Tangier Cooking Classes

In Tangier you’ll master classics like couscous, tagine, pastilla, harira, and street‑food favorites such as msemen and harira soup. The hands‑on class lets you taste each step from spice‑mixing to plating.

Yes, many cooking schools in Tangier tailor recipes to vegan, vegetarian, halal, and gluten‑free needs, using fresh local produce and traditional techniques.

A market‑tour plus kitchen session is ideal: you shop fresh spices and citrus at Souk el Tayeb, then return to the kitchen to prepare a tagine or fresh flat‑bread.

Most classes run 3–4 hours, with 6–10 participants. The small size keeps the experience intimate and allows plenty of hands‑on practice.

Most instructors speak English and offer bilingual guides. Some also provide Spanish, French, or Arabic for a fully immersive feel.

Always remove shoes before entering the kitchen, respect the strong spice levels, and remember that guests often share dishes, so be prepared to pass a tagine around.

During Ramadan or the Tangier Jazz Festival, chefs may showcase special tagines or couscous variations, giving you a taste of local celebration.

The personal interaction with chefs, the chance to walk through bustling markets, and the ability to take home a recipe card and a fresh spice blend make it unforgettable.
