The place is amazing with great staff. Organic food, delicious wine. Both Anna Maria and Michelle made this experience very enjoyable and shared so much knowledge not only about pasta making but also about the wines. I highly recommend it to couples, families as well as single travelers.
My experience in the countryside near Rome was absolutely exceptional! This was a perfect blend of culinary education, wine appreciation, and stunning scenery. It was a perfect way to escape the city, learn new culinary skills, and indulge in some of the finest wines Italy has to offer.
Highly recommended. Great hosts. Great food. Great learning.
A Wonderful Day Out Mar 2024 • Friends This is a simply wonderful experience. Who knew making pasta from scratch was so accessible? The train ride from Termini is cheap as chips with lots of lovely views (look out for the aqueduct park - well worth a visit in its own right), the views at the winery are stunning and the buildings are amazing. Fabrizio the chef really knows his stuff and it was fun having him speak Italian (although his English is way better than my Italian) while Luca translated. The wines are lovely and it was great to be able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy them with a bit of bread and cheese. Lunch was the pasta we'd made topped with Fabrizio's sauces with lots of Minardi wine and we then gatecrashed a party of young Americans on what I believe they call a bachelorette party! That was at Alfredo's insistence by the way, we'd never have been so bold :) Alfredo's a pretty fine guitarist so we all had a sing song with our American friends then it was time to go. We had a couple of beers in Frascati waiting for the train back to Rome and enjoyed the views from a bar we'd patronised a couple of years previously. Everyone in our party of eight thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we'd do it again in a heartbeat.
We found the pasta making class a wonderful break from the chaos of five days of hard touring in Rome. Our host, Nico, picked us up at the Frascati station and the rest of the day he was a constant, friendly source of information and instruction. We were taught how to make pasta (3 kinds), we had a tour of the vineyard, and then we had a delicious lunch, all in the rustic farmhouse of the vineyard. Well worth the cost, we returned to Rome late in the afternoon well fed and relaxed. It was like we had visited members of an extended family.
I cannot recommend this class enough! It was informative, fun, and the family/Nico were so kind and helpful to my family and me. My entire family booked the class, and unfortunately the morning of, a few of us were suffering from food poisoning. Nico and the family could not have been more accommodating and lovely to my sickly cousins, all while keeping the class and tour going for the rest of us. We made some truly delicious pasta and got to tour their truly beautiful home and winery. Love, love, loved this experience! Would definitely do this again!
We had an English translator who assisted the chef. It was very well organized, and everyone felt supported in the class. It was a lovely experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
A wonderful experience. Niccolo, the chef, and all the Minardi Winery team were terrific, the wine was delectable, and the kitchen made our amateur pasta delicious.
Such a fun and delicious day - highly recommend this experience!
The experience was a great time. Both Nicolo and Alfredo were excellent hosts and made it both informative and fun. The pasta maestro was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot. The property is beautiful, and the cave is very cool. They were very accommodating with vegan options and ended the class with music which was a lot of fun. Would highly recommend it.
You will definitely learn how to make pizza (the right-crunchy-delicious-italian-way), but the experience is beyond the cooking. From Paola (who hosted us throughout), to the chef, to the ladies helping in the kitchen... it was a great experience overall! We went with one 14 year old, two 15 year olds, and one 18 year old and everyone had a good time.
The trip to the Minardi farm was phenomenal! Our family loved the pasta making class, the tour of the vineyards, the wine tasting, the absolutely scrumptious lunch and the Italian songs at the end! We were greeted warmly and treated like special guests to their family home. This was an absolute highlight of our trip to Italy! Thank you Umberto, Alfredo, Alessandra and Anna - we will never forget this experience. (And we are excited to enjoy your olive oil and red wine too!)
This was an amazing experience! We learned a lot about making pasta, which we did with success as soon as we came home. Paula and her family created a wonderful environment were we had so much fun!
My sister had recommended this experience when she was in Rome a few years ago, and it's now one of our favourites too. The pasta making was so fun, the food was so good, the wine was great, but the cherry on top was the friendliness and camaraderie of the staff on the farm. Paola was our host and she was hilarious and made the experience that much better. I would definitely return here if I'm in Rome again!
This was such a great class - our whole group had a blast! From learning to make authentic pizza, tasting the amazing wine and enjoying the company of the family who owns the winery - we couldn’t recommend this experience more!
Had a great experience.
