This tour begins with a tour with a licensed guide of the Pompeii ruins to discover the eating habits of the ancient Romans and to find out how and what was eaten in this city of the Empire. Along the way it will be possible to admire different examples of commercial and residential establishments: inns and snack bars examples of domus (ancient Roman dwellings) with typical dining rooms, one of the more than 30 bakeries in the ancient town of Pompeii with the oven and millstones still clearly visible, and an exhibition showing remains of charred bread found during excavations.
After the tour, just a few steps away, we'll head to a typical Neapolitan pizzeria. With the help of a professional pizza chef, you will be able to learn the secret of the Neapolitan pizza, how to prepare the dough and toppings, and how to manage the wooden oven. At the end of the experience, you will enjoy what you made in a classy, yet cozy environment.
