This cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip. The food we prepared was absolutely delicious, but what made the experience truly special was the education that came along with it. I learned so much about Thai ingredients, cooking techniques, and the cultural significance behind the dishes we made. Aey was a gracious and welcoming host who opened her home to us and provided an authentic Thai cooking experience. Learning to cook in her home rather than a commercial setting made the class feel personal and genuine. She was also incredibly patient and accommodating, especially with the two young boys who were participating. Aey made sure everyone felt included and adjusted the experience to accommodate our different tastes and preferences. Her warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail created a fun and comfortable environment for everyone. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in authentic Thai cuisine. You’ll leave not only with delicious food, but also with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Thai cooking and culture.

Spoiler my boys with kindness and great cooking and even drove us back to our hotel. Wow!

What a wonderful day we spent with Chef Aey, learning to cook the most incredibly delicious Thaï specialties! After taking us for a tour at the local market, we were introduced to the secrets of Thai cuisine and then prepared an absolutely delicious 4-course meal. Chef Aey is such a warm, kind, witty and authentic person. This was the highlight of my visit to Bangkok! You cannot come to Bangkok without taking a cooking class with Chef Aey! An absolute must-do! Thank you so much Chef Aey!

We loved our class with Aey. She is a great lady, good teacher and fun. We went to the market with her first and i would absolutely recommend that it takes your class to another level. We cooked and ate at her house, outside for the cooking (in the shade) inside for the eating and lessons (aircon) She took her time and so did we. Best is that you are not in a hurry because then you will learn so much more! The dishes we coocked were delicious! We discussed with her before what we would like to learn. It was a brilliant day thanks to her. Do not look any further because this is absolutely all you could possibly need!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this Thai cooking class! There were four of us in the group, and it felt like a truly personal and immersive experience from start to finish. The day began with a visit to the local market, where we picked out the freshest ingredients for our dishes. After shopping, we headed to her beautiful home where the cooking took place. The setting was intimate and inviting, allowing us to feel right at home. Throughout the class, she was not only informative but also super friendly and hilarious, making the whole cooking process feel relaxed and enjoyable. We learned how to make several traditional Thai dishes, and the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish we created was bursting with flavor, and the entire experience was one we’ll cherish. Ai picked us up and took us around the market. She bought us a Thai tea to try and kept us hydrated. Then she welcomed us into her home where she explained all of the ingredients and helped us cook delicious and authentic Thai food. She was so sweet with our kids and kept them engaged. Her daughter helped a lot with cleaning up and supporting her mum. It was such a lovely and genuine family experience- thank you for welcoming us into your home!

We had a great day with Aey: she picked us up at the mrt station and we went to a market where we had the opportunity to try new things and get to know an important part of the Thai culture. At home she told us many things about the Thai kitchen and how to use the ingredients. As it was only the two of us, it was a private atmosphere we really appreciated! The class with Aey was great for the four of us (family with two 12-year-olds) What we really liked about it was the setting in a home rather than a formal cooking school. The kids enjoyed squeezing out the coconut milk, preparing prawns, and stir frying the ingredients in the woks. Final dishes were delicious. Too much food! There were four courses over the span of 5 hours (including a visit to the market to buy food). If you're looking for a smaller group setting in a more relaxed environment, this is a great class. Aey was wonderful and took a lot of care in helping us all prepare the dishes and explain the core aspects of homestyle Thai cooking.

Aye was simply wonderful. She puts her whole heart into it and is also an incredibly funny and easygoing woman. She taught me the basics of Thai cooking and how to prepare the most delicious dishes—the kind you’d normally only find in the best local restaurants. She even introduced me to fruits and vegetables I had never seen before, buying them just so I could try them. Having the class in her home created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you don’t feel like opening your own restaurant afterward but still want to experience Thailand in the most authentic way, you absolutely have to go to her!

