The knowledge of food and wine was fantastic. We loved out time. One warning... .come hungry. You eat everything you make.
The best thing we did in Rome! We love food and wine and try to find a cooking class wherever we travel. This experience did not disappoint. We learned about and sampled different wines from a variety of regions of the country, sampled a delicious, unusual Prosecco, made 2 different pastas, meatballs and tiramisu. The staff were all informative and fun. I would highly recommend.
I recently had the pleasure of joining the food tour in Roscioli, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we started at Campo de' Fiori Market, the tour was a delightful exploration of Roman cuisine and culture. Each stop was thoughtfully curated, starting with a delicious Maritozzo at Roscioli Caffè, followed by some of the best pizza and supplì I've ever tasted at Antico Forno Roscioli. The highlight for me was the private cellar visit at Rimessa Roscioli, where we got an insider's look into their wine selection process. The cooking demonstration was both informative and mouth-watering, with expertly prepared Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, and a divine Tiramisù to finish. The wines paired with each dish were superbly chosen by the sommelier, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome—it’s a must-do for food lovers!
Roni (our tour guide) knew so much. He is a super-foodie (chef, pastry chef, Master Sommelier) and history nerd so our tour was amazing. The food and wine pairings were unique and interesting. Also, we had tried each of the dishes earlier in our trip but they made them better. Also, the service was excellent. My teenage son likes Amatriciana and while it wasn’t on the menu, they brought us some to make him happy. Highlight of our trip to Rome.
This was one of the best meals we had in Rome. The service was excellent, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.
I signed up for a cooking class and wine tasting at Rimessa Roscioli and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Rome. The setting was delightful and the instructors (Lily and Marloes) were fantastic. The menu and wine pairings were excellent! The experience was hands on and super fun. I highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Rome.
We did a cooking class here and had a lot of fun and and the food was amazing, if I come back to Rome again, I would go back here 100%.
The cooking class was phenomenal! It was a super fun experience - we started with tiramisu and then made a few pastas and a meatball dish. The wine pairing was superb and Matteo the sommelier did an amazing job explaining all the wines to us. The atmosphere was lively and fun. We got recipes sent to our emails at the end and I'm cooking forward to creating them at home! The pasta was some of the best I've had in Rome!
My mom and I did the food tour on one of our last days in Italy and it was a highlight of the trip. Having come from Los Angeles, we hadn't had any meals yet that had exceeded restaurants like Pizza, Mother Wolf, and Osteria La Buca in LA. But this experience made it all worth it! The other people cancelled so we had a private tour. We started off at the market learning the history, moved on to get maritozzi (so delicious), and then walked through the neighborhood and got more of a history lesson. After walking a bit, we went to Roscioli's more casual spot and got sliced pizza and other small bites to take to the wine cellar. And we capped it off at their restaurant with a live demo of how to make carbonara and cacio e pepe. It was awesome and all the food was delicious! My only feedback is that since it was only two of us at times it was too much food and wine.
One of the highlights of our trip! Whether you are a novice, want-to-be cook or experienced foodie comfortable in the kitchen, you will enjoy this wonderful class. The perfect balance of participation and eating. When they say come hungry they mean it because you eat all of the delicious meals you make. Testament to the importance of delicious ingredients make for delicious meals and when it comes to the wine, if it grows together, it goes together. Our family already enjoys cooking and making homemade pastas together but the tricks we learned today we will carry forward for generations. We were grateful for the lessons and knowledge shared all in a very user friendly environment. Would recommend to any and all. Thanks to the lovely ladies who ran such an awesome class and experience.
Our cooking class at Roscioli was the highlight of our Rome trip! We left booking in at the restaurant to the last minute and couldn't find a table so decided to do the cooking class instead which was 100 times more worth it! The ladies who took our class were wonderful, we learnt all the famous dishes which we ate at the end of the class with paired wines - everything was absolutely delicious! Ended up buying the cookbook to continue learning more dishes at home. Definitely a must do in Rome!!
If I could give it 6 stars, I would! We did this cooking class with our 8 and 10 year old. Both of them said it was their favorite activity that we did in Rome. Our son even bought a pasta machine and has made fresh pasta since we have been home (he is 8!). Our chef, Lili, was fabulous. The class was small and interactive. The fabulous and unique Italian wine pairing with each dish was a highlight for the adults. Just a note: Our kids love cooking and have taken cooking classes before. They also love pasta. The class was 3 hours and 40 minutes so it may not be a good option for all families.