This was a wonderful experience. The location was beautiful. The teachers were friendly and helpful. They really made the cooking class easy and fun. The wine tasting and tour was interesting and enjoyable. The meal afterward was fantastic, one of the best we had while in Italy. Overall this experience was a highlight of our trip and I would strongly recommend it.
Engaging, instructional, delicious! Wonderful way to spend a day away from the chaos of Rome. Wouldn’t change anything. Bravo!
We had a really wonderful experience with Paola, Alfredo and Pietro. First we made three different types of pasta and learned a lot about how real good pasta should be and feel like. Afterwards we had a wine tasting on the beautiful terrace of the farmehouse and a tour through the beautiful vineyard inklusive a stunning view. At the end we had a wonderful dinner with some antipasti and our selfmade pasta with home made sauce. After the dinner Alfredo got out his guitar and played some songs for us. All in one we really enjoyed this wonderful day with warm-hearted people and delicious food & wine! We will definitely come here again for a pizza class or any other course and warmly recommend it to everyone.
Our party of three really enjoyed our countryside winery tour and pasta making class. The winery is in a beautiful location and getting there from Rome was very easy. Making the pasta was a fun experience, and enjoying the fruits of our labour at a lovely sit down meal was even better. After the dinner, our talented hosts brought out a guitar and sang a few (very funny) songs for us. It was delightful. The only thing that could have been improved was the timing of dropping us off at the train station for the return to Rome. They got us there 4 minutes after the train departed, resulting in everyone waiting almost an hour for the next train. But, there was a cafe nearby so we sat and enjoyed another glass of Frascati wine!
From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. All the guys and Paola were brilliant and we had an amazing day with pasta making and wine tasting. Would recommend to anybody who wants a relaxing day outside of Rome - very accessible with the train from Termini and you are picked up when the train arrives and dropped off 15 minutes before the train home. Very smooth and very relaxing from the madness of Rome.
Take this tour! The food, the setting, the hosts and over all experience wIll go down as one of my all time favorite!
Great day
We absolutely enjoyed making pasta with 14 colleagues. We learned and laughed a lot and the wine and pasta tasted delicious! Thank you!
For one day we put aside everything else in world. We learned how to make two kinds of pasta. Had a nice tour of the Minardi Frascati Vineyard. Gained an appreciation for the region. Meet nice people (I suspect that might be luck). Ate a nice family meal and then were lucky enough to hear Alfredo and his neighbor sing and play guitar. The food, wine, views, people and experience could not have been better.
Nice break from the crowds and heat of Rome. Loved seeing the vineyard, farmhouse and wine cave. We learned a lot about the art of making pizza dough - made several variations of pizza. Really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend for anyone looking to do something just a short train ride out of the city.
The hosts are so nice and the class was really educative Thank you so much
Two teens and two adults. We had a great time, and enjoyed the people, the food, and the locale. It was truly a highlight of our trip! Good directions, and easy to navigate as well. Thank you for a wonderful day!!!
We had the best time, the hosts were so accommodating, helpful and made the experience so fun. Definitely book if you can!
Thanks to Alfredo, Nico & Umberto for this great experience! It was a pleasure to see such a beautiful place full of traditions and the amazing Italian atmorphere. Highly recommended! We booked the class for our annual teambuilding event and were all fascinated of the dedication and passion this farmhouse is being maintained with, as well as the old families tradition of winemaking. The hosts gave us useful insighs into the art of dough-making and provided interesting facts about their winery and region - such a unique experience we definitely recommend to everyone who is looking for relaxation aside from the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan city.
Everything was perfect - from the pasta making to the wine tasting it was all absolutely delicious and right level of fun & interesting. We loved it!
The pasta making class was great fun and the dishes tasted amazing. Included a tour of the vineyard and wine tasting with the food. Our group had an amazing time, definitely the highlight of our trip and would recommend for anyone looking to do something slightly different when visiting Rome.
The class was awesome. It was really fun and the teacher and translator were really friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating for dietary requirements (my husband and I are vegetarians and there was a vegan in our group) and they were great. Would highly recommend as a way to see outside of Roma a bit and learn to make pasta.
Was so much fun and learned a lot. Pizza and wine were wonderful!
The cooking class was fun, informative, friendly and all-in-all a great experience. It is worth the money as the families worked hard to make us all feel welcome and to make us appreciate the art of pizza making. Highly recommend it for all ages!