It was awesome! She is a very nice lady! She picked us up at the metro station and drove with us to a local market (no tourists - only us) we bought ingredients and she showed us a lot and explained all the ingredients. She also bought us water, Thai Tea and a little dessert for breakfast. She even took wonderful pictures throughout the day aswell! We asked her a lot of questions and she answered all of them. (also none cooking related questions) At her house she showed us even more ingredients and explained a lot!! We made four different dishes. All vegan. It was quite simple to cook vegan meals in the Thai kitchen when you know which ingredients you have to swap out. She also told us how we can supplement ingredients we can't find at home. The taste was amazing!! Best mango sticky rice of my life. She was very nice and funny! It really was more than a "cooking" class. It was a culinary experience 😊 Learned a lot and we could cook every meal to our personal tasting. She always said: You should cook to your taste 10/10 would do again!

my 15 yr old was keen on learning Thai cooking , was a little nervous dropping my child to an unknown class in a new country as a tourist , but the host is such a great human being , she took care of him , picked him up and also went out if the way to drop him back , not only did he come back with amazing skills in authentic Thai cooking , he made new friends and wanted to go again , unfortunately we were travelling back the next day , planning to send him for the whole week next time , my son's still talks about it

The lessons were very individualized, beginner friendly and informative. We turned out delicious food and I learned a lot about the Thai ingredient groups. The instructor shared her cooking history and gave a lot of alternate ingredients when I go back to my home country.

we reserved for 1 adult and 2 kids, it was a great experience for the kids, it was their first cooking class and they enjoyed it so much, learning about ingredients, tasting them and cooking. chef Aey was worm welcoming and she explained every single detail with love .thai cuisine was very interesting for me and i enjoyed every minute’s, the time went so fast. if you are interested in authentic home maid thai cooking experience chef Aey is great choice.

From start to finish a fantastic experience.

We were so lucky to pick Chef Aey's cooking class, she is so nice, funny and full of life! We're a family of 4 and Chef Aey picked us up from the train station and took us to the market where she explained the different ingredients that we were buying. We then went to her home where we made 4 courses while Chef Aey explained Thai cooking to us and revealed more about her amazing life. Her English is very good, and she explained everything really well so that the kids could easily follow the techniques, from squeezing the milk from the coconut shavings to the pestle and mortar and stir-frying using woks. This was a genuine experience that we really enjoyed, and the memory will stay with us for a very long time. Thanks Chef Aey!

Absolutely great experience. It is at Aey's home so it's a true Thai home cooking experience. I learnt so much! Aey explains everything very well and structured, and I didn't only learn the recipes but also gained knowledge about the ingredients are their origin. I love to cook so I decided to take a Thai cooking class in Bangkok and I was attracted by the "localness" of this cooking class. Chef Aey was able to accommodate my last minute booking and I was surprised to find out that it would be a class with only me! She took me to her local market where I'm pretty sure I was the only non-local person there, explained all the different vegetables, fruits, meats and herbs. I didn't even know there were so many different types of "ginger". I was able to smell everything and understand why each ingredient is used in each dish. This class is much better than other cooking classes I've been to because it was in her humble home and she was such a gracious host, there also wasn't 10 other students and you actually get to cook and prepare your own food instead of pre-prepared steps by the chef. She took her time to explain how dishes are made and named... plus gave me some local desserts to try too! Everything I made also tasted so good! This was such an authentic experience which left me with a greater appreciation for cooking, Thai food and culture! I can't wait to make the dishes at home again.

Der Kochkurs bei Chef Aey war eine tolle Erfahrung. Wir haben bei Ihr sehr viel neues lernen können und man merkt, dass sie die Kurse mit sehr viel Herzblut macht. Sowohl beim Marktbesuch als auch beim Kochen selbst hat sie uns viel Hintergrundwissen mitgeben können. Durch ihre sympathische Art haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wir können einen Kochkurs bei ihr wärmstens empfehlen! Die Gerichte, die wir gekocht haben, waren wirklich lecker. Am besten bringt man auch genug Hunger mit, da die Gerichte in ordentlichen Portionen gekocht werden, was wir sehr positiv fanden.

The food we made was delicious! Chef Aey and I went to the market to buy the majority of the produce fresh. Since I'm vegetarian, she adapted the entire menu to that and explained what I could substitute for the meat and fish ingredients in regular thai dishes. We made tom yum soup with mushrooms, pad thai with tofu, green curry with tofu and mango sticky rice. I can only recommend her class, as she mixes her knowledge of cooking with vast explanations of the ingredients. I am happy I joined this class 🤩

Cooking Activity with Aye was just amazing. Trust me - You need to make this great experience when visit bangkok! In the morning you are going to buy all ingredients from a fresh local market. Aye is going to explain you everything about the herbs, spices, vegetables, types of rice and thai food in general. She is the expert in thai food. You will have a lot of fun, good conversation and dishes cooked by yourself like in a gourmet restaurant! The smell and taste was soooo delicious. This women cooks with so much love and happiness - Highly recommended! I will come back as soon as I am in Bangkok.

