Osaka is known as Japan’s “kitchen,” and two dishes that truly embody its culinary soul are okonomiyaki, a savory pancake packed with cabbage, meat or seafood, and rich sauces and yakisoba, the beloved stir-fried noodle dish. In this hands-on cooking class, you’ll learn just how fun and approachable these iconic street foods can be to recreate at home.
Your hosts, sisters Arisa and Maya, were born and raised in Osaka, where their grandmother once ran a popular shabu-shabu restaurant—instilling in them a deep love for food and heartfelt hospitality. After meeting near Umeda, you’ll head to their warm, inviting kitchen, tie on an apron, and dive into cooking Osaka-style. The experience wraps up with a shared meal featuring your freshly made dishes, seasonal sides, refreshing drinks, and lively conversation. As a thoughtful touch, you’ll also receive a pair of chopsticks to take home as a keepsake.