The day was fantastic, our guide/translator Jo was heaps of fun and couldn't do enough to help. The Italian chefs were superb and you could genuinely see that they loved their art and what they did. Best of all the food tastes incredible! The wine poured freely and the entertainment was fantastic on a rainy day in frascati.
My niece flew in from Canada and I wanted to take her on an Italian country side adventure. She loved every minute of the adventure from being picked up at the train station to making pizza and realizing that this is what they mean by relax and enjoy life. Thank you for a wonderful time.
We arrived and were immediately greeted by our amazing host Jo. She was so welcoming and taught us so much of the rich history of the town Frascati. Alfredo and his family greeted us at their home which is absolutely beautiful. Chef Luigi put on a master class where we made pasta from scratch and enjoyed eating it paired with wines. Everything tasted amazing. The wine and vineyard were really special. The hospitality from Jo and Alfredo was second to none I can’t recommend this enough I will be telling anyone that visits.
We loved the countryside location in a family run farm house. The Family were so welcoming and made us feel instantly at ease. The food and wine were lovely and the instruction for the cookery class was given with a sense of fun and was really enjoyable. Jo, or joyful Jo as we came to know her, made the day very memorable. A wonderful lady who charmed us with her knowledge and passion for the country and Frascati in particular. Thank you to everyone involved in the day.
Lots of fun. Beautiful venue.
This was hands down our favorite experience in Italy. Every member of the family was genuinely kind, welcoming, funny and passionate about what they do at their “castel”. The pasta making was challenging but well instructed, and the wine was out of this world. Wonderful presentation, thoughtful additions, and a finale of being serenaded by the chef all made for an unforgettable experience that we will always cherish!
.
I was nervous doing this, but blew any and all expectations out of the water! So easy to hop on the train and experience the beautiful town of Frascati. The family and crew were so kind and welcoming to their farmhouse. The cooking class was so fun. We were taught by the Price of France’s former personal cook. Super funny guy and great singer! Used utensils that the average person has at home, which was a blessing to not have to buy stuff.
We had the best day on the Minardi vineyard!!! Perfectly organised from start to finish, with incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts. The pasta class was great fun and very successful all round - with a great touch to have a professional chef to teach us. After a lovely tour of the vineyard we sat down to an absolutely wonderful meal, with plenty of delicious wine from the vineyard, and the pasta which we prepared ourselves. Thank you so much to everyone who made our day so wonderful, this was certainly the highlight of our trip to Rome, and would recommend the day to anyone. If you are thinking about booking - do it! You won't regret it!!
This was an incredible experience, thanks to Cookly and the Minardi vineyard for a fantastic day! We learned how to make 2 types of pasta and had demos of several others (by a former chef from the Italian Embassy in France, no less!). We then had a tour of the vineyard and ancient cellar. Finally we ate (all) our pasta and drank lots of wine, all whilst being entertained on the piano by a member of the Minardi family with the chef singing! Exceptional wine (we bought 4 bottles), fantastic atmosphere, incredible teaching and a very friendly bunch of people. It was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. Now we are looking forward to going home and making our own pasta!
alot of fun, not only eating but alot of other activities had alot of fun
Thanks to Nico, the great pizzaoilo and the Minardi family for the pizza making class and the wine tasting. It was the highlight of my trip to Rome, a totally memorable experience! The team was able to share with participants the passion they put in creating delicious pizzas and a gorgeous Frascati wine! Grazie mille :)
The atmosphere of the winery was so friendly and inviting. We made a mistake with our transportation and the employees were so helpful. The food was amazing and the wine was better. It felt as if we were invited into their home and had a lunch party, there was no hesitation or awkwardness from the employees. Would do this again in a heartbeat!!
I am so happy I found this cooking class. The beat part of our trip. Cookly such a great day. Much success. Aviva and Harold from Montreal Canada
From the ease of booking, to the detailed description of how to get there and the personable and informative class - this was TOP NOTCH!! Jo, our guide was amazing and Chef Luigi was fantastic...I can not recommend this experience enough!
We had an amazing cooking class with the Minardi family. The house where the class took place was so historic and built hundreds of years ago above a natural cave which we toured during the visit. The vineyards themselves were beautiful with roaming hills and an amazing terrace view. The cooking class was interactive and informative but most of all it was FUN for my teenage kids. But the best part was interacting with a real Italian family who provided fabulous lunch and an unforgettable experience including a serenade and piano at the end. Fabulous!!!
