivated guide and teacher. The whole business is really a small family affair and while all of these cooking classes in CNX seem to be highly rated and follow a typical format, I was glad I chose Baan. The food was good, I learned a few things about Thai cuisine I didn’t know, and explored a market I wouldn’t have found on my own, even if a few other cooking tour groups were also there. Recommend!

It was nice that we had an explanation on the market about all different kind of Thai herbs and food. Afterwards we could pick our own ingredients in the farm, which made the experience even better. The food was amazing and there was a lot!! We had a wonderful afternoon.

I was picked at my hotel and then we stopped to pick up a few others. We drove to a market where we learned about some of the ingredients we’d be using. Then we drove for about 15 minutes to their farm, which was neat. There were rice paddies, an orchard and herbs and spices growing. We harvested some of it for the class. The class flowed very well, with not too much instruction and enough hands on experience. For what I learned and ate, plus the overall experience, it was worth the money. The hosts were very helpful, friendly and spoke good English. She even Airdropped the photos to everyone.

Fantastic experience - first we went to the local market to learn about ingredients and try some unknown ones. Then we went to the farm and picked the herbs on our own to later cook with it. You can choose the dishes you want to cook and everything can be made vegetarian or vegan. Cooking class itself was held in a small group with friendly and knowledgeable teachers. Would totally do again, food was delicious and I cannot wait to try the recipes at home.

She and her family were so kind we enjoyed our cooking and the taste was so good. Time was not long enough to make dishes but cooking in rush was fun too. Reasonable price. Recommended!

All the instructions were very clear and it’s easy for us to follow. We really liked the way we just hand picked the cooking ingredients from the organic farm right next to the cooking studio. Definitely recommend to anyone who are interested in Thai cuisine~~

The market tour is a great way to learn about the ingredients and make you feel like you can cook them in your own home! Then getting to pick the ingredients in the garden felt authentic and was so unique! Such a good way to learn about Thai food and Thai culture. In addition, everyone at the cooking school was friendly, helpful, and more than willing to answer your questions. They all spoke very good English that made instructions clear and learning easy. You are guaranteed to leave with a full belly and maybe even some leftovers! Such an amazing experience.

What a fantastic afternoon, we’re thoroughly stuffed and have had a great day! After a short drive, during which time we chose our preferred meals to cook, we stopped at a local market for “Thai Ingredient 101” and got to learn so much as well as taste a variety of delicious Thai fruit. Yum! Arriving at Baan Farm, it’s nothing short of exquisite; a calm, beautiful, family owned location with great facilities and welcoming people. What a great place! Ploy provides a simple, clear and concise lesson explaining the ingredients, the technique and what results in delicious food. We’re now experts and will be trying to recreate this at home with the help of her cooking guides. This place is a must; location, people and quality food make for a fab day

It was such a great experience! We were able to cook using fresh ingredients straight from the farm. All the instructors were so nice and accommodating. I am vegan and so is my spouse so it was great that they accommodated the recipes for us. I would highly recommend this cooking class! A lot of fun indeed!

We had an amazing experience, from the moment we were picked up all the way through to our tasty dessert. Visiting the local market was so great— we got to try some local sweets and fruits , and learn about the different ingredients used in Thai cooking. When we arrived on the farm, we picked our own fresh herbs and more ingredients, and got to feed the fish. The cooking class was fun, simple and the results were delicious! Good organised cooking class. Pick up from hotel was nice, went to the local market and saw a lot of stuff there. Cooking class takes place in a lovely environment with lots of equipment. Staff is very friendly, speaks very good English and know what they are doing. I would recommend this class to everyone.

