Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The ingredients are simple but the process can be somewhat complicated. I find the difference in sweet making from country to country very interesting from a baking perspective, and Japan is no exception! Can recommend this to anyone interested in the art of Wagashi, and interested in how it is made to know themselves!
Thank you Miyuki and Simply Oishii for a fantastic experience. If you're looking for an opportunity to learn about Japanese ingredients and cooking techniques there is no better way than a class with Miyuki. Miyuki teaches you about more than just the dishes you will cook, she also teaches you about culture, the purpose behind the techniques that you are using, and offers great suggestions for places to eat and shop all over Tokyo. I am looking forward to the opportunity to return to Japan and cook with Miyuki again!
I had a great time. Our teacher was excellent and I really enjoyed the finish product.
She speaks English very well. Tells you how to make the dough and what you need to do if it comes out not the way it supposes to. You also get the recipe on paper so you can try it at home. The sweets taste good. Even learned a few tricks for my sculpting hobby.
The sensei demonstrated well the steps of making mochi. I wish there is a cook top for each student so we can have a better hands-on experience. Having said that, the class was well run and fun! I enjoyed it very much!
Private class (two people) with our gracious and wonderful host Miyuki. Learned how to make tasty Gyoza in no time! Clear instructions, perfect English, thank you for the great experience!