It was a wonderful and fun class!!
The winery tour and pasta cooking class was by far one of the highlights of our trip. My boyfriend and I had the best time, we were picked up from the train station from a wonderfully friendly woman who told us about the town and immediately broke the ice. The family run vineyard was so beautiful. The cooking class was super fun and they accommodated to our vegan eating requirements. The wine was also some of the best wine we’ve ever had! Highly recommend going!
We think our experience of the cooking pasta class may be the highlight of our entire trip. To be in your Minardi vineyard and have a tour combined with the pasta making and sharing what we made with out group was very special! Try to always end the tour as you did for us with your talented chef singing in Italian and accompanied by Alfredo on the piano. You people run a brilliant event not to be missed. Thank you from Genny and Russ
Loved every moment. The entire staff made me feel welcome and like their friend. The best part of my trip to Rome!
Amazing class. Was interactive, the people were so nice and inviting, and leaning about the ancient winery was superb !! Would love to live in Italy and just go there all the time to grab a glass of wine and relax. Would totally recommend for anybody that has a day in their Rome travels.
The people who run Minardi Winery in Frascati truly do am exceptional job. The ticket price is worth it. They delivered on a quality cooking lesson, a lovely tour of their vineyard, LOTS of food and antipasti, the wine pours were generous, and the cost of purchasing their wine and olive was very reasonable. I just adored the experience, they’re such entertainers. The pace of the whole experience was perfect the whole time, not standing around idly. They kept things moving and kept our attention with stories and lots of music and singing. Please go if you have the chance!
Had an easy time booking through Cookly and I got an email confirmation right away. The tour was as described, we met Claudio at the taxi stand and had a small group tour (13 people) of the town of Frascati. Claudio was a knowledgeable and spirited tour guide with lots of interesting bits of information! We stopped in Frascati for the first wine tasting, then made our way to the vineyard for a beautiful and authentic taste of Italian wine. The small group setting made it a very intimate compared to other tours we had experienced. The wine and food were awesome, and the hosts were very helpful. Definitely recommend doing this as part of your trip, as it was the favorite part of ours!
Booking with Cookly was easy and quick. I got a confirmation email almost instantly. The experience was awesome! Everything was as described, from trains leaving, to quality of wine. We met Claudio at the taxi stand and started a spirited tour of Frascati with a small tour group (13 people). We stopped in the city for our first wine tasting, then made our way to the vineyard and experienced and authentic vineyard with lots of history and character. The wine was amazing and we got proper glasses and not small samples. Claudio was a knowledgeable and spirited tour guide with lots of information about the town and vineyard. Everything and everyone was authentic, the wine was delicious, and the views we're breath taking! Definitely the best part of our trip and will be going back if we come back to Rome!
I have experienced many historical sites during my trip to Italy, but the Cook class was very special, interesting and interesting. That day was my birthday, and I want to thank the staff that I have specially prepared for. I felt true to them. Thank you very much. ^^
This was the highlight of our trip to Rome, pasta and wine, what could be better? They treat you like family and provide an amazing experience with plenty of wine! We enjoyed every second!
The pasta-making class was definitely a highlight of my week-long trip in Italy. Everyone was extremely friendly and you could tell the family loves what they do. From the pasta-making to the wine-tasting to the Italian-singing serenading Chef Luigi, this day is a must if you're looking to get out of Rome to explore the country-side. If I ever find myself in this part of the country again, which I hope to, I think I might just take this class again.
This is a must do! Out of my 8 days in Rome & Florence, this was the best day!!! The family is so kind, the tour guide is friendly and informative,... highlight for sure!!!!
Everybody was so friendly and made the whole experience fun. We did it as part of my sisters hen do and she loved it. Beautiful place, beautiful people, great time. Would definitely do it all over again.
Great guys and world class pizza making chef in Elvio !
It was such a wonderful day. We really enjoyed the whole day. It was lovely. Food, wine and lots of nice people.
The whole experience was top notch. The food and wine were delicious and the people were so friendly! We loved it all so much!!
A very enjoyable day with great company! Superb food and wine!
