While originating in China, dumplings have seamlessly integrated into the daily culinary fabric of Japan. Reflecting on my time in New York, where I frequently hosted dumpling parties, I earned acclaim from friends who urged me to transform this passion into a cooking class. Although obtaining dough from Japanese supermarkets is common, my experience in New York challenged me to master homemade dough, revealing its unparalleled deliciousness. Join this class, where I'll guide you through the art of crafting dumplings entirely from scratch!

Udon and Tempura Fusion Class on Fridays:

My passion for working with dough extends from baking bread to crafting noodles. While Udon noodles are readily available in Japan, there's a distinct joy in creating them fresh at home. Pairing perfectly with Udon, Tempura adds an extra layer of delight. Join this class to master the art of preparing Udon noodles from scratch and learn the intricacies of crafting the perfect outer coating for Tempura using flour and eggs!

• Dumpling
• Seaweed Soup
• Tea (Optional: Japanese Beer + $2 for each)
• Small Homemade or Local Japanese Sweets

Dough

• Basic: flour and water
• Optional1: Mix with Whole-wheat flour, Water
• Optional 2: Rice powder, Water (Gluten free dough)

Filling

• Basic: Pork, Chinese cabbage, Japanese Leek, Ginger, Garlic, Chinese Chive
• Optional 1: Chicken, Chinese cabbage, Japanese Leek, Ginger, Garlic, Chinese Chive.
• Optional 2: Shrimp, Chinese cabbage, Japanese Leek, Ginger, Garlic, Chinese Chive.
• Optional 3: Tofu, Chinese cabbage, Japanese Leek, Ginger, Garlic, Chinese Chive. (Vegetarian)

• Udon

• Japanese Pickles 
• Tea (Optional: Japanese Beer + $2 for each)
• Small Homemade or Local Japanese Sweets

Main ingredients:

• Udon (Basic: Flour, Salt, Water)
• Optional: Mix with Whole-wheat flour, Water
• Tempra (Shrimp, Mushroom, Seasonal Vegetable)
• Dipping (Soy sauce, Mirin(Sweet Sake), Bonito flakes, Dried Seaweed)

Schedule

• Meeting at Machiya Station 
• Start of cooking  session
• Enjoy the dish you created.
• End of the class. 

The duration of the session is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