The cooking class was so much fun! First, the Instructor picked us up at the hotel, we went to a local market, tried different things like durian and mangosteen and some kind of coconut steamed cake, walked around the market a little bit and she explained alot about the ingredients used in the 5 dishes we chose. She gave us time to take photos and then we drove to the farm. There we were warmly welcomed, she gave us baskets and hats and we started collecting our ingredients, which was so much fun. The cooking itself was super relaxed, they gave us helpful tips, took photos and were always around to keep an eye on the dish. The dishes were amazing, but 5 dishes are so much food that we couldn't finish, so they packed the leftovers for us to bring home. We also fed the fish and after that they sent us home. Awesome experience, I recommend trying a cooking class! P.S. All the recipes were sent to us by email.

The best experience you could do with food! Go for it and you will learn heps of things! It's worth it and very enjoyable and deliousssss! First of all we went to the local market and she gave me some information about different kind of vegetable and fruit and want you are cooking with it.. After tasting like coconut pancake, we arrived in the school and start picking the ingredients! I was very nice, I really enjoyed it! She explained everything and we started to cook! Thankyou soooo soooo much, the food was beautiful and deliciousssss and the atmosphere very relaxed! It's a good school and she is a great teacher! BTW the view from the location is amazing! I highly recommend it!!

We had an overall great experience!!! Though we were unable to do our own herb picking due to the weather we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! From the instructor to the food...all wonderful and highly recommended. Also great value for the price.

We spent a great day at that beautiful farm. The family is so nice and you really see that they like what they are doing. Everybody could decide for themselves what to cook which I think is very cool as I am a vegetarian. Pickup at the hostel also worked perfectly. I can definitely recommend doing it, you'll meet some very nice people!

My 20 year year old daughter and I took this class today and loved every part of the experience! Ploy, the very engaging woman who founded the school, picked us up at our hotel and quickly gave us the option to each pick out five different items to prepare. We, of course picked different items, so that we could share 10 different things. Two each of starters, soups, currys, main dishes and desserts! We proceeded to go to a great street market where we tasted and learned about many ingredients specific to Thai cooking. Ploy also picked up some items that were needed based on the menu choices we made. We then drove to the cooking school which is on a farm that has been in Ploy's family for many years. It was a completely charming place where we picked many of the herbs and vegetables required for our dishes and also got to feed the fish (over 1000?) that inhabit the pond surrounding the school. Ploy's sister Jumpii, who is equally charming, lead most of the instruction as my daughter and I were shown how to prepare all the ingredients and cook the courses. As lovers of Thai food we could not been any more satisfied with how delicious every one of the dishes tasted. Knowing that we prepared them, made it all the better. I should mention that they are also very accommodating to working with ingredients that are gluten or dairy free, should that be a concern. As we finished our meal, (and we were both stuffed!), Jumpii e-mailed us not only the recipes for what we made, but for all 25 menu options. Upon completion, the two wonderful women drove us back to our hotel. I cannot say enough positive things about how amazing (and budget friendly) the whole experience was!

Greatly prepared and incredible experience

We loved our tour of the market and cooking class with Baan Cooking School. We enjoyed picking vegetables and feeding the fish. They were even kind enough to give my friend a mango (she wanted a green one that is sour).

For this price, I LOVED the experience! It was above and beyond what I expected. The instructor picked us up from the hotel, took us to a local market where we got to see spices and herbs and fruits and we got to try them too! Then we got to the cooking class and was able to pick some ingredients fresh from the garden! Finally, we made a five course meal! It was a wonderful, fun and delicious experience. In addition, the host took lots of professional looking photos that I got to share with family and friends who were all very jealous! I would recommend 100%!!!!

We really enjoyed our morning at Baan farm. We were the only ones for the morning so had a private lesson. The market tour was very interesting and the farm was a great setting to cook. We chose 5 dishes each to make so 10 dishes in total. Lots of delicious food (and we took some away with us). Our teacher was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

This class was great! It included a pickup from our hostel (so convenient), followed by a trip to a local market where we learned all about some new fruits and vegetables. We then picked some veggies at the farm while our lovely host explained the farming processes. The recipes were super yummy and flexible enough to serve my omnivore friend and me (vegan). We had too much food to eat, so they were kind enough to pack up our leftovers. Overall, I highly recommend this class to anyone who has only a few days in Chiang Mai and wants to learn about Thai cooking.

