Learn the Insights of Mediterranean cuisine

You will learn how to prepare, serve and select the best ingredients to produce the best dishes in Spain. You will feel like home cooking with our Chefs in our creative space at the heart of Barcelona’s historical quarters.

The first step will be a visit to the one of the oldest markets in Barcelona, the Santa Caterina, where the locals go for buying fresh ingredients to the daily meal. Discover and taste the local ingredients that are presented to learn about the local and national gastronomy. During the tour, we’ll invite you to taste our specialties, like olives, Iberian ham, tomato, olive oil, chorizo, manchego cheese, tomatoes.

Back to school, you will learn the insights of Mediterranean cuisine with hands-on experience provided. You will see how a traditional Paella looks like, taste the Bravas potatoes with the best sauce you will ever, try a traditional Catalan sauce and literally put fire on the Catalan Cream.

Products we taste at the Market:

• Olive Oil – More olive oil is produced in Spain than in any other country in recent years. Try some of the most flavored!
• Olive – Gordal, Manzanilla, Arbequinas… know some of the enormous variety available these days and different creative way to eat.
• Jamón – Jamón ibérico is a type of cured ham, a true gourmet delight. Learn about the differences in jamones and taste the varieties: Ibérico, Serrano…
• Tomatoes* – Spain is a forerunner in the European tomato marketwith hundreds of varieties to choose from. It’s definitely an essential ingredient.
• Manchego Cheese – Is one of the world's cheeses with the most valuable history and heritage produced for thousands of years in the La Mancha region of Central Spain.
• Chorizo – Chorizo is a sausage that has many different varieties and is eaten all over Spain.
• Vinegar – Try different types of vinegar, and their bases.

About Santa Caterina Market is one of the oldest markets in Barcelona, Santa Caterina is where the locals go for buying fresh ingredients to the daily meal. Under the colored roof of the market (inspired on the Gaudi’s “trencadís”), you can find any produce, seafood, or meats as well as some interesting stalls for a quick bite.

***If you have any allergy or special diet, please let us know before the activity. The Chef can’t change the ingredients during the workshop, it compromises the quality of the activity and affects the other attendant
