Really liked it! So good. Was supposed to cook four dishes, but we cooked ten. Learned a lot, even if I had a basic knowledge about Thai cooking.
The cooking school is al fresco and situated on a quiet lagoon creating a wonderful ambiance. Yaa interspersed information on local herbs and spices and Thai cooking techniques, with anecdotes about her life and her family, history of rice, some cooking chemistry, and even a Thai language lesson. We learned how to make "sticky rice", spring rolls using various flowers to create eye appeal, two types of curries, pad thai, and even dessert (Thai dessert crepes). We started at 10:30 in the morning, and walked along the beach back to our hotel at around 5pm, way too full to even consider dinner. This is a must if you are in Koh Chang!
Very good teacher and the food we made was better than in any restaurant we ate on the whole trip. Highly recommend this
Ya did an excellent job in explaining a lot of background information on typical Thai ingredients, really enjoyed it! Also, the practical part is g cooking was well organized and divided, so that all participants were actually cooking. I highly recommend this course, not just for the great participants but mainly because of Ya who did a fantastic job. Thanks heaps!