I had a great experience at the cooking class it was nice to be at an organic farm cooking Thai food. Everyone at the class was very nice and the meals that we cooked were very tasty. I really liked that everyone in the class were able to choose the 5 meals they wanted to cook so it gave a lot of variety. I left the class being very full and happy. Everything was well planned from start to finish. The sisters were super nice and answered all our questions patiently. The farm is at a very quiet place outside of town and it was beautiful! And last but not least (actually probably the most important part) the food was just amazing!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Jumpii was a wonderful guide and teacher! She was a great communicator and her energy made shopping and cooking in the crazy summer heat fun. We loved exploring the market and picking our own produce and the kitchen sat on top of a pond, which was really unique.

The class was amazing and one of the highlights of my trip to Chiang Mai! The dishes were delicious and I can't wait to cook them when I get home 😊

My sister and I took the afternoon class and had an absolutely amazing time. We got picked up at our hotel and went to a local market first, were we had the opportunity to try several local specialties. Afterwards, we drove to the farm, which was an absolutely beautiful location. The girls were very friendly and helpful at all times and it was no problem to get a vegan version for myself for all dishes. The class was my absolute highlight during my trip to Thailand and I cannot recommend it enough :)

We had so much fun at Baan Farm! We were picked up from our hotel and took a tour around a market before heading off to the farm. All of our ingredients were ready when we arrived - except for the few ingredients we picked around their garden, which I found very interesting to learn why certain parts of the plants were used and not others. Cooking went smoothly - we were expertly guided through each step and never felt like we were asking silly questions (which, for someone who doesn’t really cook, was much appreciated!!). Honestly, we felt like we were just cooking with a big group of friends! We learned so much and are so excited to practice what we learned back at home!

It was great cooking and a nice athmosphere! My whole family really enjoyed it and we can’t wait to cook it at home! (Our friends cant wait too ;-)) we. And home happy and full and it was great!

Great experience!! Their Farm and space are very clean and cute. We had a lot of fun during the class, the girls were very friendly and helpful. You feel like the class is going very fast and you won't remember every detail but they'll send you a cooking book so you don't need to worry on making notes. This class was so fun! The staff and group we were with made it amazing, and what is better than good food with good company? We made the right amount of food (not too stuffed.) The sisters were so kind, helpful, and fun to talk to. All in all, a really great experience!

This cooking class will be a major highlight in our trip here. The host was super nice and made us feel welcome from the first second. The market she took us to had delicious food and was packed with locals (so you know it’s authentic and cheaper than tourist spots). What a morning! My girlfriend and I signed up to Baan Farm Thai Cooking School after reading online that they cater very well to vegans. We were not disappointed. Our instructor was passionate, attentive, and informative, ensuring that we were fully aware of all the ingredients used for our meals. First we headed to a local market that was arguably the most authentic place we visited in Chiang Mai; not a farang in sight! We sampled some local delicacies (our instructor ensured we only had the vegan ones) and had a look around before being taken to the location of our classroom for the day. The location was truly stunning; a farm in the rural outskirts to the North-East of Chiang Mai. Even with the air pollution blocking our view of the skies and the mountains, the setting was incredibly serene and put us all at ease straight away. The number of pupils was perfect, with my girlfriend and I being joined by three lovely American girls travelling from California. We donned some aprons and hats, picked some ingredients from around the farm, and got to work! After chopping up the ingredients for our respective meals, we cooked up a storm! Our tutor guided us every step of the way to ensure we had our pans on the perfect heat, and that our meals were neither over or under cooked. By the time we sat down with our fresh dishes in front of us we were excited to taste our own creations. I opted for the following dishes: Glass Noodle in Vegetable Soup; Deep Fried Spring Rolls; Penang Curry; Fried Tofu with Cashew Nuts; and Mango Sticky Rice. It was an absolute feast, and the price for the cooking class was worth it just for the glorious five-course meal at the end. There was so much food that we had to take some home to enjoy later! By the time we were back at our hostel we were completely stuffed, and felt like we had learnt so much about the secrets of Thai cuisine. We were sent a collection of the recipes from the day and look forward to trying them when we are back in the UK. It was a lovely morning and a valuable experience, I would recommend it to everyone, whether you are vegan or not!

