By taking our cooking class you will be whisked away back in time to the Medieval ages, where you will be taking your class in the birthplace of wine, the Tuscan countryside. Discover how to create true Italian cuisine as you prepare an authentic Italian meal complete with the antipasto to the dessert. You will also be given a chance to visit to the local Tuscan market to pick out fresh ingredients for you to cook with.

"Incredible - the best Tuscan experience we could have asked for!"
We absolutely loved this intimate cooking class with Anna and Valentina. They were both so generous and incredibly welcoming. It happened to be my partner's birthday and they made sure that it was a very special day - going above and beyond. They even surprised him with a gift. We loved hearing about their grandmothers and the traditional meals they would prepare together. A true Italian experience and one we will remember forever!
It was a big group, but expertly handled by two experienced guides. I am fairly confident we will be able to make our own pasta from now on: and some great tips. We brought our teenage daughter... Probably not best for anyone younger than 18. Still, she had a great time and a lot of the jokes went over her head. Five stars for sure... I would most certainly recommend it. (Esp for groups of friends).
This cooking class was awesome. You are in groups of 6, so if you are in a bigger group than that you will need to split into smaller groups for the cooking, but you can come back at the end to eat together. Instructions are clear and easy to follow & the dishes tasted amazing. We loved being able to take the recipes home with us at the end also.

My partner and I undertook a pizza and gelato-making class, handled by some excellent and professional staff (Angela, Titiano, and Thomas). This team made us feel extremely welcome and adhered to our every need, their skills and knowledge were impressive and they made sure to share the process down to each individual detail, the experience was truly noteworthy and we would recommend the class to anyone able to part take and it worth every penny. Luka is a sensational guide! He is hilarious yet he provides valuable cooking tips, sights and restaurants to visit, and historical information. Carmella was also great in connecting with the group and enjoying the joy of cooking and sharing our experiences with others. We are truly grateful for one of the best tours we have ever been on! We are enthusiastic travelers and have been on many tours, but we have rarely had this much fun for 6 hours. Thank you so much for the opportunity to experience this! Love ya’ Luka❤️
We really enjoyed our experience, the market tour was really nice and the lesson was very well explained and super fun!! We recommend this activity!! We prepared bruschetta, pasta, turkey, and tiramisu.
While in Florence, my partner and myself did the pizza and gelato making class. For starters, we arrived at a wonderful location in the countryside of Florence with beautiful views over looking the city and the Tuscan hills. We were welcomed with a glass of wine and a slice of focaccia bread which was delicious and made by the chefs. While enjoying this, Max one of the chefs took us through their garden and showed us their fresh produce. We started the evening making gelato. Max was wonderful with explaining things and helping us through the process. Every group made a different flavour gelato/sorbet which was shared and enjoyed at the end of the evening. The pizza chefs were also fantastic, friendly and engaging. They took us through the process of making an excellent pizza dough and we had some fun flipping the dough in the air. We got to make our own individual pizza with our handpicked toppings and this was enjoyed with a glass of red wine and a breathtaking view of the hills. For dessert we enjoyed gelati. The whole experience was fantastic- fun, engaging and hands-on. I would highly recommend this class for anyone wanting to learn how to cook pizza and gelato and for the experience. Hats off to the chefs for their brilliant cooking skills and techniques that were shared with the class and keeping everyone happy and entertained. Definitely an experience to remember!
From beginning to end this excursion was perfect. Incredibly well organized and communication was great! Thomas, Tizian, and Gloria were the most gracious hosts. Funny, informative, and professional. The food was fabulous and the view was even better!
A must-do for your time in Florence!
The entire experience was absolutely amazing. Since it was a private class, the chef was very flexible in changing the menu to fit our taste and taught us some new items that wasn’t on the list.
I highly recommend doing this class. It’s totally worth the extra we paid for the private classes.
The staff and everyone with our group was super nice. The directions clear with a little back story as well. It’s very fun for families of any size. The food turned out great and we even met some wonderful people.

I’ve never done a formal cooking school and this was a tremendously enjoyable time! I learned new tips for making pasta, techniques on how to fold ravioli, how simple it is to make focaccia, different rising times, and how to butcher a chicken, the right way. If only I could have done a week, and maybe some day a month or school! Our chef, Alberto, was engaging, patient and made the day very impressive.
The estate was rich in history and the owners of the school were absolutely lovely. Highly recommend for anyone that loves food and/or cooking!
This was one of the best meals we had during a 2 week trip in Italy, and we cooked it ourselves! Francesco is a wonderful and entertaining host. We are grouped 6 people to a station which was fun to interact with others. The menu was delicious and we learned so much about Tuscan cooking and cooking in general! It is truly hands on, not just you watching over the shoulder of someone. This is a must when in Florence.
We met at a market and bought fresh veggies. We went to a cheese shop in a cellar and learned about and tasted cheeses. Then we got to the kitchen and we made three or four recipes. The instructors were super helpful and even sent us the recipes after. The food was delicious. They made us snacks and wine for our break. 10/10.

