Immerse yourself into a hands-on, farm-to-table experience with our unique cooking classes set on our agricultural farm.

You'll get to pick fresh vegetables right from the farm (depending on the season), cook them on the spot, use local spices, and eat on a banana leaf. You will learn old cooking techniques, using banana leaves to wrap food, smoking food in rice straws, clay pot cooking, etc.; connecting you with time-honored methods.

Feel the coziness of an open fire as you prepare and enjoy the flavors of a farm-fresh meal that you've created. Join us for an unforgettable culinary journey that highlights the beauty of local and sustainable cooking practices, celebrating the essence of food that comes straight from the source. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the farm's surroundings and learn skills that bring you closer to the roots of authentic, delicious cuisine.

We do not offer a set menu but decide on the menu depending on the harvest of the day.

Menu

Appetizers:

• Create salads with mixed greens, flowers, herbs, and light vinaigrettes to awaken the palate.
• Prepare vegetable-based dips like hummus, baba ganoush, or salsa served with fresh-cut veggies.

Soups:

• Craft comforting soups using seasonal vegetables as the base, using local spices.

Main Courses (select 1 option):

• Prepare dishes that highlight the vegetables' natural flavors. 
• Prepare vegetable curries, or stews using a medley of seasonal produce.
• Prepare Goan Fish curry, if we have fresh catch from the river.
• Smoked Fish in paddy straws

Rice-based dishes

We are a rice farm during the monsoon period (June-Oct) and we will integrate rice into our meal plans.

Desserts (Our intention is to introduce the participants to rice-based deserts):

• Kheer
• Coconut Rice Balls
• Rice Ladoos

Beverages:

• Infused water with slices of cucumber, lemon, or herbs for a natural and flavourful beverage.

The menu is thoughtfully customized to match the distinct flavors of the season.

Schedule

10:30 am: Arrive at The Art Farm.

10:45 am: Organic Farm tour and learn about our rice cultivation and about our Permaculture and Polyculture farm.

Learn how to make Ghee.

12:00 pm: Start cooking.

2:30 pm: End of the class.