We truly had the best time. They picked us up right at out accommodation and were so lovely and friendly to us. We were in a class with 8 others so 10 in total. They took us to a market and showed us many of the vegetables and spices that we would be using in our cooking which was very cool to see. We even got to try some of the food there. We then drove to the Baan farm which was so beautiful and we picked our ingredients!!! The cooking environment was open and there were fans. And literally everything went smoothly. I took so much from this course! We made so much food and it was all delicious and I cannot describe how lovely the people were. Please do this course it was such a great experience

Booked this course late in the evening for the following morning, and everything worked out as offered - on time pick up, and visit the local market. Our instructor Ploy guided us around the fruits and vegetables explaining the different products they offer before allowing the group 10 mins to wander around exploring on our own. Then we were taken to her family’s Baan Farm Cookery School located only a few miles outside the city, where we picked more fresh herbs, vegetables and flowers to cook with. Not that Chiang Mai is really bustling, but the time in the country, away from the city was really relaxing. The course is conducted in a purpose-built, open-air facility at the farm, and although there were only 3 of us, there were many more cooking stations available, probably 18-20. Ably assisted by Joy, Ploy talked us through the preparation of our various choices of appetizers, soup, curry, stir fry, and desserts, making everything from scratch. The experience was excellent and a great way to spend a few hours. My only advice to people taking the course is, go hungry! However, the team will box and bag anything you can’t eat for you to take home. An hour after being dropped off at home, an email arrived with a pdf book of almost 30 recipes detailing everything that was covered during the course. Definitely, recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

I really enjoyed my afternoon of cooking at Baan Farm. I was a little apprehensive as I’m vegan and gluten-intolerant but was taken care :) After a trip to the local market and picking fresh vegetables and herbs from the organic farm we set towards cooking (after some ice tea!). The location is so beautiful and peaceful, perfect if you want to get away from the bustling city. We sat and enjoyed our feast as the sun set and it really was such a nice experience. Baan Farm Thai was an amazing location to have a cookery class. The entire experience was great. We were away from the city in a beautiful location. I loved how we were able to pick fresh ingredients from their farm to use in our dishes. Every step of the course was informative and interesting. I never felt rushed or confused about what we were doing. On the way to the course we stopped by a local market, which was great too. Also it was no problem to switch out meat for delicious tofu as I’d requested to cook vegetarian food. Amazing value and we all got the recipes provided at the end. More people should go to Baan Farm Thai when they’re in Chiang Mai!

An excellent way to learn about Thai food while actually making it. The whole experience is great value: hotel pickup/drop-off, visiting the market and getting actual insight into what ingredients are used for, then very fun, organized and straightforward cooking instruction by Ploy, and unreservedly stuffing us with food while feeling very self-satisfied :))

The dishes were all very delicious and I think no one left hungry because we prepared so much food. I can really recommend this cooking school!

This was such a fun experience! Our guide was amazing and so kind. The food was sooooo good! Coming from someone who can’t cook and doesn’t enjoy to cook, I had a great time! Plus they email you the recipes afterwards so you can make it again! I highly recommend it and it’s a great way to meet new people!!!

I definitely found a family away from home. Travelling alone can be lonely, and thank God I took this class. Through this cooking school, it made my whole stay in Thailand meaningful and rich. Perfectly Organized! Many options to cook and also possible for vegetarians. The Timeline was not too short not too long. Visiting the market in a small group was very interesting - group is not too big. Everybody is cooking for themselves. Great teacher, delicious food, beautiful farm and the ingredients was own plucked. It was also a funny course. I would recommend it to everybody !

