Join me, a passionate local home cook from Varanasi, for an immersive culinary experience where you’ll explore the rich flavors of authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine. In this class, you will learn to prepare traditional North Indian dishes using homemade spices that bring out the true essence of Indian flavors.

We’ll create a variety of dishes, including:

Home Cooking by Sona

Just wow! Sona is not only an incredible talented cook, she cooks from the heart and with passion, and with that exact amount of humour and professionally. She shows you in her own perspective how to make tasty home cooked Indian food, she gives you time to learn and the space for asking questions whenever needed. Tips & ticks are freely given and her food secrets are getting shared... If you are looking for that one cooking class, go to her! I left with a happy belly and new gained knowledge about (street)food, Varanasi and Indian customs :)

Amazing to make authentic Indian food.

Myself and my two friends had an amazing experience learning to cook Indian dishes with Sona. The food was all freshly ready and Sona was extremely helpful and informative in every step of the way. The end result was delicious!! We highly recommend a cooking class with Sona when you’re in Varanasi

The cooking class with Sona was one of the highlights of our trip to India.

We were googling cooking classes in Varanasi and Sona’s class popped up. It was super easy to arrange everything online, Sona gave us instructions on how to find the place and so we arrived. We opted for the Thali cooking class and this was one of our go to meals during the trip. We cooked Dhal, Chana masala, rice and chapati. The whole experience was very hands on and all of us had a go with preparing the meal. Sona is a great cook and it translates into the meals and the cooking class. You can really tell that she enjoys what she’s doing. The cooking was accompanied with stories and lovely conversations. At the end we managed to create a really delicious meal. If I am ever again in Varanasi, I will definitely sign up for another cooking class.

Must do for Indian Cooking Experience in Varanasi

We had such a lovely time at this cooking class with Sona! Sona and her family are incredibly hospitable, allowing us to choose our menu to cook. The experience was a lot of fun and food was superb!! Sona is located at Azure Family Guest House, so easy to get to. Thanks for having us!