I've been to Rome a few times and was looking to do something a little different. A lady we met on the plane suggested we take a cooking class here and ended up lucking out -- it was just 4 of us with the restaurant's head chef along with Mattia their awesome sommelier. We learned how to make homemade pasta and meatballs, sampled wines and most importantly, sampled an array of DELICIOUS food. After we finished the class we then sat down to a meal (the pasta we cooked) and various wine pairings. I highly recommend this as you not only learn about how to prepare the food, but really the history and philosophy of eating in Rome. It was definitely a highlight of our trip!!
Many times I was in Rome, eventually I found my favourite spot. The way they match food with their great selection of wine is simply an amazing experience, a sensorial one. Good food, charming atmosphere and professional service, I will surely be back and strongly recommend it.
Our small group had a hands on cooking class with the chef and in his kitchen! We learned many great things and then paired our food with wines hand selected by the restaurant's sommelier. We tasted several local olive oils to compare and also had a selection of mozzarella. We left nicely full and happy. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to learn from the best about Roman cooking and Italian wines.
This was by far my favorite activity in Rome. We made a mistake with the booking (wrong day) and the wonderful people here were so amazing as to fit us in the next day. The food was amazing. We learned how to make meatballs, carbonara, and three other pasta dishes. There was a lot of focus on the quality ingredients which was really amazing because you could see the difference between their ingredients and something we would buy at home. We got to eat everything that we made along with having some cheese with wine pairings as well. Such an amazing experience and when I return to Rome I will absolutely be back.
Rimessa Roscioli gives you the perfect activity for a night. They give you great food, paired with even better wine. They teach you in a fun way about what you are drinking and they turn an awkward table of strangers into an Italian family over the course of four hours. This isn't really a dinner, it isn't necessarily a social event, it isn't a wine education... yet we left full, perfectly tipsy, more knowledgable about wine and with some new friends.
We absolutely loved our experience tasting at Rimessa Roscioli. Lindsay (the sommelier) was wonderful - informative, funny, friendly, just the best - and the wines were delicious. The food pairings were perfect, as well, and really brought out the flavors in the wines. We stayed long after the tasting was done, drinking and talking with some of the other attendees and the owner. We made a bunch of new friends and won't soon forget that evening. Highly recommended!
I was in Rome in September with a few friends, who were visiting for the first time and wanted to participate in a wine tasting experience. I had never been to the Rimessa, but was familiar with the Roscioli name from my previous visits, so suggested we look into that. Very glad we did, as it was a great evening. The sommelier, Alessandro, is extremely knowledgeable and also does a great job of introducing you into the wine world and making it accessible for all, regardless of your knowledge, as long as you come with an open mind. His tasting choices were fantastic, and served with wonderful small dishes of just mindblowing cheeses, salumi, pesto etc. The location itself is very conducive to a group tasting and is a perfect setting. Overall, definitely worth the money and the time.
We booked a private wine tasting at Rimessa Roscioli but we got so much more than we expected. First, the wine was really great. We thought we knew Italian wine but our hosts introduced us to so many varieties that we were not aware of. The wines were paired with simple but AMAZING bites of food, including tasty cheeses and the best pesto ever. We also had small plates of food and this simple and small kitchen gave us the BEST food that we ate in Rome and probably on our entire Italy trip. It was so good, we returned to Rimessa Roscioli for a second night before leaving Rome. Absolutely a must-visit on any trip to Rome!!!
The Rimessa team goes in depth to provide specific detail about Italian wine and each wine that is presented. It is unpretentious and encourages group participation. The paired cheeses and pasta was delicious, and they did a great job of sharing why the pairings were selected and showing how the wine opened up and changed once it was paired with the food. We plan to order wine from Roscioli...it is run by thoughtful and passionate people that are great at sharing information about high quality but accessible wine.
We absolutely loved our experience at Rimessa Roscioli. Not only were the food pairings incredible and delicious but we truly enjoyed our sommelier and their commentary. It was educational and a wonderful way to get to know the different wine regions of Italy all in just two hours. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome. Not to miss!
My boyfriend and I had a terrific evening at Rimessa Roscioli. The wines were all excellent, and a number were from varietals I wasn't familiar with -- so a worthwhile experience for both interested novices and more experienced wine drinkers. The food was very good as well -- small portions, but over 7 courses it works out to more than enough. And a great way to sample some of the extraordinary products on offer at the Roscioli stores. The sommelier, Lindsay, was very knowledgeable and engaging.
So on our last night in Rome we desperately wanted to go back to Roscioli for dinner but were unable to get a reservation. My husband saw online that Rimessa Roscioli had availability and called and made reservations for our party of 4. We had an amazing experience! Lyndsay was wonderful and knowledgeable. The food was great and the wine paired very well. This was a great way to end our European trip.
