We booked this class on the recommendation of friends, and it did not disappoint. We loved the experience, from the market visit to the organic garden, and of course the class itself. The hosts were all very friendly and helpful. We had two children with us (aged 13 and 11) who enjoyed getting stuck into the food prep and cooking and every dish we made was tasty. We would definitely do this class again and recommend to others.
The class was super fun. My 9-year-old son was able to fully participate. We made so much food. Come hungry! The guides were great. Highly recommend!
The experience was great and different, but it would be more profitable if the teacher spoke more slowly and paused.
We did this class as a family, my kids are 13 and 10. We all loved it. Fern was excellent, she helped the kids but kept the pace of the class. We made so much food, we couldn’t eat it all but it was all delicious! A highlight I. A holiday full of amazing things
The chef explained all very good. She was also really funny. The prepared meals tasted very good. We cooked in a small group of 6 people. The farm is nice. You can decide between 3 meals within 3 kategories. At least you have 3 meals + dessert and tea. We recommend the cooking class to everybody!!
Mai was so great with her good mood and her help throughout the class, we enjoyed it so much. The whole thing is really smooth from the pick up to the drop off. I was a little worried that my 9 year old son would get bored but not at all. Thank you all for giving us such a great time. And a big thank you to Mai for making it special for us
What a wonderful experience! It starts with a tour of the local market and an explanation of key Thai produce. Then you shift over to the organic farm/cooking school where Mai and her colleagues take you through the garden before teaching you how to cook three types of dishes. Each person can choose their own individual dishes, which makes it a nice option for kids. We are a family of four with two kids ages 11 and 12. This class was a highlight from our time in Chiang Mai and gave the kids a much deeper appreciation of Thai cuisine and culture. Highly recommend!
The clas was fabulous, we learnt to make 4 Thai dishes and also Thai milk tea! The teacher, Nook, was amazing, great English and very good at explaining all aspects of Thai cooking! The organic farm tour added a really nice touch and al the ingredients were so fresh!
The lesson was really interesting, entertaining and we learnt a lot of things about Thai cuisine. The girl who gave the class was very kind and caring!
100% recommended to understand Thai cuisine, vegetables and recipies, is a must!
the garden and kitchen are very large and well designed. You can take a lot of pics in the garden. The teacher is very patient as well.
Class was super fun and everything we cooked was delicious! We got a recipe book. So excited to try to do these dishes back home!!
Well organized and funny.
My meal was excellent, the energy within the class was awesome, staff was enthusiastic!!! I was so full from my first 2 dishes that I had to bring the last dish in a takeout container. I would recommend this to my friends!!! Great job guys...
Class was great, small group of people Canada. USA and Taiwan. Would try full day again next time! Gregory Ottawa, Canada 🇨🇦
Everything was well organized. The place is something very special, it is charming. Our teacher was kind, funny and well explained everything. The food we cooked was delecious, in spite the lack of my cooking experience. A true 5 star experience!
It was a great family experience, we learned a lot and got to eat great food that we made! The teachers were so sweet and helpful; we would highly recommend this class to anyone!
This was very well organized. The instructor was patient and clear. Everything was well done from the market tour to the food preparation and cooking.
The class was great, we did the half day evening class, you got to learn about the ingredients which are all really fresh. You didn’t feel rushed at all whilst cooking and the group you’re in is small enough that you don’t feel like a number!! Fresh ingredients, great dishes to choose from but do not eat a thing before you go as you get loads of food out of it! Takeaway offered as well if you’re too full to eat any of it there!
The class was fast paced and so much fun! Our instructor was funny and kind to all levels of experience with cooking. Mama Noi’s garden is also super cute and fun to walk around in while they prepared our ingredients. Food turned out super tasty, probably our best meal in Chiang Mai!
Such good fun and well worth every penny. Peanut was very informative and made the whole experience easy and fun. Cant wait to try the dishes when we go home!
I would regretted a lot if I missed this class All the staffs were so nice and gentle and food tasted better than any other restaurants
The class was awesome. The food was delicious and the instructor was great as well. It was a great time.
It was a Sunday morning well spent at the cooking class with my husband who can’t cook and my adult son who wants to start cooking more often. Except for the flies( cos it’s that time of the year, we were told ), it was an enjoyable time learning to stir fry, pound the curry ingredients which gave off fragrance almost immediately and picking up some useful tips for thai cooking. They have a lovely garden with a pond, nice environment. And they provided transport , which was helpful.
