Ant was our teacher and she had a huge sense of humor. She kept the energy in the class at a high level. We had an incredible time.

Nancy took us to the local market where additional products were bought for the cooking class. This was a very enjoyable experience seeing the abundance of fresh vegetables. Nancy did an excellent job demonstrating food preparation and cooking to the class. She was very pleasant and answered my questions and those of the other students. Her assistants were also pleasant and patient. During the time that I prepared and cooked my meal, Nancy and her team assisted me and the other students as needed. My cooking turned out to be delicious! I highly recommend Sompong Thai Cooking School.

Everything was as expected and better

I learned a lot in a short period, and got to eat some great food. Super great value for money, highly recommend for anyone who likes Thai food, even if you don't intend to cook it yourself, knowing what's in and how it's made is great!

It was perfect. We took a class on sunday 23rd of march, it was a perfect moment, Ant was really kind, funny, it's was like we were preparing lunch with all the family. I did the course with my son and we had such a nice time! We learned a lot about Thai food and the teacher was so kind, experienced and funny. The best part is that they were able to adjust our food for pescatarian and vegan diet and our food was amazing!!

There were six of us in the course. We were allowed to cook everything ourselves. Everything was explained clearly. The food was delicious. At the end, we received a cookbook.

My husband and I had a great time. June and the other associates were helpful, informative, and fun. They set it up for everyone to be successful preparing the dishes. The dishes were delicious. The market visit was a great and interactive experience. June was very knowledgeable and engaging. I liked being able to watch her prepare the food, and learn about the process and then to prepare our own dishes was perfect. Pleased to say the class exceeded my expectations. So glad we did this during our first few days in Thailand!

This was easily the best meal I had in Thailand and one of the best experiences. The group was a great size, english was easy to understand, every step and ingredient was explained with additional options for alternate diets or home countries that may not have some traditional ingredients/foods. Well beyond worth the money!

Our teacher was June and she was kind, knowledgeable, and super funny. I highly recommend Sompong Thai cooking school because it’s hands-on and you get to visit the market beforehand. The market is only a 2-3 minute walk from the cooking school. You definitely get your $$$ worth by completing this cooking course. A fun, engaging, and delicious experience with four courses. It starts with a trip to the market where you can watch vendors make coconut milk and coconut cream, learn how to select the best dried shrimp and shrimp paste, and discover that coconut sugar is extracted from coconut flowers 😯. The course introduces the main spices of Thai cuisine: galangal, ginger, turmeric, finger ginger, eggplant, bitter melon, shallots, lemon and its leaves, pandan leaves, sweet basil, spicy basil, and lemon basil. You&#39;ll even crush the leaves and smell the aroma of each spice 🤩. Back in the classroom, you&#39;ll start by crushing the spices, making Thai curry sauce, using it directly in curry chicken, preparing coconut milk dipping sauce for banana syrup, and dressing for green papaya salad (even how to carve flowers with tomato skin 😲). Finally, you&#39;ll stir-fry Thai noodles. Learning by doing, and eating as you go, it far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend it!

Nancy was kind, caring and informative chef- who enjoys teaching novice to advanced beginners. Regardless of the type of cook, Nancy encourages you to try something new.

Everyone was very nice and considerate, the food we cooked was delicious and it was great to see how to make authentic Thai food. I caught a cold unfortunately a few weeks ago which the staff noticed and gave me ginger tea. Absolutely best food ive ever made ill make many more back home now that i have their cookbook!

I booked this course as a birthday gift for my girlfriend during our Thailand vacation. Ant and her brothers did an amazing job in making this class an unforgettable experience. They were all very friendly, took pictures and set a very enjoyable mood. The location is very inviting, and the course was well prepared and executed. There is a good balance between watching/learning and cooking (a part together, then everyone by themselves), enabling everyone to get the maximum out of the experience. The choice of courses was a tasty one and we were very happy when everyone got a little cooking book (made with love) with even more recipes - all of which we were able to recognize while exploring Thai street during the rest of our vacation. The stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts we did here was the best non the less - really delicious! It comes to show, that Ant really is an amazing chef. I took this class several years ago and really enjoyed it. This time I took it with 2 girlfriends, and we all had a great time. Ant was our chef instructor, and she was very entertaining. I will probably be back in 6 months with my daughter to take the class again.

