In front of JR Umekoji Park Kyoto West Station, one stop on the Sagano Line from JR Kyoto Station, there is a central market for professionals, called Kyoto's kitchen, and nearby is a shopping district for local residents. We will visit the fish section of the Kyoto central market. This shopping street has

lined with individual stores such as chicken stores, grocery stores, fruit shops, fish shops, butcher shops, Japanese sweets shops, toy shops, lunch box shops, cafeterias, and commercial kitchen supply stores, you can enjoy fried chicken, fruits, dashimaki eggs, fish cakes, croquettes, etc., have lunch with them, and buy kitchen knives and Japanese tableware at the commercial kitchen supply store. Enjoying a light meal at a shopping street loved by locals will also be a pleasant memory. If you wish, we can also take you to a railroad café run by a former railroad manager.

After a visit to the fish section of the Kyoto Central Market, we will take a stroll and eat our way through the shopping district. After shopping in the stores and eating at a soba or teishoku restaurant, we will go to a kitchenware specialty store to shop for kitchen knives and your favorite Japanese cooking supplies. At the end of the tour, we will take you to a railroad cafe if you wish.

10:00 AM - Meet at JR Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station.
10:15 AM - Visit the "Fish Section" in Kyoto Central Market.
10:45 AM - Start food tour with a leisurely stroll through the shopping street to eat and shop.
11:45 AM - Lunch at a soba or teishoku (set) restaurant.
12:45 PM - Visit a professional kitchenware store to shop for knives and other Japanese cooking supplies of your choice.
1:30 PM - End of the tour.
2:30 PM - End of food tour or take you to a railroad café if you wish.
