We started the class at our hotel and were picked up by bicycle. Then we took a ride the local market, which was a very nice experience to see where the products come from. On our way to the family’s restaurant, we did a small stop at the local farmers to buy some more fresh ingredients. At the restaurant we got a welcome drink and then the class started. We really enjoyed learning how to cook the fresh dishes and had a lot of fun with our teacher. After we finished eating, we got a certificate and the recipes. All in all, it was a great day, and I would recommend this cooking class.
If you wish to learn to cook your own Vietnamese food, then this is the place to go. Our hosts Tre and Moon were very helpful and kind. The food was delicious and we were taught step by step on how to make our own dishes and recipes to take home. We also rode the bicycles to town and visited the local market. Highly recommended.
Chef met us at our hotel and we took a golf cart to our bicycle stop. Then a very exciting bike ride through Hoi An traffic! One of our party wasn’t able to bicycle so she rode in style on the back of his scooter. After a tour of a local market, we headed to the country for a peaceful ride between rice paddies. The Tra Que Herb village is an amazing community space with organic gardens and shrimp pools. We learned how they grow vegetables and then headed to the pavilion to cook our lunch. Chef and his wife Moon are great hosts. We made 4 delicious dishes and we were very happy to hear they wash vegetables in treated water so we were able to enjoy them uncooked!! And we didn’t have to ride our bicycles back to town….he drove us in his SUV An excellent experience!!
This cooking class was an Amazing experience ! We visited the local market and then a vegetable garden. It was really instructive. Then we went to the lovely house of Moon and her husband. We cooked 5 different dishes. Ans everything was just really excellent! The couple is so kind i really recommand you to take a cooking class with them !
We had lots of fun at the class. The hosts are super friendly and speak good English. As we’re both vegetarians they changed the menue and we cooked something with tofu instead fish. All ingredients were fresh. We could ask a lot and at the end we had a very nice dinner at the family’s terrace with a beautiful view. The cooking class takes place at the amazing vegetable village which is absolutely worth a Visite. Would totally recommend if you want to get an impression about Vietnamese cuisine.
We had a nice view into the vietnamese kitchen secrets how to make their great local food of course with an awesome dinner of all self prepared dishes. The location in the herbal village was an additional highlight for us. The cooking class is given by a very lovely vietnamese couple, depending on the group size at their own terrace at home or at their restaurant one street further, both very beautiful and authentic locations. We enjoyed the time learning about their way to prepare the food. They already had some vegetables prepared ready to use, others we were cutting by ourself. Rolling the spring rolls and frying the rice pancakes is made by yourself to learn the correct technic. That's very nice to see, how it works. We would highly recommend this class with their great hosts, by the way, you can spend a night at their homestay, which was another wonderful experience to get a great view into local living. Thanks a lot!
We loved this unique experience with a lovely couple. One highlight was the market shopping followed by seeing the most amazing fields of organic veg and herbs growing! We made all our veggie favourites, pancakes, summer rolls, tofu dishes. It was perfectly tailored to me as a vegan and delicious to eat !thank you
We first went to the market and to their vegetable garden. Everything is very fresh and without chemical products inside. The class was very interesting and the food we made was delicious! Definetely recommend!
Good ingredients, good local atmosphere, kind teacher, and fantastic food It was the best experience in Hoian thanks a lot
Learned a lot at this class. Very friendly cook and guide. Local farmers market was interesting just as the vegetable garden. We had a lot of fun. We would have liked to have gotten the vegetarian menu. We had a small class of three people but we would have liked it if the cooking itself would have been a little more elaborate, some things were already prepared that we wanted to do ourselves. All in all it was a very nice cooking class but there were still some rough edges.
Host is very kind, nice and punctual :) I will book this class if I go to Hoian again. Their dogs are so cute and foods really nice, too.
What makes our popular cooking class unique is the association with the fantastic Hoian Farmers Restaurant. Our Chefs exclusively fluent in English teach classic Vietnamese dishes as well as contemporary, excellent, Hoian Farmers signature recipes.
Each participant has his own material and ingredients to follow the Chef step by step and cook their own meal.
