Tempura Class including Sashimi & Japanese seasoned rice. Try the savory crispy perfection of Asakusa style tempura!

There is Sashimi cutting taught for this class! Using Japanese Sashimi knife(Yanagiba Houchou), you can enjoy how to handle the Japanese knife cutting raw fish!! (*Not whole fish, we will cut a part of fish). The kinds of fish depend on the day and season.

This glorious, golden dish is a crowd favorite among people who are always on the go and craves for a satisfying meal. In this class, you will learn how to make the perfect, golden brown tempura alongside learning to make dashi, rice, and miso soup as well. As you go on with your class.

You can order sake for tasting at an additional charge of 500JPY- /glass (approx. 5USD).

What I liked: Cooking in a charming and beautiful kitchen. Everything was very organized and the quality of the ingredients that we cooked with were of the highest quality!
What to know: This cooking class is in an awesome neighborhood called Asakusa. It’s worth taking a little walk around Kappabashi Kitchen Town-- an absolute dream for any chef!
Good for: Small groups or private classes. This is the perfect class for those interested in the techniques of traditional Japanese cooking because everything is so thoroughly explained.
How to get there: A short walk from Tawaramachi or Asakusa metro stations.

"Excellent!"

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our class with Chagohan. Due to changes in our itinerary in Tokyo we had to change the time of our class several times, but they were very helpful and happy to accommodate our need. We were the only people in our class so we got to have a private session (luck!). The tutors were very friendly and explained the cooking steps very well. We enjoyed the tempura with miso soup at the end of our class and they were delicious! Would definitely come back and try out other classes with them!

"Fabulous experience"

Had a wonderful session with Massa as he walked me through both Tempura and sashimi. Lesson and recipe notes were great and the end result was sensational. Would highly recommend Chagohan cooking school

"Tempura class by Chagohan"

Me and my 17 year old son came for the tempura class. This was the first time my son really cooked, and Masa was very patient. He taught us valuable and easy techniques that we can replicate at home. We enjoyed the yummy food we cooked afterwards. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! I plan to come back to Japan and attend another class. I highly recommend this class!

"A must do for returning or newcomers alike."

A fun and enriching experience for those looking to do something fresh and exciting on their trip to Japan. Ingredients are fresh and varied, and Masa-san (the teacher) and his wife are warm and hospitable from start to finish. You learn a lot during the lesson, and at the end of it get to enjoy an amazing meal prepared by your own two hands. I highly recommend this to everyone.