Teacher Ant and Mint are so professional and cute. They help everyone to finish their own dishes which taste awesome. The part about visiting the market nearby in the morning class is really recommended. You can learn the ingredients of Thai food in person and have time to do a small shopping. Therefore, if your time is allowed, the morning class is the best choice.

The teacher took us to the vegetable market to introduce the ingredients, and taught in a humorous way. Unfortunately, the first course is a bit lengthy, and the latter is a bit fast. Moderate deployment should be more ideal, but the teacher is interesting, recommended

Great way to spend a morning in Bangkok. All of the staff were super friendly and facility was nice.

We joined a private group class. The teacher was friendly and passionate, and she always keeps smile in her face. She introduced us different Thai ingredients and also some cooking techniques as well. The cook book was very informative too, all of us were very happy and enjoyed the class lots!

The entire experience was invaluable! Ant and her amazing crew made my first Thai cooking class and first visit to Bangkok, Thailand so fun and enjoyable. The trip to the market and the education I received about selecting proper ingredients will make it easier for me to create more flavorful dishes. The best takeaways were the cook book, techniques to cooking and how to properly eat Thai food. I met some really cool people too!

Our class with Sampong Thai Cooking School was everything we were hoping for! They taught us so much about Thai food and the components of Thai cooking and were wonderfully accommodating for pescatarians and vegetarians. Highly suggest taking this class!

This class far exceeded our expectations. What was different about this class from others I've taken is that I learned not only how to cook Thai food, but I learned about the difference between ingredients, what taste each ingredient adds, techniques for cooking, AND how to add garnish and enhance presentation. The cookbook has so much more detail than I expected. I now appreciate that by cooking only 4 dishes in 5 hours, what I gained was skills and education on Thai cooking, not just a cooking experience. Ant has to take a lot of credit for that. She's a marvelous instructor. I highly recommend this class!

The instructor was informative and truly passionate about teaching us about Thai ingredients and cooking techniques! She was engaging, had a great sense of humor and kept the class moving safely through all the techniques she demonstrated which we then we practiced. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the class thoroughly! We will take other classes soon to become more familiar with Thai cooking in such a pleasant and welcoming environment.

I cannot express the amount of detail and education that is shared in your Thai Cuisine cooking class. Everything is taught on a traditional culture level and not a textbook. My Chef Professor “Nancy” is a delight to be around, with a tremendous personality and great humor. She teaches on a high level of expertise and explained everything thoroughly and made sure all questions are answered as well as understood. University level English with great communication. It was obvious that her entire class was made to feel this way. Highly recommend this cooking school and if Nancy’s class is not full, your lucky, reserve and Take It! Morning class includes a bonus of local Market shopping with more education. They also offer different menus so you can take multiple classes and improve your education in Thai food. 👍👍🇹🇭

We were a group of 4 that attended the class. All of us had a great time. The cooking school brought the market to the cooking class which we appreciated as we had been sightseeing all morning. They explained the various ingredients which was very interesting and then we went on to cooking. All the dishes were fun and relatively easy to make and they tasted very good. We were absolutely stuffed at the end. The entire class was VERY well organized, structured and executed. There was no wasted time. The school team was constantly bringing ingredients, cleaning up, resetting for the next dish. A great experience all around and definitely highly recommend it.

Our instructor was very kind and helped us make some great food. We don't cook much so this class is great for beginners. We had a local market tour before we cooked and it was eye-opening learning all the ingredients and spices involved in Thai cuisine. It was a great class and I would definitely recommend going!