It was great, activities timely, hostess friendly, assisting when necessary, service, location, food, and wine were all good. I was with my daughters and the other 2 groups communicated openly. The final icing on the top was the chef singing. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
The class was amazing from beginning to end. The train ride to Frascati was short and comfortable. Upon arrival, we met our tour guide (Jo, she was THE BEST). She took us on a short tour of Frascati and we headed to the winery. Here we had a lovely tour of the winery with the owner. The place has some amazing history and is truly beautiful. The cooking class was so much fun! The chef was so talented and charming. After he taught us to make two different types of pasta, he cooked it for us and it turned out to be the most amazing meal I had in Italy. Or maybe ever. Also included is generous tastings of their wines and lovely aperitives! I am so glad we did this class, it was by far our favorite experience while traveling.
Beautiful, picturesque location with gracious, friendly hosts. The wine was quite enjoyable, and we loved learning how to make a delicious, light pizza from an expert. It was honestly the tastiest pizza I’ve ever had. Fellow classmates were also fun and from all over the world. I would highly recommend this experience. It was the highlight of our vacation!
Fabulous hospitality from the first minute till the last, and there's no better way to experience the Roman countryside during a short break to this wonderful city.
Classic Italian experience! I personally love pasta and this class did not disappoint. We had a local market tour, the people, they were so warm and charismatic. The tour was insightful, it felt like we were travelling back to the past and enjoying every moment. The culture and the tradition was very well preserved in this class. We were able to try 2 different kinds of pasta, different types of breads and delicious appetizers. The wine pairings were magnificent! Just spot on. I would definitely recommend and hope to do it again on another trip to Rome!
From start to finish, this experience was worth every penny! Jo greeted our group at the train station with joy and welcome. She was truly a delight and very knowledgeable! Nico gave an excellent tour of the vineyard and provided much needed translation with our awesome Italian chef! The pre meal and wine tasting was an added bonus that no one saw coming in terms of taste and overall experience! Do yourself a favor and book this experience in this quant little town. You will not be disappointed!!!!
I highly recommend this! It was fun, educational, delicious and a great way to see and learn about this beautiful area of Italia! The hosts were wonderful- and I loved the musical ending!
Frascati is a little and cozy town, but keep their own style of life, wine, and food culture. It was so great time to have a look around the town with Alfredo’s guide. Also Minardi winery was so amazing!!! Alfredo family has very high quality technic of grape harvest, which is an ancient way, so the wine was really fruity, soft and good taste. Alfredo’s friend who is a chef made us a small food for the wine. We also had a great time with a pizza master, learnt how to make a dough with their secret way in Roman style pizza. He was really kind, and proud of himself. (He retired recently after pizza making about 35 years!!). We had so much fun with them, and I really want to recommend this class to all!! Don’t hesitate, then you will have a great experience! Thank you so much Alfredo and all!! :)
We traveled around Europe for 2 weeks on our honeymoon and this was our absolute favorite day! Jo was an amazing guide and Frascati is gorgeous! The wine and pizza were delicious (the best we had on our entire trip)! We had so much fun and loved getting away to the countryside with lovely hosts!
True Italian portions. We were able to try 2 different kinds of pasta, different types of breads and deliscious appetizers. The wine that came before lunch and during lunch was smooth and paired wonderfully with the food, the glasses were refilled generously and we even got to try some of the pizza the other half of the class had made. It was such a wonderful experience with the Minardi family and the other guests that were part of the group. I would definitely recommend and hope to do it again on another trip to Rome!
From start to finish, it was delightful. Jo was very knowledgeable and a blast to have guide us through town and share the history of Frascati. Alfredo and Umberto proudly portrayed what a family business is all about. Luigi was super patient with my lack of pasta making skills, and the other staff made us smile. And the food and wine were outstanding-the best of my trip. Thank you for a wonderful memory of Italy! I hope to be back very soon.
We had a blast! My reluctant husband ended up having the best time and tells everyone he meets about how much fun he had and what he learned. Enjoying our creations together at a huge family table with other guests from all over the world was so special. Next time we will make pasta!
Meeting Fredo, Jo and Luigi at the Minardi Winery was the highlight of our trip to Rome so far. It’s a gorgeous location, we met wonderful people and had fun while we learned to make ravioli and fettuccini. I HIGHLY recommend this cooking class/tour!
Vraiment plaisant ambiance familiale et nous sommes vraiment bien reçu Une place à revoir
Great day with my wife in the roman countryside. Highly recommended!
