Trade a day of your city life with us. Join for half a day in the afternoon to learn about the cuisine and food culture of Bali.
As part of our farm cooking school, we proudly cultivate our own exotic organic vegetation. Upon arrival, you will be given a tour around our organic farm and learn how a Balinese family expertly uses the natural resources surrounding them to create a self-sustaining farm.
Our kitchens are spacious and well equipped. You will learn about the herbs and spices used, interesting myths behind them, and of course how to cook them.

Balinese Spice Paste
- Sambal Mbe Goreng (Balinese Crispy shallots)
- Sambal Kacang, or peanut sauce
Or alternatively you can also select different sambal of Sambal Ulek or Sambal Matah

- Gerang Asem ( Sour and Savory Chicken Soup)
- Lawar (a mixture of vegetables, coconut, and minced meat mixed with rich herbs and spices)
- Pindang Base Tomat (a side dish made up of brine fish and then prepared with a sauce that has tomatoes as its main ingredient.)
We‘ll have different menus for the vegan option.

Satay Lilit (The Balinese version of satay combines ground meat with coconut and spices.)

Satay Asem (Satay tusuk is a Balinese dish where meats are skewered and grilled, with “tusuk” meaning skewer in Indonesian.)

Tum (A Balinese dish combines ground meat, Balinese spice paste, and grated coconut, all wrapped in a banana leaf.)

Babi Kecap (This is pork belly dish cooked in a flavorful sauce with sweet soy sauce and Balinese spices.)

Udang Base Kuning (A succulent shrimp cooked in a rich, yellow spice paste.)

Tuna Sambal Matah (The sambal matah, a Balinese raw sambal, will be the vibrant accompaniment to the pan seared tuna)

by Cat LauWhat I liked: I really enjoyed being surrounded by so much greenery! It’s special to be so deep in nature, especially while you’re in Ubud. I also enjoyed that we cooked and learned all the dishes and made them all by hand in a relaxing environment.
What to know: This cooking class offers vegan and vegetarian classes and I would highly recommend this class to anyone with a special interest in organic produce.
Good for: People into the slow and natural life
How to get there: Pick up and drop off is offered by the cooking school.
Schedule
Afternoon Class:
- 12:15 pm: Pickup at your hotel in Ubud Center
- 1:45 pm: Arrive at our farm school and organic farm tour
- 2:15 pm: Cooking session
- 4:00 pm: Time to enjoy your dish
- 5:45 pm: End of the cooking class and ready to go back to Ubud
- 6:30 pm: Back in Ubud
Meeting Point
Free pick up service from your hotel within Ubud Center area.
If your hotel is located outside of the Ubud area
- Meet us at 7:40 am/12:30 pm, in front of Ubud Food Court (front of Sens Hotel on Jalan Sukma No. 1, Banjar Tebesaya, Petulu, Ubud)
- Apply for transportation: 50K IDR outside Ubud area