This cooking class is a must when visiting Bangkok. We began class with a trip to the local market where the hosts explained many different aspects of Thai cuisine, ingredients, and technique. Back at the school, there was thorough instruction made easily accessible for skilled cooks or beginners. My favorite part of all was the delicious food we made which included a variety of Thai dishes! This was a great experience and one of my favorite activities we did while in Bangkok.

We loved the detailed and passionate explanation by our master-chef! We were able to engage with knives and woks to produce our own individual dishes, each of us having the chance to spice things up to our desired level of enjoyment. We were able to accommodate a few last minute requests and ended up enjoying our self-prepared lunch all together on the second floor! I am most happy to recommend this experience!

I love cooking and been many country cooking class. This course was so fun

The guides and chefs were patient and did a lot of explaining of how Thai flavors come together - and stepped in whenever any of the guests had trouble with the techniques.

The course was full with so much new knowledge for me and the best part was that except the cooking it did not exclude and a lot of typical cultural things.

The Sompong Thai Cooking School team was informative, welcoming, and excellent teachers. The class was extremely well paced and organized and we cooked more food that we could possibly eat. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Our instructor was great. She was very attentive, very patient, informative and safety conscious. We took a brief tour of the market where we learned about done of the key Thai ingredients. We were issued aprons and given cooking stations. Each student has his/her own wok station. We watched the instructor give a detailed demonstration of how to make the fish, then we went o our stations and made our own dishes. In this five hour glass, we made a yellow curry paste, a stir fry, a yellow curry, and a chicken and shrimp salad. We used the sticky rice which the instructor made in a demonstration for mango and sticky rice. Great class!

Fay the instructor was amazing , funny, full of knowledge and a lot of fun. The class was spotless clean, the whole crew was highly efficient, helpful and nice. We recommend this coocking class with all our hearts. Even my husband who never cooks, made delicious courses. The meal afterward was very enjoyable.

The class was lots of fun, the teachers were really helpful and explained and demonstrated everything. The meeting point is a little confusing from the description (didn't help they were a little late arriving), basically you meet on the bridge section around exit 3... either look out for someone in a red apron or (like we did) lots of other tourists looking for someone in an apron! The market tour was interesting. Also don't worry if you arrive and there are lots of people, there are multiple classrooms in the building and you get split up into groups of around 12-15.

We had a group of four and we were immediately greeted and welcomed, we headed to the market and our host was Ant she was is so funny and had such high energy. We really enjoyed our whole experience and the food was amazing. If we are in Bangkok again we will definitely be checking it out!!

Far exceeded expectations. Interior was extremely clean, bright, air-conditioned. Our instructor Ant was clear - taught us a lot of basic techniques but kept the interest of the class. We each had our individual chopping board, wok, ingredients etc - all of the dishes are cooked individually except the mango sticky rice (and we made the curry paste as a group, which was fun). Class is well-paced. An entire recipe book with all the dishes (20 or so) is given at the start. Lastly the food was really delicious!!! We will definitely cook it at home. :)

We took the afternoon course which starts with explanation on the ingredients and where you can buy them. The cooking course was well explained.

We had a fantastic morning at Sompong Thai Cookery School learning to make 4 classic Thai dishes. We enjoyed leavening about ingredients in the marked in the morning and then cooking them up into a wonderful feast. The tutors were brill; patient, funny and clear. A ready supply of Thai and Lemongrass iced tea was provided and we got to take a recipe book home with us. Excellent morning, great value for money and I’d recommend this class to anyone!

The teachers are humorous and the class is interesting. I learned some of the herbs and the basic skills of cooking Thai food. Next time when I come, I'll join the class with Tom Yum soup.

Amazing teaching, easy to find (even if you're late from the usual traffic), the market tour was good and the demonstrations safe and easy. The cookbook is also one of the best parts!

Loved the cooking class. Ant walked us the nearby market to show us what ingredients to buy and how to tell whether they were fresh or not. Our instructor was extremely helpful every step of the way, going over each step of the cooking process, showing us in real-time and even giving us a little lesson on some Thai vocabulary. It was a great experience overall. Also liked how they provided us with a cookbook at the end of the lesson for our reference. Highly recommend!

