My son Anni had a great afternoon with Nahoko who has completely changed our views on Ramen and preparing noodles. Nahoko provided lots of background information on umami, ingredients and Japanese food culture but most important was the cosy and friendly atmosphere that she created for us in her kitchen.
We had a great afternoon and evening at Nahoko‘s house in Tokio. She teached us how to cook Ramen from scretch. We made our own broths (also vegeterian one) and Ramen noodles. The created Ramen was so delicious! We also had some really inspiring conversations about the life in Japan. In total we really enjoyed the class and recommend it to everyone! Thanks Nahoko (and your husband) for that unique experience :)
Not only did Nahoko provide us with her recipe and practical cooking tips. She provided us with theory and background knowledge and explained why she is doing each step while cooking. This class also provides insights on Japanese culture. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone who has a interest in cooking and Japanese cuisine. It is the best experience I had so far in Japan and also the best Ramen I tasted.

We learned to cook super delicious ramen. Very nice teacher. What I liked a lot is that the teacher was able to answer some very detailed questions about different steps. She provided sound advice based on her own experience. And also talked about alternatives. Why and how they work or don't work. Very knowledgeable teacher!
I loved being welcomed into Nahoko’s home and learning how to make ramen broth and noodles. Nahoko was warm and welcoming and provided us with both background about ramen and ramen broth and knowledge to make a delicious broth from a variety of ingredients even if they differ from what we used in class. She was able to accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diet needs. Highly recommend!
Nahoko-san was a perfect host. The mixture of explanations, cooking, and fun was perfect. The time flew by, we learned a lot and enjoyed the home-cooked meal, which was wonderfully flavored by Nahoko-san. Thank you so much for that amazing experience. During our stay in Japan, we had the pleasure of taking part in Nahoko's cooking class. Having certain food restrictions, she was attentive to our needs and found alternatives. Our cooking class with Nahoko was one of the most prized memories from our trip to Japan this summer. She was warm and so welcoming and we loved being in her home. Nahoko hosted our family of 5 (our kids are 17, 14, and 9) and we made each made our own ramen noodles from scratch. The ramen was the very best we’ve ever had and she let us taste and learn about her year long fermented miso and was a delight with the kids. We plan to make this at home with each of the kids inviting a guest. We took two other cooking classes while traveling through the country and although the other classes were great and informative, nothing came close to spending the afternoon with Nahoko. This is a not to be missed treat if you’re able to book a class! Thanks so much Nahoko!

This class was really incredible! My husband and I were lucky enough to get to do a private ramen making class with Nahoko. She is an amazing teacher, took us through every step so we can make our own ramen at home, let us taste her homemade miso, and helped us cook the best ramen we had during our entire trip to Japan! She welcomed us into her home like we were family and we got to eat ramen and chat with both her and her husband at the end of our lesson - they both are incredible people with such knowledge and passion! Nahoko helped us not only with ramen but with other aspects of our stay and kept in touch after the class. It felt like we made an immediate friendship that we will cherish for a long time to come! This class exceeded our expectations in both cooking and friendship!
Nakaho’s class was fun!! We learned some ramen technique and it tasted delicious. Worth booking….Namaho’s town outside of Tokyo was very cute as well.
We had an amazing time with Nahoko-san! She explained everything extreme well, had step by step instruction for us to take home, and made the entire ramen making experience very fun! Nahoko-san even spent some time talking with us after we finished our ramen, it was perfect. I would highly recommend cooking with Nahoko-san!!!
I was very lucky to be the only person in the ramen and gyoza class and it soon felt like being at a friend's house for dinner! Nahoko was so lovely and really gave me an insight into Japanese home cooking. The food was also delicious and the experience as a whole was one of my favourite in Japan. I would reccomend to anyone wanting a true Japanese experience with a very sweet lady. Thank you so much Nahoko! x
My partner and I attended Nahoko’s house for a cooking class to learn about and prepare ramen and gyoza. We were greeted with a big welcoming smile from host Nahoko. We began by preparing, wrapping and eating the gyoza. The gyoza were so tasty it was hard to not eat them all at once to ensure we could save room for the ramen! We then made the ramen and Nahoko shared some of her secret recipe hints with us. The ramen broth and ingredients were so flavourful and we both were very full and satisfied after eating it. We can not wait to host a dinner party and put our new skills to use! The night was so great that we will be visiting Nahoko again next trip in Japan to learn more to further our knowledge. I would highly recommend this class to all groups ranging from couples to families to friends.
We were welcomed into Nahoko’s fun and quirky kitchen for a lovely evening of learning about Ramen and gyoza. The finished product was delicious and the experience was a delight from beginning to end. Making and tasting fresh noodles was on our bucket list for our trip to Japan and Nahoko came through. My husband, who cooks professionally learned many new tricks. We even got to taste her homemade Miso and learn about the process of creating it from scratch. Highly recommend!
I’m Nahoko,conducting the cooking class “At home with Nahoko” I started to my class for foreign travelers 3 years ago.Actually I had only 3 classes in the first whole year, but now I have the classes almost every day in April,May and October.And I have been meeting a lot of people from all of the world. My food is healthy, delicious and visually stunning, definitely insta-worthy . We are located in a friendly and welcoming private home in Kunitachi,p about 25 minutes by Chuo JR line from Shinjuku,Tokyo.And just 4 minutes walk from the nearest station to my home. I never use any chemical additive or prosessed food. I also give you some ideas about table setting. It is such a pleasure to spend time with me and be able to enjoy my home!!