Lots of amazing food and awesome staff/owner Ploy. We really enjoyed checking out the market and learning more about some of the interesting foods we were seeing. It was also fun to pick the fresh herbs and veggies!

We had a great time at the cooking class. The guide was very friendly and funny. She explained us everything about the ingredients and the recepies and answered all of our questions with great patient and a big smile. The dishes we made were very tasty. The guide helped us made vegan variants of all the dishes we wanted. We especially enjoyed the part where we made our own curry paste. Come hungry as there is a lot of food to eat! Thank you very much for a great experience! A few small cons: - the kitchen is in an open space so no air conditioning. There are a few fans but you can't always turn them at you as things may be blown away. - the "farm" only contains a few rows of plants, so don't expect too much from that. It is nice to be out of town tough. - you don't really get to buy the ingredients for your dishes at the local market. It is mainly for some explanations and the feel of visiting an authentic market (which was very interesting). - we needed to choose the dishes on the way to the farm using s short page with the names of all the possible dishes. It would be nice to have a more detailed explanation of each dish (or at least some pictures) before choosing.

The class was a lot more fun than I had anticipated. The two ladies that taught the class had wonderful personalities -- upbeat, friendly and funny. The amount of food portioned for each person was very generous. There was so much food we could barely ate it all. Their recipes yielded super delicious food, with quality comparable to that at some nice sit-down restaurants. Everything was tasty except for the sticky rice in the mango sticky rice dish. It could use some improvement. It lacked that coconut flavor. Also for the banana in coconut milk dessert, they should have used ripe bananas because ripe bananas cook faster and are sweeter. The bananas they used were not ripe enough, so they took longer to cook and still retain some astringent taste to them. One more cons, the class is kind of a way out of Chiang Mai center, but they pick you and drop you off. Overall, I highly recommend this class!

We had great fun going to the market and being instructed about the different kinds of spices and vegetables! At Baan Thai farm we collected all ingredients direct from the garden so we learned more about the vegetables and everything was so fresh! Every single person had its own cooking place and our teacher explained every single step! We even made our own curry paste which is hard work but worth doing!! We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class at Baan Farm. The food was delicious, pick up at our hotel was on time and our instructor was friendly and was happy to show us around at a local market and let us taste different foods. She was also familiar with veganism and was happy to cater to our needs.

We had an awesome time at Baan Organic Farm. We started at the market and learned many things about Thai ingredients. We had fun sampling foods and produce. When we arrived at the farm, we picked herbs. There was so many choices in the courses to cook and the recipes catered to your dietary needs. Ploy, Mae and Nina were fun and knowledgeable and helpful. We also met some wonderful people, made new friends and shared all our dishes. I highly recommend attending this cooking class!

This class was absolutely amazing! It exceeded all expectations and then some :) We each were able to make our own dishes and by the time we got to the entree we were already full! Had the best day with Ploy at this cooking class, she is the nicest! We were so privileged to be only 3 people for the morning lesson, we had a tour at an incredible local market, and picked some more ingredients at her farm where we cooked. This farm is such a lovely place to have a cooking lesson and all the people working here were so delightful. I cooked the best pad Thai and 4 more dishes, and I was so full after eating all of that but it was so good! I highly recommend the Baan Thai farm cooking class, it made my day!! With love, Adriane.

This was one of our favorite experience in Chiang Mai. Our cook and guide, Kanyarat, was amazing. We went to a local market and she explained local fruits and vegetables, we also got to taste some of the fruits and banana wrapped sticky rice (delicious), we then went to the farm and picked ingredients from the garden to cook with. The class room was clean and the menu we got to choose from was great. I loved making the papaya spicey salad and curries, the banana and mango deserts were also great. After pick-up we went straight to the local market. Really nice to see big tables filled with ingredients. Then we continued to the farm where we got some ingredients from the garden and we started cooking. Made some 5-6 tasty dishes and it was too much to eat, really good.