Great content. The visit to the market and description of traditional Thai herbs and ingredients and their distinction from others was most helpful. Instructors were knowledgeable and personable. English language instruction was superb. It was a hands-on experience that was well orchestrated to help us learn techniques and principles of Thai cooking. I have attended too many such classes where one only watches as the instructor cooks. I chose this school for 2 classes because their menus had the items I wanted to learn to cook.

Good experience... I like it

We first went to a market with a very enthousiastic funny lady, she told us a lot about the different fresh ingredients we were going to use. This tought me a lot of things I did not know yet! Then we walked to the cooking school, which is lovely decorated and designed. You get to make all dishes of that day yourself, after the head chef demonstrated enthousiastically how to do it and explained what to look for during the cooking process. Afterwards we got to eat everything we made, and it was all so delicious. You are allowed to season the dishes as you like. First you get to taste the dish that the head chef made, and then you can decide for yourself whether you like it more or less spicy/salt/sweet etc. It was awesome and something to remember! Btw, you receive a nice booklet in which all of her recipes are written down and in which you can make your own remarks.

It was fun and easy, food was great, teachers were great. They had water bottles and fans for the market, cold sweet tea to drink at the school.

well organized, friendly staff

When you arrive the external appearance is less than impressive and lowers your expectation. Once inside the experience is great fun. The teachers are keen and engaging, involving everyone and at a good pace. We did the afternoon session and we guessed that the introductory (short) session about ingredients replaced the market tour. The practical session was excellent and you make more than you can eat. Great value, costs a lot less than many others. Hygiene and cleanliness was impressive.

Our family of four attended the cooking class to learn how to cook Thai food. We love the staff and the main teacher, Fai. Our 14 years old son was nervous but her good sense of humor and attentiveness put him at ease and he had a great time! We also celebrated our daughter’s sweet 16th Birthday. The markt tour was not what i expected. We went to a small markt and stopt at 4 shops to get some information about the ingredients we were gonna use. Once we went to the cooking class the real fun started. The instructor was great and everyone was very helpful. The food was awesome.

Learning to cook thai recipes at Sompong Thai cooking school was an amazing experience. The information presented was excellent and all steps in the cooking process were expertly explained therefore easy to follow. The kitchen class room was well set up , clean and organised. Enjoyed the cooking and the eating after!

The tour through the foods in the market was helpful and informative. Our cooking director was fantastic (funny and knowledgable of not only cooking techniques for Thai food but cooking in general). Would recommend to anyone traveling here especially if you don't have a ton of experience cooking and/or eating Thai food!

Scheduled to take the course on April 11 and had to reschedule to April 12, they made accommodations without any issues. The walk through the market in the morning was very informative. The course was very well organized and the instructor had a great sense of humor and made the cooking experience very enjoyable. I would highly recommend taking this course if you have not taken it before.

Superb insight into Thai quisine, culture and cooking. From beginning to end a professional outfit delivering top quality instruction, food and memories - I can't wait to put the knowledge learned here into practice at home. When looking around at which course to choose there are hundreds to choose from so we picked one based on the menu that contained the foods we've been enjoying the most whilst we've been in Thailand: Paneng and Pad Thai - we also got two extra dishes of Papaya salad and a banana desert. We found our way to the meeting point where we were met by a friendly member of the Sompong team who greeted me by name and safely loaded us and the rest of the group into his SUV for the two minute ride around the corner to the cookery school. Upon arrival the professionalism continued; we were provided with sandles to wear in the kitchen, an apron, cloth to wipe our hands, a cook-booklet and a bottle of water. We then had a full briefing on the session and layout of the class, from the most enthusiastic and friendly assistant. She then proceeded onto the initial content of the session. As we were the afternoon group the morning market was over so we were given a show and tell presentation on a range of typically Thai ingredients that we might come to use. This was brilliant for me and gave a real insight into the pallette of scents and flavours used in all of the dishes I've eaten in my travels. We were then given some great instruction in four fantastic Thai dishes (I shall omit the detail - you can learn for yourself when you visit) The kitchen was staffed with a team of assistants to seamlessly transfer between dishes and stages. The assistants helped remind us of timings when it was our turn to imitate. The final spread was something to behold (see pictures) and was super filling. We took away a supper in boxes to enjoy once we're able to eat some more!

