Welcome to the farm-to-table experience at Buddha Raksa Nature Farm!

This immersive and fun cooking experience will have you enjoy an outdoor Chiang Mai- style cooking class. You’ll first go on a fun farm tour, where you’ll handpick the fresh ingredients for the menu. Making it a certainty you’ll use the freshest ingredients straight from the farm to create your rare, yet authentic Thai dishes. The locally grown vegetables hold an intense flavor and besides cooking, they are used for local desserts and delicious herbal drinks.

The menu is vegan-friendly because most of the recipes are plant-based. Besides that, the menu is something you won’t find at the restaurants, but are secret family recipes that have been passed down.

My name is Mae, the owner of Buddha Raksa Organic Farm, where we offer a unique farm-to-table cooking experience in the heart of Chiang Mai, catering to food enthusiasts from across the globe. As an architect turned farmer, my passion for both cultivating the land and savoring delicious meals led me to create a space where people can connect with the origins of their food. I recently had the joy of teaching a cooking class that celebrated the vibrant flavors of locally sourced, fresh produce. This experience not only showcased the delicious possibilities of plant-based cooking but also highlighted our commitment to sustainability and a harmonious relationship with nature.

Appetizer: Som Tum Papaya Seasonal Salad
Main: Khao Soi (Chiangmai style curry noodle)
Dessert: Kluai Buat Chi (Banana in sweet coconut milk)
Drinks: Turmeric Drink (Herbal tea with honey and lime)

9:30 am - Pick up from hotel or Chiang Mai old town
10:00 am - Arrival at Buddha Raksa Nature Farm
10.15 am: Farm introduction, Farm tour, and gather fresh ingredients
10:30 am: Thai cooking introduction
11:00 am: Start the coking session
12:30 pm: Enjoy lunch
1:30 pm: Enjoy afternoon desserts and tea on the nature farm
2:00 pm: End of class and back to Chiang Mai old town

Price is not include transportation fee but we could arrange pick up service at any of your convenient location in Chiangmai old town to our farm. For pick up and drop off will cost around 1,000 baht per trip and if there are other people join same day experience you can share taxi ride them too. Distance from Chiang mai old town to our farm is 35km. around 45 min. by car

Great experience on calm Farm

We Booked this cooking class, because it looked like sth special and a bit different to the usual ones in the city (which we also enjoyed). Maes Husband picked us up and drove us to the Farm, which is a 40-50 min ride. We were lucky to be the only guests that day and where shown around the farm, could harvest stuff ourselves and then started cooking with mae and her mum. The whole experience was Great and interesting- its Not so much about a strict recipe and exact amounts (for that you find fitting classes in every other cooking school), its more about the pattern of the dish and how it comes together. We Really enjoyed it, Had a short Rest on the Beautiful Open worden House terace and finished the day with a Dessert and good Talks. Thank you!

Wonderful above all expectations

After a warm and friendly welcome, we were led around the nice picked some fruit and spices, learned a lot about herbs (the differences between varieties of coriander, some types of lemongrasses…). The cooking class was perfectly prepared, we learned how to make a good kao soi and a fine tom sum. And banana in coconut milk. We sat and talked to the family, they speak English very well, Mae (who is an architect) has lived in Washington. Mae‘s mother then beat me in a game of darts, we sat and chatted and parted as friends. Do not miss it! To get there you should take a Grab to the dirt road where Mae‘s husband picks you up with his 4WD which is useful on the dirt road.