A really lovely experience. We booked an afternoon class and happened to be the only ones, so we got a private class. Ploy was really sweet and funny. I have some dietary restrictions but Ploy was happy to help with suggestions. I suggest not eating much beforehand as you'll be making 5 dishes (all super delicious!)

Loved the initial tour through the market, then picking ingredients from the family farm. The cooking facility was fantastic and wide open. The food ingredients were so fresh and tasty. We enjoyed both the market tour and the class a lot. Unexpectedly we were the only ones participating so it felt like a private class. The teacher is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Finally, the food that we prepared was absolutely delicious and we even got to make a local dish with chicken blood outside of the cookbook. All in all it was a wonderful experience!

My friend and I had the whole class to ourselves and were blown away by the thoughtfulness of our instructors and thoroughness of the class. The market part was fun and I enjoyed sampling some random food. Then a quick car ride out of town to a beautiful farm was so relaxing! We picked our courses and jumped in! We got to pick some of our own herbs to use and learned so much about the Thai flavors! We got great instructions and help along the way as we made 6 incredible courses!! So much fun!

I can't tell you how great this cooking class was. We had the best time with Ploy and TJ who are great instructors and awesome, funny people! We LOVED that we could easily switch to an all-vegetarian menu and the market tour, fresh veggie/herb picking, and cooking class itself was exceptional. The farm is beautiful and well-equipped, we also got to feed the fish! You end up with a pdf booklet with all of the recipes and you even get to bring food home (we had enough for a big dinner). I cannot recommend this class enough.

We had such a lovely time and Poi (sorry if misspelled) was so great! We first went to the market and learned more about Thai food and tried some fruit, then we got to the farm and picked some veg for our meals! We cooked all 5 dishes, definitely try the mango sticky rice!! We were then dropped off back to our hostel, it was a great experience and such good value for money!

I can totally recommend the cooking course! There is no point to be criticized. Before the cooking course we visited the local market and learned a lot about Thai vegetables. We could also taste pancakes and many exotic fruits. The owner makes a lot of effort in the cooking course to explain the individual steps and helps you where she can with a lot of enthusiasm. The home-cooked dishes tasted great and you should definitely come with an empty stomach. All in all, a really great afternoon.

Really enjoyed the Thai cooking experience. Was at a loss of what to do on hotel transfer day in Chiang Mai and found this on the internet. Booked it at 23.00 and was collected next morning at 09.45. Lovely people, lovely food and got me back to my hotel in time for my train to Bangkok. Highly recommended. Wayne

It was a very nice lesson. We learned a lot of the Thai food from the fruits, vegetables, herbs and cooked all of this. The staff was very helpful and friendly. For a person like me who never cooks, it was a lot of fun. It was one of the best activities on our Thailand trip.

From beginning to end was a fun experience. They pick you up from your location and let you live out where the locals go to shop for groceries. Needless to say the food was delicious. They will email you all the recipes so you can try them out at home. The atmosphere of the class was light-hearted with the occasional banter. Also! I had so much fun during this cooking class. They will take us to the market and explain different ingredients to us and walk us through the cooking steps throughout the class. And they have their own little farm for you to pick your ingredients. It was fantastic.

Despite my concern after only booking 36h in advanced, the car arrived at 9:05 and promptly whisked us away to the market. There, we were treated to a wonderful sampling of local fruits and small breakfast treats. After a short drive to the farm, we picked some fresh ingredients for our dishes. All the instructions were informative and the lesson plan was well paced. My partner and I each chose 5 dishes, so we could try everything. Our food turned out so delicious and we were treated to a wonderful surprise of durian with sticky rice. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely Loved it. First to experience the local market. We were told something about different fruits and vegetables. Then we went to the Baan Farm. There we harvest some vegetables and fed the fish. It is a really beautiful Farm. The cooking part was really fun, everybody cooked five differnet dishes and one curry paste. The Taste of the Food was absolutely amazing. By far the best Food i ever had. Thank you so much for this experience!