My wife and I had the best time in the Market Tour and Tuscan Cooking Class at MaMa Florence! The market tour with Silvia was so insightful and it was so fun to see the variety of fresh locally sourced food, the many different vendors and to sample some of the local meats, cheeses and truffles. She also shared so many great tips about Florence - we wish we would have done this at the start of our vacation instead of at the end!
The Tuscan Cooking Class with Stefano was a total highlight of our trip! He was such an amazing and patient instructor and it was a hands on experience to prepare each of the four different courses. It was my wife's birthday so he put a candle in our dessert and played happy birthday over the bluetooth speaker to celebrate. Such a thoughtful gesture!
I would totally recommend doing this - it was so memorable to spend this time together learning about and preparing our meal. So much fun and one of the highlights of our vacation!
We were a big group (13 members) of family members from grandpa, to kids and grandkids. We are really enjoyed the pizza and gelato class that Cris, Tiziano, and Arla gave. It was super fun and engaging. Everyone was really happy and enjoyed it, to th point that it was the highlight of the family trip to Tuscany. Thanks for creating fantastic memories for our family.
My daughter and I attended the pizza and gelato making class. Although I've made pizza for years, I learned the Italian way, and can't wait to make it at home! We also really enjoyed getting to know the other participants. We had a great time! Highly recommended!
When my wife told me she had signed our family up for a gelato and pizza class my first thought was, well good for you three. I assumed that it would be a rudimentary class for hobby cooks. As a chef who spent much of my career in fine dining I was very pleasantly surprised and completely wrong with my preconceived notions. The class started in the garden with a great glass of white wine and a piece of focaccia which was amazing. If only I had the good fortune to have a garden like that.
On to our gelato class with Max, he was great energetic, happy to be there and seemed to really enjoy teaching a group about gelato from the technical aspects while keeping the fun and whimsy alive with passion for his craft. I learned a couple of cool tricks that are definitely adds to my tool box. The product we were given was top notch and everybody's gelato turned out amazing.
The pizza class lead by Thomas and Tiziano was fun, informative from again the technical side of dough making with hydration %. Thomas was genuinely funny and lead the class with skill and humour. It was easy to see that all who attended got a lot out of the class and made great pizzas.
The pizzas were excellent as was the gelato and seconds of the former were had by all and I can honestly say all the flavours & recipes were spot on.
I would highly recommend this class for anybody wanting a fun, informative and well spent evening either on your own or with others.

I joined this family cooking class with my mother and my 7 year old daughter. We had a fantastic time and learned some very useful cooking recipes and tips! We were so inspired by the class that when we returned home to Amsterdam we immediately bought our own manual pasta machine and are now enjoying homemade fresh pasta, thanks to your class!
Luca was so much fun that he made us forget our cooking class was being held on a 100 degree+ day! He taught us where to go and what to purchase to make a scrumptious Italian dinner. The cooking class was held at a dreamy location on the top of a foothill overlooking Tuscany just outside of Florence. We laughed all day and left with great memories and the knowledge and skills to make our own complete authentic Italian dinner.
We loved the gelato and pizza-making class with Angela, Thomas and Tiziano. Everyone was extremely professional and we had so much fun. The location just outside the city was great. One of the best parts of our trip— we can’t wait to try making some at home!

We (2adults) attended the family class - I was a little concerned we had booked a children's class with the name. But it was perfect for us and making pasta, pizza and gelato was wonderful. Can't recommend enough for food lovers.
The chefs were so lovely!--patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. We were the only vegetarians so they substituted one of the sauces with a delicious truffle option. They created a fun, teamwork atmosphere and made everything really accessible. My partner and I can't wait to buy our own pasta press and try all the recipes at home!
I have done several cooking classes around the globe and this is one of my favorites! The experience through Walkabout Florence was fantastic. Loved walking through the market to buy our ingredients. The farmhouse location could not be beat with a charming Tuscan feel in the state of the art kitchen. The full glass walls in the dining room allowed us to really see the beautiful countryside just outside of Florence as we dined. Excellent recipes and honestly we made the best ragu we had the entire trip! I recommended highly! Olivia and Carmela were fantastic!
A must do when in Florence. Super friendly team and the cooking experience was informative and fun. Very much enjoyed every moment of it and the finished product was delicious. Would definitely recommend to others.
Tommaso was the star. A great teacher full of passion and professionalism. We were simply delighted by his charming stories and explanations. As a family we all enjoyed the course and got to know that we were his first Italian group.
We had a really enjoyable evening and got to learn all we wanted about cooking pizza!
We spent the day with Dario, our tour guide, and were lucky enough to have no one else on the tour except us.
We saw three wineries in the most picturesque locations one could possibly imagine. There, we learned about Tuscan history and the winemaking process, and of course tasted plenty of delicious wines.
Since we explored the Chianti region of Tuscany, most of the wines were delicious Chiantis, but there were merlots and dessert wines available as well.
Dario was the best tour guide we could have asked for. Not only was he very friendly and knowledgeable, he was fluent in English and conversational, which kept the tour interesting and engaging. He truly made this one of the best days of our entire honeymoon.

The trip to the marker was great, our chef talked to us about what was in season, how to pick the right vegetables for the dishes and gave us exciting and wonderful options of what too cook. I could not decide!
The time in the kitchen was lovely and we learned a lot, he took time to explain, and in the end we had a lovely meal.

Manuela was most welcoming and very accommodating. We felt very much at home as soon as we entered her apartment and all the dishes we learned to make were delicious.
Throughout she was very friendly and took time to answer all sorts of related cooking questions. We particularly loved making the pasta using the 'chitarra'.
Looking forward to going back before too long to cook some more amazing Italian food.
