Balinese Cooking Class at The Amala

Great chef, great ingredients, inclusive & a wonderful lunch to share at the end. Learnt handy tips to enlarge meal options at home.

What a pleasent surprise this was. Chef Putu and his assistant are both talented super nice. Also wasn’t expecting the venue itself to be so pretty. Highly recommend

This was a unique experience to learn to cook like the locals. We were hands on with much of the course. We made 3 courses: starter, main and dessert. After we were able to eat the meal we prepared in the restaurant. That was the perfect touch. We took home our aprons, a cooking certificate, a copy of the menu, as well as full bellys. This was a great bonding experience for me and my friends. Chef Sudarmika answered all of our questions and kept us engaged. The assistant/sous chef Ari was the perfect hostess. They both mad this experience fun! My only negative, we're those pesky flys.. I wish there were zappers or fans to keep them away

While it wasn’t clear at the outset that the group menu has to be the same, we were also given the option to choose a veg and non veg - that was a major confusion but our requirements were considered and we had a fab day all things said!

We loved everything, staff were wonderful, the cooking area was fantastic. And being able to eat our creations in the beautiful dining area 10/10. Will absolutely do it again. All this plus pick up from our villa and drop off

We had a great experience under Chef Kadek and his assistant Ari learning the rich Balinese cuisine. It was definitely a class to remember. My husband and I loved the green papaya soup, sate lilit ayam and the banana fritters. It was tasty and aromatic. And, we got to take home our apron as souvenirs!

Would recommend as something everyone would enjoy, even if you have allergies (of which I have many), they adjusted the recipes to suit.

Such a good experience and the best part was we got to enjoy the amazing fresh restaurant quality food we made. Defiantly going to use this recipes again and the deep fried bananas will be our kids favourite.

The flavours were wonderful and learning how to cook the food was great. The meal at the end was beautifully presented and the staff were welcoming and patient. The end result was a little underwhelming as the fish was overcooked in the green papaya soup ( remaking this at home would be fine though as you wouldn't cook the fish for as long) and the chicken was quite dry on the lemon grass sticks. Overall I would recommend, it was value for money but a few improvements and it would be really great.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of participating in the cooking class with Chef Kadek Sudarmika and Komang. They were wonderful hosts and introduced us to new ingredients and delicious dishes. It was a pleasure. Furthermore, the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere at The Amala center was perfect for our purpose. Thank you so much for everything. We will always cherish the memories of our experience.

We had a lovely evening cooking with Chef Pande and his assistant Tisnu. You eat what you prepare at their little restaurant beside the pool - very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Chef Kadek and Widi were great instructors. It was fun to cook and delicious to eat.

The Amala is a beautiful location and the cooking class was so much fun! Our chef was really knowledgeable and it was a very intimate, hands-on experience. Our only regret is that we didn't do the market experience, which was apparently incredible so if you can, please do that!

My wife and I visited Bali last week and we were definitely looking forward to this cooking class and it definitely lived up to the hype. The Amala Resort was a beautiful venue where the cooking class took place. Chef Wiriyata was friendly, patient, and was overall an amazing chef to guide us through this cooking class. The food was absolutely delicious. The place where they served our food was also breathtaking. It was just my wife and I, and it was truly a romantic outdoor setting. It was serene and peaceful as well. We will definitely recommend this class to all our other friends who plan to visit Bali soon. Thanks again Chef Wiriyata!!! You are the best!

It was outside but undercover so it is hot but an awesome experience. Food was 10/10.

A lovely cooking class in a beautiful setting in the heart of busy Seminyak. The chef was very knowledgeable and experienced. It was hand on but not too much work. The food was delicious and we Look forward to making the recipes back home.

This class was an authentic, fun, and great cooking experience. The setting for the class was also pretty and welcoming. Putu was a good teacher and he explained each process well while involving us in the food preparation. The food was great and I’m looking forward to trying the recipes at home!

My experience was the best. I am proud that now I can cook Balinese dishes at home. My family and friends loved it especially the Lawar Salad! Indeed, Amala cooking class taught me to prepare intricate Balinese cuisines from scratch with the help of a true knowledgeable chef. It was really a fun and lovely experience. Once booked at Amala, sure they will deliver. To add, they never failed to pick me up on time to where I am staying and drop me off safely after the cooking class. They even gave me Apron gift. Haha, I feel like I am a true Balinese chef!

Our Chef was professional yet extremely friendly. The small group was perfect as it allowed us all to get Invovles and learn traditional Balinese recipes. Thank you for a wonderful day that we will remember always. Dave & Annalisa

The chef was great, we went togeather to the fishmarket, he explained me everything about how to buy fresh fish, on the cooking class he tould us everything in detail how should we do and it was just really amazing 😉

It was a really a great experience learning how to cook authentic Balinese food! The chef was really friendly. I also liked that it was a private class. The environment of the cooking area is beautiful, surounded by a pool and garden.
