From the first moment, we had a great time with Kurina! She has a huge knowledge around Miso, vegan Cuisine and Fermentation so we learned a lot from her. Also, the lunch she prepared was really amazing and sooo tasty! Would recommend 100%!
Words cannot describe how special the class with Kurina is. We had a truly great time. It felt like visiting a friend rather than taking a mere cooking class. Kurina welcomed us warmly at her home and prepared an incredible lunch for us. After the lunch Kurina taught us how to prepare miso. During the whole time, Kurina shared with us her expertise all around macrobiotic and vegan nutrition and we had great conversations. We felt like we learned so much more than "just" how to make miso. As for the miso souvenir, we took it back to our home country which was not a problem at all and are now waiting for it to be ready to eat. If we have the chance to come to Japan again we would love to visit Kurina again.
If you want to try something new, this class is something you should consider. Kurina introduced us to macrobio-veganism. From what I've learned, I will just create my own tofu, instead of buying one from the market. Highly recommended.

She provides a unique opportunity to see how the locals live in a more rural part of Japan yet accessable from Tokyo. Kurina is knowledgeable in her field and shares more than just how to cook tofu. Karina teaches you her knowledge of living healthy along with lots of Japanese culture of food aspects in mind. It was an enjoyable time not only learning, making, and eating the various tofu dishes, but learning about the macrobiotic way of healthy living. Karina is very knowledgable and very accommodating to your intetests and will tailor the program to your liking if your group allows it due to its size.