Explained many ingredients of Thai cooking well. Steps to cook our dishes were clearly explained. Food variety was very good. Lots of staff to help you and keep the session activities going smoothly. A great experience!

It was so interesting to learn how to cook thai food and to experience thai culture! The instructors are so helpful and friendly. The facilities are very clean and neat. Also, all the ingredients were so fresh.

The class was really nice and interesting. We learned how to cook 4 different meals and we also got a small recipe book. The room was very bright and clean. The teacher was also very friendly and funny. It exceeded our expectations, definitely recommended!

We had such an incredible experience at the cooking school. The instructor Fye (I cant remember the spelling of her name) but she was so informative and friendly. We were shocked by the amount of dishes we were taught to make. The market tour was also amazing. Shopping and learning of the different foods and spices was really eye opening and gave an indepth look into Thai culture through food. Thank you for such an amazing experience. I am on my way back home to try all of the dishes we made. Hopefully they come out just as good!

I loved the class. The teacher was engaging, sweet and funny. Everyone including me were having a blast. All the school employees were so helpful and always smiling, taking our pictures, which is a very nice touch. I will recommend this class to my friends and maybe will take it again some time.

Our instructor had a beautiful sense of humour and we had so much fun learning about new vegetables in the market and how to cook new dishes. We were all so proud of ourselves for creating such tasty dishes. This is my 3rd class and I will definitely go again, and again, and again. It's a fantastic introduction to Thai food and culture, as well as being really enjoyable.

Well as a starter I’m not someone who writes reviews, but this experience deserves one! It was such a lovely atmosphere. The instructor managed to explain all the details and kept it fun, she also didn’t fail to make everyone laugh a bit. The menu was also good and easy to follow. So you feel like you really learned a lot and at the same time like you can actually master Thai dishes haha.

A must do cooking class, well organized, clean, super enjoyable, tasty food and great hints on preparing and cooking at home. We also received a cookbook to take home. We were taught to make 4 dishes and had prepared them together, each cooking your own dish, then eating together. Total of 12pax in our group divided up in groups of 4 and shared fun and laughter.

This is my second class. I enjoyed it. Staff pays attention even though there are many of us needing attention when hands-on.

This was the third class I have done, as I do one whenever visiting my son in Bangkok. Not only is it a wonderful learning experience with a fabulous teacher and her support team, it is also a lot of fun. The food you cook is amazing and easily duplicated once you are home, plus you learn tips to cook like a chef and learn about Thai culture. I will continue to take classes during future trips here. Thanks for a super fun time, once again. I highly recommend it.

Very fun cooking class at Sompong Thai Cooking School. I learned a lot, and look forward to preparing the recipes shown. The recipe book gift was a very nice surprise as well. Highly recommend.

Very informative yet so much fun! Instructors were knowledgeable and personable! Classrooms very clean and plenty of space for everyone. Loved this cooking class! It was perfect, I have no complaints and would highly recommend.

The class is super educational, and is amazingly well laid out. Staffs are very attentive, friendly, and crack up jokes every then and there I don't feel bored at all. It's very eye-opening to see the delicacy of Thai cooking. Plus, it's also child friendly. The family (a mother, and a daughter) sharing the same table as me seems to enjoy it very much. I feel a bit more confident after taking the class.

We did the class with the kids. People was very helpful with them. Dishes we cooked were very fine. Take aways were provided to cook some dishes back home.

The class was speedy, all so well prepared and through. We learned a lot in the class, and it’s kids friendly also. We cannot believe we get to cook and enjoy as many as 5 dishes! The class is long, but we get to eat in between, so I recommend to go with empty stomach. Very professional and sincere approach. I very much enjoyed.