Run by a group of young, fun-loving friends, Baan Farm Thai Cooking was one of my favorite activities in Chiang Mai. We spent the class laughing and dancing while cooking amazing food. Make sure you come hungry and with an open heart and you will leave stuffed and with new friends. PS I am a vegan and and it was no problem at all to make substitutions as needed. So it is vegan/veg friendly.

This cooking class was one of the best experiences i had in Chiang Mai. The farm is very nice and the people are so lovely and helpful. I learned very much about the herbs and vegetables that they have in their one garden. The market tour was very interesting as well. We decided to do this cooking class on a whim, and I’m so happy we did! Starting by walking around a local market and learning about the food we were going to cook with was amazing. The farm is beautiful and the cooking area is in an open air kitchen over a little pond, making it so picturesque. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh - being able to pick the ingredients from the garden was a huge plus. Everyone at Baan Farm was super welcoming - I would definitely go back!

I took this Thai cooking lesson in Chiang Mai with my 11-year daughter and had such a good time. Our teacher was perfect from the time she picked us up in town. We selected our 5 meals, visited the market and then went to the farm. The cooking class was perfectly adapted to my daughter. The place was nice, open on a large garden. Recipes were well explained. We shared our class with 2 other girls from HK we enjoyed chatting with. Well a very good afternoon!

One of the best cooking classes you will ever be a part of it. Our lovely hosts Pauly and May were awesome. They were funny, enthusiastic, and great teachers. We went to the local market and learned about the different types of fruits and vegetables that are popular in Thailand. It was definitely helpful to have someone teach us about the wonderful herbs used in our curries and stir fried dishes. The cooking class is located on their farm and we picked out fresh vegetables from their garden. They helped us with every step in the cooking process and everyone's food turned out to be excellent. My group loved the class and would definitely recommend this class to anyone wanting to have a good time while making/eating deliciousThai food.

I joined the class , and I found out I was the only one in that afternoon class. So it was like a private lesson. They are all kind and nice, passionate for teaching cooking. We had nice conversation. I asked any questions about ingredients and Thai culture. I am very satisfied with the quality and the price of the class. Highly recommended !

We had such a great time, only three of us at rhe class, we had enough time to cook 5 meals and to enjoy in them, there was so much food we took leftovers home for dinner. It was easy and fun way to try cooking thai food

This was the best experience I have had in Thailand so far. I could not stop smiling the entire time. The teachers were really knowledgable and allowed us to try lots of local food at the market. We then went back to the farm, which was bsautiful, to pick all of the vegetables and herbs. Then we got to make five incredible dishes! Highly highly recommend!

We all loved cooking with Pauline and May. The market tour was fun, picking our own veggies at the farm was amazing, and most importantly they are amazing teachers. Preparing everything was way easier than we expected, the food was absolutely delicious as rated not only by the chefs but also the entire family who joined them for dinner (4 cooked for 11). (They were also able to accommodate our family member with a shellfish allergy!) Not only that, they sent us the recipes for everything we made the next day –now we can make Thai food at home. Thank you so much!

We had our favorite day in all of Thailand spending the afternoon with our wonderful hosts at Baan Farm. May picked us up at our hotel and brought us to a local market to give us a personal tour and show us all the unique foods, and to try some interesting fruits and vegetables that we would be using in our cooking class. We then drove to her friend's family farm which was beautiful and the cooking class was held in a great space right over the water. We picked our own vegetables and herbs from the garden just outside. The two hosts were so friendly and informative. We had hands down the best food in all of Thailand at this class because everything was so fresh. We had a 5 course meal and could choose anything we wanted to cook. We made the curries by hand as well, and everything we cooked ourselves tasted unbelievable. Overall highly recommend, wonderful experience.

