After some initial delays in the pickup process I found the class well worth it.
It was cheaper than many advertised on line, probably due to having to travel 15 minutes out of Patong, however the additional travel was worth it.
It was less of a class and more of being involved in cooking dishes of our choice in preparation for our lunch.
Our host B has a lovely quirky demeanour and an obvious great knowledge of Thai cooking, which was evident in her understanding of the various herbs and spices which we selected at our brief trip to the local market which though small, was very clean with all the fresh produce, required to prepare the food.
The dishes we selected to prepare all tasted very authentic and delicious including chicken and cashew, green chicken curry, chicken with Thai basil, morning glory and the obligatory spring rolls. Nothing disappointed.
B’s knowledge of Thai food was obvious as she directed our use and amounts of the herbs which give the cuisine its distinctive flavours, and the tips and directions produced results better than many of the restaurants we ate at in Patong.
Make the green curry yourself. It takes time but you actually learn the ingredients and amounts used to make the paste and the cooking process involved for a beautiful green curry.
The class was very enjoyable and food far from disappointing.