This is great experience if you are into the local culture and food. I have been Bangkok a few times before and this is very first time taking cooking class. The instructor was fun and passionate and class size is a bit bigger than i thought, but still got lots of personal attention. Highly recommend and it is also a great value!

Experienced first class cooking with them! The group i was with were very funny and we laughed altogether while doing the class. I may not know them, but i think i found a quick family away from home . We learned a lot together, especially during the market tour. We connected with the locals, and the best part was cooking authentic Thai food. Who would have thought tourists like me would be able to cook such great food in just a day. This is highly recommended and will be back for more!

We're familiar with Thai cuisine and cook Thai dishes at home quite often, but Sompong Thai Cooking Class still taught us a lot we didn't know. The experience was very authentic and immersive and the instructors were very friendly and attentive.

The course is well arranged, and the instructor is enthusiastic. The most impressive part is that they introduce the essential elements of Thai cuisine in such an amusing way. Definitely would like to attend another class next time traveling Bangkok.

The morning class with the short market tour was awesome. The cooking classroom was set up very well. The four dishes were amazing. I highly recommend this class.

Loved the lesson on Thai spices and herbs. It was not just informative but very entertaining !! Same with the cooking lesson. Not only was it fun to cook but the teachers were entertainers. The ingredients were fresh and lessons clear to follow. Everything was clean and declious but we made way too much food!! It was delicious but too much to each so they offered to pack it up for us to go.

The lecturer is very clear in expressing how and where the different tastes of sweet / sour / spice / salty come from. This definitely helps us to add / reduce during cooking to suit our personal favour preference.

This class is a great introduction to Thai culture, from the market experience and information about all the new strange vegetables, to the very friendly, easy cooking instruction. I took a couple of cooking classes while in Bangkok and this was by far my favorite. It is incredibly well organized and the instructors were engaging and fun. The recipes we cooked were simple and delicious and we even received copies of the recipes for the entire week's menu. Highly recommend!

Loved this cooking class. The information was pertinent and helpful as an expat living in Bangkok. The cookbook includes pictures of spices used which is helpful when looking for them at the markets. The instructions and demonstrations were excellent and made it easy to whip up our own creations. I learned new prepping skills as well. Overall an excellent experience!

The course was easy to get to via the MRT and they arrived at the meeting location on time, after the course was finished it was a quick 5 minute walk back to the station. The meals we prepared were easy to cook and very tasty. The market walk was informative and worth while. I would recommend this course highly and definitely value for money.

A equipe da Sompong veio nos buscar no metrô, o motorista nos levou até o mercado onde a professora nos mostrou todos os ingredientes, diferentes tipos de especiarias, vimos a fabricação artesanal de leite de coco fresco,... Após o tour no marché, retornamos a escola. A sala era confortável, com ar condicionado, bebemos chá de lemongrass e chá Thai, cada receita foi demonstrada pela prof, podíamos experimentar e em seguida cada um precisava preparar seus ingredientes e cozinhar sua receita. Fiz outro curso de cozinha mas esse foi o melhor! Instruções bem claras, livro de receitas ilustrado. Amei!!!! Os melhores pratos da Tailândia são os dos cursos de culinária!

It was enjoyable to cook with different people and having a conversation and foods with them.