We cannot say one bad thing about this experience. Jo was absolutely PHENOMENAL. the experience was so authentic and everyone was so welcoming and of course the food was EXCELLENT. We loved this experience so much we are considering buying a home in Frascati. Thank you for this wonderful start to our trip!
What an outstanding day! My cooking class and visit to Frascati was amazing from the get-go. I cannot thank Alfredo and his family, Luigi and Jo enough for all of the hard work and passion that goes into everything they do. The pasta making was simple and authentic, and the end result was delicious. We tried a few of the local wines and they paired with our food so well, I even got a bottle to bring home. Jo is the hostess with the mostest, encouraging you during your cooking and she really does bring so much life into what she does. After two weeks on holiday in Italy I can say that my day in Frascati was my favourite.
Everything about the experience was great! We did the pizza option (they also do a pasta class) The food was amazing and the people were even better. If we're ever back in the area we would 100% go again.
Absolutely amazing experience, the best part of visiting Rome. Nico and Eduardo were excellent guides. We'd recommend this to anyone.
The class was amazing! The food and wine was delicious. Everyone who hosted/taught the class were so fun and nice! Probably one of my favorite experiences in Rome. Would for sure do it again.
We have been to Rome 4 times before, so we decided to try something a little different. The pizza making class and winery tour was the perfect choice. There were just 4 of us with our host. We made pizza and the other couple made pasta. It was so fun and the end results were delicious. If you are looking to get away from the tons of tourists, try this unique day learning the Roman way to make pasta and pizza, paired with some delicious food and wine. You will not regret it!
It was such an amazing day. The food was amazing the wine was delicious. It was easy to go to and they picked us up from the train station. The class was only three people. And again the food and wine was so so so great.
My brother and I loved this class. There were only 4 of us so we learned a lot. We learned two types of pasta and the other group learned pizza. The antipasta that we were given before eating the pasta was delicious. The wine was fantastic.
Had a delightful time with Josephine. It was beautiful to get out into the country and meet local people.
Our experience at the Roman Countryside Winery Tour and Pasta Making Class was absolutely fantastic. The man in charge (Alfredo), the chef (Luigi) and the tour guide (Nico) were all extremely friendly and made our visit one to remember. Their passion for their town, food, and wine was contagious. All of the food and wine was delicious. It was an authentic Italian experience! We will definitely recommend this class to others!
Really friendly fun cookery class. My second time taking visitors to the class. Great day out from Rome set in the family vineyard, you actually feel like a friend visiting rather than a client. The cookery class is really fun and informative and then followed by the lunch and wine tasting which is fantastic.
This was one of the highlights of our whole trip. Only 25 minutes on the train out of Rome and you feel like you’re a world away. Sipping wine in the country side, and eating the most amazing pasta. Our tour guide was so lovely, she was very informative & interperates everything for you. (And a very funny lady!) Our group was only 6 people which we really enjoyed.. The cooking class was so much fun and the chef/teacher was great! Would go back again.. the town of Frascati is so lovely. We had some drinks before the train trip home at a little bar near the station.
I love getting out of Rome for the day and seeing the beautiful countryside of Frascati. Our guide Jo was terrific! The Minardi vineyard was beautiful with so much history and obvious passion for food and wine! Highly recommend this tour and experience!
We were picked up at the train station by Jo (Josephine) and immediately felt welcomed . Jo gave us a tour Frascati, her home town. Her knowledge and passion made the experience so much more vibrant and enjoyable . We then went to the winery and was greeted by Luigi , the Chef to make amazing pasta . We then meet family who ran the winery and took a tour . The hospitality throughout this experience was amazing .
We were unfortunately arrived late because of flight delays and traffic, but we eventually made it. Francesca was wonderful and her recipes are ones that we are excited to make again! The food was amazing. She is also a sommelier and paired wonderful wines with the meal! I would definitely recommend to everyone.
We have done many days out like this and I have to say this really was one of the best. Easy to get to by public transport, NB the train platform is 400 metres from the main platforms so leave time. You get a short tour of Friscati, then of to the winery where we received a very warm welcome by the whole family. The pizza making class was great, not as simple as you would think. We were then given a tour of the vineyards and shown how they used to make the wine many years ago. The small museum of all the old equipment was really interesting. Then it was back to the serious stuff of wine tasting and eating the yummy pizza we’d made. You really felt like you were a family guest and not just a paying customer. Certainly one of the best cookery days out we’ve had. We live in Rome and have many visitors, so we will be visiting again for sure. Thank you, we’ll be back.
