Our Florence Market Walk & Traditional Tuscan Cooking Class is the perfect opportunity to explore the local food culture and learn how to cook authentic Tuscan dishes. Discover the rich culinary heritage of Tuscany and learn how to cook classic regional dishes with a hands-on cooking course. Immerse yourself in the world of Tuscan cooking, using fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes.

Our tour begins with a guided walk through the bustling Florence food market, where you'll see a wide range of fresh, seasonal produce, meats, and cheeses. Your English-speaking guide will explain the local products and their importance in Tuscan cuisine, and you'll have the chance to absorb the sights, sounds, and smells of this incredible foodie destination.

After the market tour, you'll head to the MaMa Florence Cooking School, where you'll meet your English-speaking chef for a hands-on cooking class. You'll explore the culinary techniques and traditions of Cucina Povera—the "peasant kitchen"—as you prepare a delicious menu of traditional Tuscan dishes, from appetizer to dessert. The class emphasizes high-quality ingredients and the importance of cooking from scratch.

Our experienced chef will guide you through each step of the process, sharing insights into the history and cultural significance of Tuscan cuisine, along with techniques and tips to help you perfect each dish.

You'll have a wonderful time making new friends in the convivial atmosphere of MaMa Florence, as you cook and learn about the rich culinary history of Tuscany. At the end of the class, you'll sit down to enjoy the delicious fruits of your labor and take home recipes to recreate your favorite dishes at home.

• Chef's Special Seasonal Salad
• Fresh-filled Ravioli or Tortelli with seasonal sauce
• Hunter Chicken/ MaMa's Meatballs/ Chickpea torte, roasted eggplant and veggies OR  Fresh egg tagliatelle with seasonal sauce
• MaMa's tiramisu

Variations:

• The menu of this class can vary: you might make 4 courses, including a pasta and a main course, or different shapes of pasta and no main dish
• If one of the class participants is allergic to gluten, all participants might use gluten-free flour for the pasta course.

Any allergies/intolerances or dietary requirements, such as vegetarian/vegan, must be communicated in advance. 

Programa

• 8:30 am - Meet your guide for the Market Tour before your cooking class
• 10:00 am - Arrive at school for a nice and warm Italian coffee before your cooking class
• 12:30 pm - Sparkling aperitivo in our garden
• 12:45 pm - Seated and served lunch with 2 fine wines 
• 2:00 pm – End of the experience.