We werden netjes ontvangen bij het BTS-station en in een auto naar een verzamelplaats gebracht. Netjes, maar niet echt nodig. We hadden het stukje zelf ook kunnen lopen. Na afloop word je namelijk niet teruggebracht en moet je ook zelf lopen. Je krijgt een mandje met een flesje water en een waaier. Het eerste deel is een bezoek aan de markt. Je bezoekt drie kraampjes en hebt daarna 15 minuten de tijd om zelf nog wat rond te lopen. De kok laat je veel dingen ruiken en proeven. Het nut van de mandjes is mij niet helemaal duidelijk geworden. Ik had ook graag iets langer op de markt wilen rondkijken. Daarna loop je naar de kookschool. Het is een grote school met drie verdiepingen. Alleen de toiletten beneden mogen wat schoner er uit zien. Verder is het overal zeer schoon. Je begint met een welkomstdrankje. In ons programma stond dat je ook een snack zou krijgen, maar die kregen wij niet. Daarna begonnen wij met koken. Het is voordoen en nadoen. Je mag kijken, ruiken en proeven en daarna zelf aan de slag. Na afloop eet je alles wat je hebt gemaakt. Je ontvangt tevens een uitgebreid kookboekje. Je wordt niet teruggebracht. Je moet zelf te voet verder. Als je al iets van de Thaise keuken weet, neem dan een gevorderde klas bij een andere kookschool. Als dit je eerste keer is, boek dan hier. Het is goed georganiseerd, men neemt de tijd voor je, je leert voor het eerst Thais koken, je mag het opeten of meenemen en men is zeer vriendelijk.

The cooking Class was well organized and we were able to cook ourselves a delicious dinner. Everything has been explained in detail also the herbs and the other ingredients. Our teacher was very profesional and funny. During dinner we also had a very nice talk to the other participants.

This being my first ever Thai cooking class I really didn't know what do expect. Everything was perfectly organised: from pickup to stroll over the local market with explanations of different herbs, vegetables and the production coconut cream and milk to allocation of groups, menus etc. Our teacher Than was very knowledgeable and precise explaining everything step by step. The choice of dishes was fabulous and the preparing as a group and cooking as an individual was really great. It didn't feel like a cooking class, but rather being in a Thai family home with a rather large kitchen. Even the staff working in the background were brilliant, preparing and cleaning while we were cooking. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely go again for another course. Well done!

It was a great way to spend some time in Bangkok learning how to make a couple of local dishes. My teacher, Preaw, was competent, knowledgeable and quite funny. I was instructed upon booking to meet at Chong Nongsi skytrain station at 9am. But we didn't start cooking till much later. Perhaps there could be an option to meet at the cooking school and to skip the market visit if participants are familiar with Asian/Thai ingredients already. Overall, though, the class was a nice way to meet locals and foreigners, and learn more about Thai cuisine and culture. Thanks! Kim Singapore

This class is the best for many reasons. The teacher and the cooking school facility are both fabulous, the combination of recipies were outrageously delicious, and the menu was the best combination of any school in Bangkok. The market tour was valuably informative and educational. The opportunity to shop while at the market was greatly appreciated. The meetup place was very easy, and it was simple to get back to the people mover afterwards. So love the history of the school and wish the family the best of continued success! I am not sure hows the arrangment from BTS station to market, as a lady chef approached me and my friend at BTS station and sent us to meeting point vide motorcycles, but when I arrived at the meeting point, I was informed to walk to another block of building as there are many different cooking classes. A bit messy there. Apart from this, I do enjoy the visit to market and the cooking class conducted by Chef Prin, he explained very clearly each step before cooking and is a fun guy. I would like to give 5 stars rating to Chef Prin.

Really enjoyable, delicious food, great materials and fantastic and thorough instructor. The food was super fresh, really informative - we learnt o much even though we lived in Thailand for a number of years! Highly recommend going, and will go again!

Very well organized ! A very packed 5 hours and all were well spent ! From market to preparing real authentic curry paste, we managed to cook full four course Thai cuisine ourselves and they are all yummy !

Prin and the rest of the staff were patient, entertaining, and easy-going. We felt relaxed and at home yet learned a lot about Thai ingredients, cooking, and culture. I'm glad we chose the morning class that included the market tour because it added a lot to the experience. Pro-tip for party people... they take a 15 minute intermission at the end of the market tour to give folks time to buy things at the market or grab a coffee.... and the coffee shop just outside the market (Warm Up Coffee) makes great specialty coffee drinks and can and will will Irish it up for you.

Fun, informative and easy to do.