Great tour with hands on experience on pizza making in a small group. Will definitely recommend the experience :)
The pizza making and winery tour class was fantastic. We really enjoyed this. Had a great day learning how to make the pizza and tasting some wine and good food. The people that work there and helped us were wonderful and extremely helpful and friendly. I would definately recommend this to anyone.
The highlight of this experience was the pasta making and then eating our creations! Now that I'm home, I realize I should have asked for the sauce recipes for the two kinds of pasta we made though (Luigi is obviously a rockstar chef). There were only four people in our group, which was appreciated! I think a lot of the winery tour information got lost in translation for us. As wine lovers from California, we were really looking forward to that part. My only two, very small suggestions would be to provide recipe cards at the end so we can take them home and maybe structure the winery tour part a little more. The day was amazing though, we loved it!
Josephine and Alfredo were the most wonderful hosts! We were transported to small town Italy within striking distance of Rome. The town tour was perfect, making pasta was so fun and educational and the place we did it was so atmospheric. Everyone we met from Mr. Minardi to our pasta teacher to the dogs were friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were also delicious. One of us had a birthday and they found some candles to put in a tiramisu. This was our favorite day of a week in Italy. We even spontaneously sang and played piano at the wine tasting. Thanks guys!!
I would highly recommend this cooking experience and winery tour to EVERYONE! Jo (Josephine), our instructor was very personable, really fun, engaging, and helpful! I learned a lot during the pasta making and then we went to the family winery where we had a tour with Alfredo and his father. The tour was good but the wine tasting was even better! We've been to wine tasting in the US... this was not like those! They served us glasses of wine, snacks, delicious olive oil and then we went back to the restaurant and ate an amazing spread of antipasta, and our pasta creations! It was delicious, easy to get to and WELL worth the money! So much fun! Thank you for an incredible experience Jo and Alfredo! Your hospitality was amazing and so appreciated!!!! <3 <3
What a nice day! Lovely to see frascati. Then make the pasta and Walk through the Lovely frascati wine garden. Very nice tasting there with nice bites. Compliments for the combinations. After it the lovely lunch with wine again. Great day with great people!
What a perfect evening - Alfredo showed us around his home town of frascati and had so much knowledge of all the history. Very informative and such a beautiful place! The vineyard and winery were wonderful, interesting Minardi family history of generations of winemakers and delicious wine! The pizza class was a great experience with an amazing outcome and many helpful tips on how to make the perfect pizza at home. Grazie mille!!!
Great, intimate experience in the country side of Rome. Would highly recommend to all.
This day was so incredible and I would highly recommend for anyone to do this. The pasta class was fun and informative but the best part was eating it later! best sauces I've ever had. Everyone we met was so lovely and the Minardi family are very welcoming. Every wine you have is delightful! Thank you for a wonderful day.
An amazing family and tour. Priceless experience. Get way more than what is paid for. Highlight of the trip.
My wife and I decided to get out of the city to explore the surrounding area -- we didn't expect Frascati to be so wonderful! It's a quaint town and with Max/Alfredo to show us around, we couldn't have asked for a better time. The pasta was fun to make, the vineyard was magical as was the wine tour/tasting, and finally dining on the very pasta we made was so satisfying. All in all, we highly recommend this experience if you are able to!
The Minardi winery tour and pasta class was a highlight of our Rome vacation! The pasta class was very enjoyable, with both learning and fun. Connections to Frascati were exactly as described on the web, in a comfortable quick train from Termini station. We were met by Jo, who is an excellent local guide as well as instructor. Jo shared local history of this lovely hill town as our group of six walked to the restaurant. Jo’s co-teacher was a pasta pro, an Italian grandma who is hands on yet encouraging. After the fettuccine preparation was completed we had a short walk about Frascati, then driven five minutes to the Minardi winery. The family has made wines here for nine generations. We were shown the vineyard by the family patriarch and his son, the current vintner. After an overview of the growing techniques, they shared their home’s sweeping views then the homes’ old cellars and historic equipment before tasting the current vintages with antipasti. A very beautiful and educational day ending back at the restaurant to enjoy the pasta we made for lunch! A short walk back to the train for the return ride to Rome. A great day of Italian culture we’d never have experienced otherwise!
The class was amazing, couldn't recommend it any more. If your on the fence book now!