It was an amazing experience, it exceeded our expectations. The pickup at the hotel was on time an very polite, she is one of the owners. She took us to the market and there we tried all kind of new fruits and vegetables. Then we went to the farm where the other owner was waiting for us with all the tings ready. The farm is an amazing place with its own pond, organic garden and lovely installations. Each one of us (two adults, two teenagers) cooked five dishes and had a wonderful meal. Definitely a five star experience from beginning to end.

We really enjoyed our cooking class. It was a good opportunity to discover the Thai cuisine and to taste a typical homemade meal. We finally prepared ten meals, five each, and everything was delicious. We also could have a full recipes book of the farm.

I have tried cooking classes in other countries before and I like how in here, we each got our own cooking stove and had lots of time cooking and preparing food ingredients from scratch. She picked us up at our hotel, we went to the market and she showed us all kinds of ingredients which inevitably helped us out on the rest of our trip, after picking up a few ingredients we went back to the farm. At the farm you pick your own ingredients from her garden, and cook what dishes you wanted to make. The land was beautiful, her and her family were amazing she's extremely nice and funny... you cook a 5 course meal and it's all the freshest ingredients. It was truly an amazing experience.

Just a big thank you to all at the cookery school. I had a great time learning the recipes, a lot of care taken in giving instructions step by step. The tour of the market and herb garden really added to the experience. Highly recommended.

The staff were very lovely, attentive and funny. The day was 100% worth it and we are so glad we picked Baan farm.

May and her friends were very friendly. Class takes place in an organic farm. It was nice to learn about the vegetables and handpick the ones we needed. Having a choice about what to cook and small group were the other great advantages. Highly recommended!

This was an absolutely awesome cooking class! The girls that run it are so accommodating, helpful and funny. We got to make 5 of our own dishes that were absolutely delicious. The farm and cooking school is super beautiful, such a nice place to spend the afternoon. Thank you for a wonderful time! :)

Teachers were really nice and funny, good food, cool atmosphere with the group. I spend a really cool day. Don't eat before, simple advice :).

We enjoyed the cooking class very much, May did well and we even learnt a little bit of a Thai song! :-) All in all a unique experience!

When I was picked up at my hotel I was giving a list of meal to chose from to prepare. That was a very nice surprise. Most other places they just have a fixed menu to cook. Both instructors were very professional and friendly. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this cooking class

Todo muy bien, nos recogieron en el hotel, nos llevaron al mercado y nos explicaron y dieron a probar distintos productos. Después fuimos a una granja muy agradable y allí cocinamos. Todo según lo que esperábamos. Repetiríamos!

My partner and I completed this morning cooking class and we both found it fabulous! Having booked the class early hours in the morning on the 6th of August, they sent someone to pick us up from our hotel at 9. When they picked us up they took us to a local market were we were able to explore different types of herbs, fruits and vegetables. We were also able to try some! After the market we were then estcourted to their farm and picked some more herbs for our cooking session. Everyone who we encountered and cooked with had a great sense of humour, which just added to the day! The food which we cooked was delicious and I can't wait to follow the recipes when I get home! Thanks for the great experience!

This was the first time I booked a cooking class through cookly and it was really amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Phoy and Meme picked me up at my hotel at a promised time and they took us to a local market where I saw different ingredients that I didn't know about before. Then, we tried some fruits (they were delicious) and headed off to their farm to begin our cooking class. It was meant to be 5 hours but it went so quickly as we talked, laughed, cooked, and ate. The instructions are easy enough to try it when I go back home and Meme sent us recipes as well. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone - whether you are an couple, have children, haven't any knowledge about cooking - you will enjoy it! I also want to thank the teachers at the cooking class as well as Phoy and Meme for the amazing time and their welcoming atmosphere.

Our day started off at the market, where we were able to try all kinds of fruits and were informed in detail about vegetables and other ingredients we would be using. We then made FIVE meals (choosing from a list for each dish). The food was spectacular, but that wasn't even the best part. Our hosts were by far the funniest people we met in all of Thailand. Their humor made our experience all the better. Would highly recommend!