I cook, thai, but i am sure a better cook now. Market trip was very informative and interesting. In local thai, wet and dry food market. School was well equipped, clean and spacious. Each dish was demonstrated then you have to cook it yourself, and the best bit, eat it. A great way to spend a relaxing day in the city. The teacher was funny, and she certainly knew her stuff...the other staff were super efficient but friendly too. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to all. We had a child in our group, it really is suitable for everyone. It was very professional and our guide was brilliant, she was skilled, funny and made sure we were all at the same point throughout the class so no one got left behind. The trip to the market was great, it was a local market not a tourist market. We made so many meals we were all stuffed by the time the class ended! Great facilities, very clean and they have wifi not that you'll need it as you'll be too busy cooking! When we got to the school cold cloths and water was provided which is very much appreciated. Pleanty of photo opportunities throughout sontakenyour cameras. You make a few meals by yourself and a few in small groups which is fun. Easy to get to this class from the sky train and they meet you in aprons so you know who you are looking for and they drive you to the market to meet the rest of your group. The class is taught in English. You get a recipe book which has your dishes in and also lots of other Thai dishes to try. All in all a fantastic day we will never forget!

I can't really think of anything that could have made this class better. We started with the market tour, which was brief but full of some good information. Then we carried the ingredients (you don't actually do any of the shopping, but you are shown some of the ingredients you'll be using) back to the class. The classroom is extremely well organized, with a few employees working seamlessly alongside the main teacher. The teacher will start by showing you the technique, and then it's off to your station to mimic. They give you a cookbook which includes the recipe you're making, so you can follow along. They have wifi in the classroom, a nice touch. The teacher was extremely affable - funny and clearly an expert. I enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend.

We had a great time at an adternoon class. It was good to learn about the Thai specific ingredients. We'd chosen a menu to cook and eat, that was different to other Thai cooking we'd done - and we'd certainly learned a few things! The rest of the small group was great (12 in total i think), the location good, spotlessly clean, and the whole course ran like clockwork: very efficient We would highly recommend this course through Sompong Thai Cooking School.

I took the class together with my boyfriend and we were amazed how we could easily, and in a short time, prepare our favourite Thai dishes! The market tour was also interesting, they told us about the different kind of herbs and spices and you could also see how they made the coconut milk, cream and shavings. The cooking area is clean and our instructor was very clear in his explanations. He also made sure that it wasn't a boring dry class off "just-follow-the-steps"! We both loved it!

This class was great, very well presented, highly enjoyable, very highly recommended.

Irin has been assigned to our group. She is so funny and very engaging. Clear instructions were given and she makes cooking look so easy. Kudos to her and a job well done.

Nice teacher, good advise, make your life better

I took Wednesday class, depends on the day, the class is different. Thailand specific edible herb, process of coconut milk and important tips of cooking.... A lots of things I learned ! And that Instructor Koi-san was very passionate! Highly recommended !

The class was really awesome! I actually joined the class on the first day in Bangkok and it was great to know the ingredients and recipes before I experience other food. Loved the market tour as Teacher Prin explained in detail and easy. Cooking was so fun and the foods were really delicious. I will definitely visit again in next trip! Must try all of you who visits Bangkok!

We really enjoyed the cooking class at Sompong. We first went to the market in Silom, and the chef explained us about the ingredients. It was very interesting to learn more about Thai culture. The cooking class was then held at the cooking school nearby. It is very nice and cozy environment and I really liked our group, so much fun. The teacher is also very friendly and helpful. 5 stars, would do it again!

STCS was well worth it: from the market tour to the comprehensive easy to follow cook book with your individaul cooking station and to top it all, you will be eating all of the food you have prepared. The class teacher is very adept on the subject matter. 5 stars! I will definitely recommend to my friends who will visit Bangkok in the future.

Without a doubt the highlight of our 7 days in Bangkok. One can only see so many temples, but this school was amazing in every detail, and we had the best 4 course meal of the week. Highly recommend. 5 stars all around.
