Our step-by-step guidance ensures an immersive, hands-on adventure that captures the essence of Khmer cooking techniques and flavors.
Cambodian cuisine boasts a rich diversity of flavors distinct from those of its neighboring countries. The dishes reflect the country's bountiful natural resources, with rivers, lakes, mountains, and the ocean offering a variety of fish, animals, insects, and vegetables. To truly understand and appreciate Khmer cuisine, it's essential to become familiar with these raw ingredients in their natural state and to learn and practice traditional Khmer cooking methods. Together, we will prepare Amok, a popular Cambodian dish. You can choose between vegetables (suitable for vegetarians/vegans), fish, or chicken.
The class will be in a secluded green space in Steung Meanchey, tucked away from the bustling city down a small street. This open kitchen allows us to cook with a traditional Khmer stove using charcoal, providing an authentic culinary experience.
Starter:
For starter you will prepare BBQ in Cambodian style that use a lots spice to make the taste stronger with flavor and aroma.
Main course:
You will prepare and cooking Amok, it is similar to curry but it is not curry, it could be chicken, fish, vegetarian or tofu, you can choose one of those, we will put in the coconut and steam it.
Dessert:
Cooking a Cambodian sweet, you will taste the banana with creamy from coconut milk and palm sugar.