Aey is a very kind woman who takes her time to explain the cooking process from the market to enjoying what you have made. We first got the ingredients at a beautiful market were I was allowed to wander around by myself a bit as well, we took a tuk tuk to her house where she explained everything and prepared the dishes with me. The food was absolutely amazing! She talked about her country, her family and friends and it was just simply put a great experience.

The Market tour is not really a tour. So you have like 15min time on a market and can take pictures of things you want that she explained to you.

Excellent class! My teenage son and I truly enjoyed it. Chef Aey was informative about ingredients and methods, very friendly and more than anything else a FUN person to be with. This was my 3rd Thai cooking class in different parts of Thailand, and it’s the best one. I would recommend it !

Aye was very energetic, fun an full of knowledge. The information she gives is great but a little "rehearsed" - she will answer questions but there are specific details she wants to give. The market experience is not really a part of the class - it's short and she just lets you hang around the market for 10 min (she has most of the ingredients at home). Cooking itself is great, she does in a very structured way that helps understand and remember. Great experience 👍

Chef Aey was awesome! It was really great to have a cooking class and learn about Thai culture during cooking traditional Thai cuisine with Chef Aey. Luckily there were no visitors other than two of us, so we could have very intensive class with her. I was the one who did not really enjoy Tom Yum, but after this class, it became one of my favourite. Strongly recommend this class!

My son signed us up for a cooking class during our visit to Bangkok. I went in to the class with an open mind, but honestly expected it to be a long and boring day. I was pleasantly surprised to find the class to an absolute joy and the highlight of our trip. We met and walked to a local market to buy the ingredients for the class. Suthida then arranged and paid for us all to ride Tuk Tuks to her house for the classroom portion. Her house is in a nice neighborhood near the market and the first floor has clean eating area/classroom and multiple cooking stations. Suthida was excellent at instructing and providing background on the dishes. Her delivery was both knowledgeable, while being entertaining and funny. We had nine people in our group, which I imagine is the maximum due to the number of cooking stations. We all made Pad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yom, and Mango sticky rice. All my favorites. I could not believe what I cooked under the instruction of Suthida. The dishes looked and tasted better than what I’ve eaten at restaurants back home in the SF Bay Area. I kept completing myself and my meal, but the reason it tasted so good was Suthida’s excellent instruction. The day flew by and was fun and rewarding. It was a very local experience which was what I was booing for. I highly recomend you sign up for this class if you are interested in Thai cooking or cuisine. Thank you Suthida.

Though we booked at late evening  for next morning class, Chef Aey responded right away that there was room for three of us. The course started with an interesting market tour. Chef Aey brought us to a local Thai's market and showed us how to distinguish the best ingredients from stale ones.  We then spent few hours at the home of Chef Aey and had so much fun in cooking, eating and chatting. She is a great teacher, guiding everyone to stir, chop, taste,  smush and cook for our own meal. She taught us how to prepare ingredients,  how to adjust the recipes with different herbs and for less spicy too. The food we cooked turned out was very delicious!  Chef Aey also took photos and emailed to me shortly after the course. She sent me the recipes too.  Thai cooking class is one of my favorite things to do in Bangkok. It is a cheerful experience. Would definitely recommend this one.

Enjoyed the cooking experience with Chef Aey. This lady is so knowledgable and skilful with creating authentic Thai dishes. That being said she is really willing to share her knowledge me, explaining to me the philosophy of Thai cooking. Not one moment during my class was I bored, she allowed me to try out various techniques such as extracting coconut cream and milk from scratch. The out come was this super yummy coconut cream that can be used for various Thai dishes. Always been to Thailand but learning about the food and culture really changed by perception and understanding of Thai Cuisine. I'm now better able to appreciate Thai food because I have a deeper understanding of chefs consider when putting the dishes together. Also there are health benefits from the mix of herbs and spices used, but I'll let Chef Aey tell you more. Only sad thing is that there was only time for 4 dishes, I can't wait to visit her again and learn other dishes from her.

