Chioggia is a lively and colorful fisherman’s town acting like the south mouth of the Venetian Lagoon where life still moves slow, fisherman boats lye in the canals in the middle of the town, and traditions are respected. This is a place where locals still carry on centuries-old traditions and care about cultural heritage as much as they care for their family, their friends and their products, with new generations still growing this, at times, morbid relationship with the sea, the lagoon, the surrounding farms, and our foods.
To balance the effects of mass tourism in Venice we organize Day Trips from Venice and the surrounding Art Cities in Veneto to Chioggia, making the best of the 100 square kilometers south Lagoon pioneering an inverse tourism route usually going the other way around. We married a sustainable form of tourism able to protect and willing to cherish the local, centuries-old, Cultural Heritage.
