About

If you want to discover, taste and learn how to make typical recipes of Sicilian and Italian cuisine, then this is the right experience for you!

I will make you discover and love making fresh pasta and its sauces. We will make three types of pasta together, one of which is stuffed. You will learn to cook these typical dishes of my land.

We will start by enjoying a fresh aperitif with typical snacks from my region. We will cook together and eat the prepared pasta, seasoned with typical Sicilian sauces. In my kitchen you will always find dishes based on vegetables from my garden or from local producers. Vegetables are important and fundamental ingredients in Sicilian cuisine, in fact you will be able to use and taste the extra virgin olive oil I produce.

After preparing and cooking we will sit in the garden to enjoy our dishes while sipping a fresh wine and an excellent coffee.

Francesca

Hi. My name is Francesca and I live in Bagheria, just outside Palermo. I consider my relationship with cooking a great love story, and my dishes are the fruit of this passion. I welcome guests to my bright kitchen located in my garden, filled with fresh herbs, lemons, and flowers. I teach cooking classes both in person and online, and I also offer private chef services. You'll find only local, organic, and seasonal products.

We will prepare three different types of fresh pasta:

Ravioli stuffed with local ricotta and seasonal organic vegetables
Fettuccine with your choice of meat or fish, paired with fresh vegetables
Sicilian cavatelli made with fresh, organic ingredients

Sip on refreshing local wine and end with a perfect Italian coffee.

Schedule

10:30 AM – Introduction and welcome aperitif with appetizers, bruschetta, and cheeses
10:45 AM – Start of the lesson with dough preparation
11:00 AM – Cooking session: sauce preparation
11:30 AM – Cooking session: shaping different types of pasta
12:45 PM – Cooking pasta and enjoying the meal together

What an amazing experience!

What an unforgettable experience! We celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday with Francesca at her beautiful home just outside Palermo, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. Francesca welcomed us like family and shared wonderful stories about her life, her family traditions, and the history behind the dishes we prepared together. The experience felt authentic, personal, and filled with warmth from start to finish. We learned how to make three incredible pastas from scratch, each with its own unique flavors and techniques. Francesca was patient, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel involved, whether they were experienced cooks or complete beginners. 100 times yes!

My boyfriend and I had a great time at Francesca‘s and would 100% recommend booking a cooking experience with her. She is a very warm and welcoming person who has a lot of experiences to learn from. The dishes were instructed very well and ended up being sooo delicious! We‘ll definitely come back when we visit Palermo again. ❤️

Book it!!

This was such a fantastic experience everyone should try this when they go to Palermo! Francesca has such a great kitchen and an even better energy. The class itself was a massive learning experience for me, and the food was incredible. Francesca makes it easy for all levels of ability, so don’t feel scared if you can’t cook at all! Francesca makes sure everyone is included. She has lots of experience and great wisdom and knowledge of cooking and Sicily in general. The train there is easy from Palermo, a little walk from the station but that’s fine. I shared a cab back that Francesca booked. Overall this is one of the best things I’ve done! Francesca is a fascinating person and I’ll remember this for a long time.

Really great experience!

Francesca made me feel right at home, felt like cooking with friends. Great tips and recipes and even though I am not a good cook the food came out delicious! Would definitely recommend. Francesca’s house is outside of Palermo so book transport beforehand.