Really incredible! A wonderful way to see a more local Thailand and get off the touristy bandwagon. Chef Aey is so informative and kind and clear. Lots of photo ops. Such small class sizes it was me, a Canadian, and 2 Korean women. We were able to ask so many questions and she could tailor each recipe to our interests tastes and allergies. Could not recommend this enough. My favourite Bangkok experience so far. Highly recommend for solo travelers and other groups

The class was very good, Aey was really nice and funny an explained everything really good. I learned quite much about thai culture and how the thai kitchen works. The food was by far the best thai food I have ever eaten. Unfortunately the time was quite tight, so we did not spent as much time to do the cooking itself as I thought we would. Still, a very good class:)

I was the only man in a group of women with their girls. Aey was able to handle all of us. Her English is really good. The meals were awesome. The time at the market was short but it's so loud there - Aey is right - you hear anything if you have questions. I really liked the class and can recommend her offer. Best wishes Sascha

aey is a bit bossy and the market part is a bit rushed but the cooking and preparation part where amazing. I would recommend to drop the market part and focus on the cooking. I haven't received the promised recipies and Fotos yet

From the moment you meet Chef Aey you can clearly tell that she loves teaching and sharing her knowledge of Thai cuisine. Elle a su nous transmettre les bases de la cuisine thaï avant de nous apprendre à confectionner les plats en petit comité, et tout cela avec des notes pleines d'humour. I recommend it to all friends and families with children. Everybody who likes to cook and discover new tastes :) Aey is a perfect teacher - she express herself in a very memorable way so it easy to learn. Her english is fluent and she knows how to get to people. All experience in a domestic atmosphere.

Cooking class with Chef Aey is highly recommended. Although the class time is a little bit long for us, we had so much fun and enjoyed every section of the class. The foods were super delicious. I still miss them. Those foods are way better than other local restaurant in my opinion,maybe it's because they are made with traditional recipe. Chef Aey was kind and taught us many good cooking tips as well.

Cooking with Chef Aey was very enjoyable. She is very nice and provides interesting information on the ingredients for Thailand's most typical dishes. The food was very good too and it was a lot for 1 person! The class takes place at her home, that is near to the MRT and to the Esplanade shopping center, where you are dropped after the class.

A truly heartwarming experience. I went with my kids (11 and 14). Chef Aey treated us like friends she had invited into her home. She enlivened the class with personal stories and her wonderful sense of humor. You learn better when you are relaxed, she said. And we did! It was a hot afternoon and we skipped the trip to the market. Instead she had laid out beautifully the local ingredients, telling us the names of them all, their use, letting us smell them. The explaining, the cutting, the mixing was done indoors. And just outside that main room the woks had been all set for individual use. Her staff would come by at the perfect timing for a photo op. She later sent us all the pics along with the recipes and other tips she had talked about. It was just so much fun, getting to actually make 4 dishes for yourself, eating them, and really, just spending time with Chef Aey! My kids and I agree. We would like to go back to her place again.

The class was really awesome and I would strongly recommend it! The teacher Aey is super fun, open and knows a lot! We learned so much and the food she taught us was so yummy!

An enjoyable afternoon cooking class with plenty to eat too. We started with all the fresh ingredients and had a good introduction to Thai cooking. A very friendly host with good English. I was recommmend and it was excellent value for the price.