We love my family and me this classroom . It was really fun and the dishes were very good
This was a great experience in Chiang Mai, there were multiple options and the class was very interesting and dynamic. The location is super nice as well, on a little farm where they grow their own produce. Very friendly team. Highly recommend!
A great experience cooking Thai food in the place that is extremely well managed. The best activity we had in Thailand!
Peanut was nice and devoted. The half-day program was well organized. The place where we cooked was nice as well.
We had an amazing time at Mama Noi's cooking class. We made 3 amazing dishes, you can select which dish you would like to make, and we were so full from the first two that we weren't able to finish eating the third dish. The instructions were quite easy to follow and Peanut, our instructor provided a very entertaining and enjoyable class. Highly recommend this experience and one of the best pad thai we had in all of Thailand!
My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience. The staff was funny and friendly. I’ve never cooked such delicious food. Couldn’t have been a better experience!
Food was excellent! I never thought that ill be coming home with the knowledge of cooking Thai cuisine. Even though i am not a professional cook, the lesson was advance however the instructor helped me understand and follow and the process patiently. We had a tour at the local market and the school's own organic herb garden. The staff were very accommodating and we got to share some good laugh, great conversation and topics under the sun. Then we all feasted with delight and great taste.
My friends and I adored this class and learned so much! The trip to the market was just a quick stop (the school already had all the ingredients) but was a fun detour. The farm is beautiful and the cooking pavilions are large and well organized. Our cooking teacher, "Peanut" was friendly, funny, and spoke impressive English. They laid out all the ingredients for our choice of dishes, and described each one, then walked us though preparing each course. Everything we made was delicious! Don't worry if you can't eat everything in one sitting; the kitchen can package your food to take with you. At the end of the class they gave each of us a beautiful recipe book, so we can make these recipes again one we get home.
I loved every moment of this experience - thank you Mama Noi! The hosts were awesome, hilarious and had a wonderful energy about them. It was a pleasure being in their warm and vibrant hospitality and the food was knock out!
The course: We took the evening cooking course (17:00-21:00). It begun with pickup between 4 and 4:45, and they arrived roughly 4:30. We then picked up other guests and had a short visit to the market where the cooking instructor met us and showed us the fresh ingredients we’d be using, when they are typically used and what flavours they contribute, and we passed them round. We then had 15 mins to explore the market. Contrary to some other reviews I enjoyed this experience and thought it added a nice touch. We then drove to the farm based cooking course and sat down in our groups to pick the 3 recipes we individually wanted to make. One soup, one stir fry and one curry. We also had the choice of vegetarian option with tofu vs meat. Essentially we were organised into a few groups colour coded by plates, and the instructor was able to simultaneously instruct us all despite our dishes being different. I appreciated this, as it helped you appreciate the similarities between dishes and how certain Ingredients form the backbone of Thai dishes. I appreciated how vegetarian substitutions/options were offered for every applicable ingredient. We then all ate the food we cooked. We also made Thai tea, which was delicious. We were also given at the end a cookbook of all recipes on offer in all courses (half day morning and evening, full day) and then drop off back to the hotels. Overall comments: Very pleased with the value for money of the course, including pick up and drop off, the cookbook, and a very large amount of good food to eat including the option to take the last course (the curry) home if we were too full up. The cookbook was very good, including details of all the ingredients with pictures, the flavours they contribute, the curry pastes, and the dishes. Love it! The course itself felt a bit rushed, as 3-4 different dishes being cooked by different people, but (having never done a cooking course before) I would assume this is very much the norm in these cooking schools if people are offered the choice to cook their own menu. The instructor is excellent and managed it well and I didn’t feel neglected or unable to keep up.
Loved the idea of going to market but would have enjoyed more time exploring it as many of the fruits, vegetables, and spices are not known to those of us from diverse backgrounds. Overall, fun time cooking and learning. Aime was entertaining and friendly. Thank you for the opportunity.
We took the half day class and we loved meeting the people in our group and learning to cook the Thai foods! Our guide was great at teaching and the food was delicious! I would recommend this to anyone, even if you don't love cooking! It's a great experience for anyone.
