The class begins with a local market tour which includes a visit to the noodle/dumpling wrapper store. The class utilizes both premade wrappers as well dough made from scratch by students. The precise and careful instructions were amazing and allowed to make perfect dumplings even though it was our first time preparing dumplings. Amazing class
The class was taught by a professional chef who thoroughly explained the technique and then gave each person to make the dish from to start to finish. He included details on how to make the dish on a high volume professional kitchen. An excellent class at a very professional level!
Chef Alice was approachable and professional. And because I was the only student that time, we get to bond more and laugh more like we've known each other for a long time. For the reason I was a solo student, we get to share the food we cooked with my family. I am so happy because Chef Alice shared the food with them also.
We had just a short amount of free time and were able to fit this in during a work trip to Hong Kong. It was well worth our time. Great food, great instruction and fun tour of the market. Great opportunity to better understand Hong Kong culture
We only had a couple of days in Hong Kong on business but we were able to make time for this class and it was great
We had a lovely time with Bill. The food and Bill were amazing. We cooked and talked about the food, culture and life in Hongkong. It was a complete experience of taste of Hongkong!
We loved our experience learning to cook with Felicity. She was very accommodating for our first experience both in Hong Kong and making dumplings, and she even offered a vegetarian menu, which (as vegetarians) can be hard to find. The wet market tour was really insightful, and it was cool to see where all the ingredients are produced. The class itself was inside a really nice cafe allocated to just our class. Felicity talked us through every step of the process, and our dumplings turned out great! We would highly recommend Felicity’s class for anyone wanting to dig a little deeper into the local culture for an insightful culinary experience.
I learned how to make Cantonese Congee, a healthy soup while enjoying glasses of chilled Chrysanthemum tea. I was luckily the only student on that day. Miu Miu, the cooking instructor, taught me not only how to make these dishes, but also taught me how I should use the big Chinese cutting knife, and what I can use as alternative ingredients in case I cannot find exactly the same vegetable(s) at home. These were all new findings and I really enjoyed it. I chose this class because I wanted to learn the very basics of Cantonese simple and healthy cooking. I am confident that I can make them at home by myself, which is very important to me! I recommend her cooking classes. Thank you!

This was a great one on one class. The instructor was friendly and great at explaining how to make everything. Highly recommend!!!!
Arrived early and I was the only one person there to make buns. She is a very relaxed teacher and has patience in teaching the techniques in rolling the pastry to the marination of the pork and vegetables and why it is important not to skip the steps so to get the best results. I am not a pastry chef so I found it difficult to grasp the final steps of rolling the pastry into a small ball. I need more practice. Alice showed me three times and guiding my hands and fingers but my brain could not register the technique yet, plus you find yourself skipping steps after she teaches you which were crucial to getting the best results. I’m a just one of those student not paying attention in classes. 😝 however the buns turned out great and I understood why my buns I made at home didn’t looked as uniformed as the ones made in class. Always good to pay for extra tuitions. After classes we ate the pan grilled buns and the steamed buns with her black vinegar and ginger dipping sauce while we talked about how to cure my cold sore and also Alice very kindly gave me a nice chrysanthemums tea to drink and to take home to reduce my fire (it’s a Chinese thing) and for my coarse sore throat. All in all a great day with a great teacher. Next time I will be back to make proper Chinese pineapple buns and egg tarts. See you next time Alice when I am back in HK and thanks for a great time.
The class with Kitty was great. As we went through the recipe, she was able to provide detail on why each step was done and what I should be looking out for (e.g how the dough should feel to know it was the right consistency). She also gave me a lot of insight and practice on the wrapping technique and different ways of doing it. I enjoyed the class a lot and can’t wait to try this again at home.
Take this class! Come hungry and you will not be disappointed! Bill's tour of the market and explanation of Hong Kong life (traditional and now) is both fascinating and educational. The cooking studio is a great space to work in. Bill's demonstrations are clear and easy to follow and he provides great tips during the hands on cooking. Talking with Bill about both food and life in Hong Kong made the time go so fast we were surprised the class was over and sad to leave the studio. The food is delicious and we will cook these at home.
My boyfriend & I have always had a passion for cooking. We knew one thing we really wanted to do when he came to visit me in Hong Kong was an authentic Chinese cooking class. We were lucky enough to come across Bill's cooking studio. We started the day by going to the wet market where Bill taught us many interesting facts about the market & the city itself. It was a great way to start a cooking class as we got to see just where & how the locals got their ingredients. Next, Bill took us to the cooking studio where we ate good food, improved our cooking skills, & had a lot of laughs. We were very diligent in taking notes on our recipes to make sure we were able to replicate them to be as tasty as the ones Bill initially cooked for us. We had such a great time with Bill & recommend everyone to check out his cooking classes. We hope to see Bill again in the future so he can help us become even better cooks!
The teacher, Kitty is very friendly. I learnt Xiao Long Bo, Cha Siu (BBQ port) and Cha Siu Bao. Her instructions were simple and clear. She expected you to do the procedures by yourself from measuring to the final dish. However, she was at you side, helping you and teaching you step by step. She even showed you the difficult steps first and let you practice before making it. I am happy to share my end products with her and it's so delicious.