From our host patiently waiting at the train station for over an hour due to mechanical delays to tasting wines overlooking rome, the pasta making class was incredible. Our highlight of Italy, easily the most fun we had. The meal served with our homemade pasta was the single best meal in my life. Fantastic across the board. An absolute must do for anyone coming to italy!
When in Rome, my husband and I decided to take a pasta making class with a wine tour in the nearby town of Frascati. It was one of the best experiences of our trip! We took the train from Temini Station to Frascati - an easy 25 minute journey. Once we got off, we met Jo, or tour guide, who, as someone educated in the UK, spoke perfect English yet knew every nook and cranny of the town, including every person we passed! She told us stories about the town as we walked through and even bought us some local delicacies (porchetta sandwiches and wine made in the 'old way'). After walking through town, we went to a small restaurant where we were taught to make pasta and gnocchi. Our instructor, Emry, had tons of patience with us and managed to teach us how to make pasta even with a language barrier. We made pasta dough from scratch and were given gnocchi dough to work with (since it takes significantly longer to make gnocchi). After the class, we we were picked up by Alfredo from the Minardi Winery. Alfredo, a ninth-generation winemaker, gave us a personal tour through the winery - land his family has been on for over 500 years. We had a wine tasting of some amazing Minardi wines paired with local food sitting outside on the patio overlooking the wine valley below. Once we finished the tasting, we were taken back to the restaurant where the chef had made our pasta into delicious meals - gnocchi with asparagus in a cream sauce and fettuccine in a red sauce. We were also given more wine from the Minardi winery, a spread of cured meats and cheeses, and honey-ricotta spread. At the end of the day, we wandered through Frascati on our own and then took the train back to Rome (it runs once an hour). It was a great day outside the hustle-and-bustle of Rome. We loved seeing a different perspective of Italian life as we walked through this old village, and would highly recommend this tour to anyone else going to Rome!
Good instruktions on pastamaking . The day was well organized - at nice tour in the town and on the wineyard
The pizza making was lots of fun and a delicious outcome! We were a small group and we all had a blast. The walking tour around the town was fantastic. And then the winery! Probably the highlight of this tour! The family was so lovely and welcoming. Would HIGHLY recommend this to everyone who is going to Italy/Rome, this is a must do!
The chef is very good and very professional, however you only prepare the raw pasta, and we would have liked to prepare the sauce that goes with it and have a full culinary experience. The wine tour was a blast
Such bang for your buck!! This was hands down the highlight of my trip to Rome. You get off the train, and your guide greets you immediately. They take you around town and give you interesting facts and history on Frascoti. Then you go to some local shops to try local bread, wine, and meat. Then you're off to a local restaurant to make pasta (easy and fun -- but I'll never take boxed pasta for granted ever again!) Next you get a tour of the Manardi winery -- you'll meet members of the Manardi family who are all so kind and love showing you around their property. You taste their different wines, eat great bread, and have quality conversations about Italy with the guide / family. Then you get to go back to the restaurant to enjoy your pasta! It was so great being able to see the Roman country side! Definitely added a lot to my stay. 100% would recommend.
Can't speak more highly of this tour, and have recommended it to all our friends and family! Our guides Alfredo and Max were amazing and fun. They took us on a very cool little tour of Frascati where we learned and saw lots, and had some wine! Afterwards we headed to a pizzeria where the chef taught us how to make pizza, very fun!! We were the only people on the tour so it was very personal. Next we headed to a BEAUTIFUL vineyard that has been in the family for 7 generations where we learned about how their wine is made, and the history of how the process has changed over the years. We had generous amounts of wine paired with yummy breads, cheeses, wine cookies and wine jelly.
Every part of this tour was just awesome. Private guide touring around historical Friscati sampling local wine & LOTS of food. Beautiful vineyard and property and the most lovely hosts. Highly recommend!
I couldn't have asked for a better day in Rome with my friends. We spent a wonderful day with Alfredo and his dad at this winery. We felt a very warm welcome from the family. We first met Alfredo at the train station. We had a blast making fresh pasta and gnocchi. We tasted 3 wines and had super delicious cheeses, meats, bread and cookies. Once our wine tour was complete we were taken back to the tavern to dine with the pasta we had made. Such a wonderful day which I would highly recommend.
Our family, the Minardi Family, is one of Frascati’s oldest and best-known families. Historically they were landowners and vintners, owning much of what is now Frascati DOCG terrain.