English, 日本語, 한국어 I took this class in the morning, which includes a market tour, learning 4 dishes, and eating them. You should take this class! I had a wonderful time here and i still can’t believe i made all the dishes. Aey has a long time experience in teaching and she is definitely doing a good job checking her students are following her well. The market tour was very interesting. I could’ve never done this by myself. There are so many ingredients that i don’t know and she explained them well. Also, she made the cooking process very easy to understand. The food i made was even better than the one i had on the streets. I will definitely recommend my friends to take her class. Thanks Aey for everything you’ve done today. I really had great time. このタイ料理のクラス、すごく楽しかったです。英語しか話せない先生ですが、教えることには長い経験を持っておられて、英語の単語、ボディーランゲージ、そして表情などを細かくチェックしてくれています。楽しむには全く問題ありません。素晴らしい先生でした。見たことのない食材がたくさんあり、市場の見学もとても楽しかったし、大変勉強になりました。なによりも、自分が作ったさほど複雑ではないタイの代表料理が、お店で食べる以上に美味しくて全くの驚きでした。帰って自分で再現するのが楽しみです。ぜひこのクラスをお勧めしたくて下手な日本語でも、韓国語でも作成しました。おすすめです😆 한국사람이 많이 오는 클라스라는 건 참가하고 나서야 알았습니다만 정말 재미있고 유익한 수업이었습니다. 태국에서 요리 교실을 찾고 계신다면 강력하게 추천드립니다. 영어만 할 수 있는 선생님이긴 하지만 강사경험이 길기도하고 말이 안 통해도 관찰을 통해 의사소통을 문제없이 하는 분이라 영어를 못하셔도 수업을 듣고 요리를 만드는데는 문제가 없습니다. 자기는 꼭 학생들의 눈, 표정을 확인하면서 수업을 한다고 하더군요. 아침수업을 들었는데 시장견학, 정말 재미있었습니다. 타이에 이렇게 식재료가 풍부한지 처음 알았네요 가지만 종류가 열개는 넘더라구요 정말 신기했습니다. 요리도 제가 처음 만든 타이 요리가 거짓말 안 하고 식당에서 먹은 요리보다 맛있어서 믿기지가 않았습니다. 팟타이, 똠양꿍, 래드카레, 코코넛밀크바나나 만들었는데 빨리 집에 가서 다시 만들어보고 싶습니다. 관광보다 요리클래스 들은 게 더 재미있었네요 체력소비도 심하지 않고 밥도 먹고 현지인이랑 얘기도 하고. 강력 추천합니다

One of the highlights of our Bangkok trip. I've been there many times but never thought to take a cooking class. This class is in quiet suburb behind Rot Fai market (itself worth a visit- one of the coolest markets in bkk). Chef Aey had great reviews and I totally get why. She has a vibrant, warm energy and loves teaching. She knows a lot about Thai cooking, has really strong English, and makes the whole session fun! If you love the diversity of Thai flavors, colors, and want to learn about the crazy array of vegetables, and how to whip up the Thai staples, don't miss this. It'll really change your trip!

Our leader for the day, Chef Aey, was personable, knowledgable, and committed to giving us a fun learning experience. We spent some time smelling, feeling, and tasting key Thai ingredients, like the four different kinds of ginger (yes, there are 4!), lemongrass, Thai basil, chilis, two kinds of lime), and coriander. Of course the very best part of our vegan Thai cooking class in Bangkok was the eating part! Between the two of us, we made five dishes: Tom Yam Hed, a pungent clear soup with lemongrass, Thai basil, and mushrooms; Tom Ka Hed, coconut milk-based soup with mushrooms; the classic pad Thai, but without the eggs or shrimp; green curry; and delicious mango sticky rice for desert. We are vegan and Chef Aey went out of her way to show us how to make the dishes without any animal products, too. Highly recommended!

Cooking with Aey is the ideal way to enjoy an authentic cultural and culinary experience. Aya didn't just teach us to follow her or the cookbook but how to be creative and understand the basic of cooking Thai food. What we love most is that she didn't have a fix menu. Aya took into account that we do not eat all products and offered substitutes. Our class started with a trip to a local market to buy fresh ingredient then we prepared meals. We made coconaut milk and curry paste completely from scratch. Aya explained to us which ingredients are obligatory in every dish and which can be exchanged. She told about the types of products, the recognition of herbs and much more. She devoted more time to us than she assumed the course scenario. You can see that she loves what she does. A day after the course, we received almost 40 page document with recipes and all information that we heard on the course, as well as photographs. It was an unforgettable experience.

Not similar to other cooking classes. Learn with a small class, even like a private class. Starting from visiting the local market, we exchanged a lot. Homemade coconut milk and curry paste rather than cooking with packaged ingredients. It is not just a class, it is an exchange. Excellent care of vegetarian also.

The teacher is so nice, funny and full of passion in teaching. Small group teaching which the teacher could pay attention to each single student, you could easily follow step by step. I enjoyed the class so much.

Chef Aey is so nice and kind! She took the time to explain every ingredient to us and we prepared the different meal from the beginning until the end. It was a great experience!
