Blue Elephant Cooking School Bangkok

The cooking school is located in a beautiful historic building with over 100 years of history. Walking into the house already felt like a special experience. Overall, aside from the market tour being a bit disappointing, the rest of the experience was thoughtfully designed and well worth it. It was a lovely way to experience Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

The environment was clean and hygienic. Both the instructor who accompanied us on the market tour and the chef who taught the cooking class were highly professional and friendly, and all of our questions were thoroughly answered. Even though there were only a few students, the instructors never became perfunctory; every step of each dish was taught in a solid and meticulous manner. We highly recommend this experience.

The class was well organized, instruction was clear and the people were friendly and fun. This was the best experience!

Great visit to the local market. The shedule mentioned some theory class about the basic Thai ingredients but I haven’t received it. Nevertheless we cooked 4 dishes and the experience was great. I learned so much that I know realise I only know so little. I would definitely recommend it.

The morning cooking class started with a local market tour and ended with a nice lunch prepared by ourselves and the Blue elephant restaurant. The staff and the cooking teachers were very kind and professional. My boyfriend and I not only enjoyed the class, but also felt the sense of achievement of successfully made four Thai cuisines! The class is a bit expensive but I think it was quite worth it!

Very enjoyable afternoon, learnt a lot and had a laugh too.

The class was fun and informative however by the time you get to eat your food it's cold which is pretty disappointing. It really needs to be more clear that Sunday morning class starts at 10am and not 8:45am.

Will definitely join again next time I am in Bangkok.

I really enjoyed cooking 4 dishes and the conversation with other students. It is a good chance to understand Thailand culture and I recommend this cooking school to all the travelers visiting in Bangkok. The original apron of Blue Elephant was so cute!

I had a great experience interacting with local people. The visit to the market was great and informing. Chefs were knowledgeable and fun, and even walked the extra mile to accommodate my dietary needs. The place is very clean and the whole building and restaurant very charming. We had a very pleasant and intense moment with the friendly chief. We discovered many flavours. No doubt we’ll be back next time we are in Bangkok.

The chef was responsive and informative. The lesson was conducted in a relaxed manner. The icing on the cake was the grandeur venue for the dining of our cooked dishes.

The tutors are very knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. We produced a tasty 4 course meal which we enjoyed with other students in the restaurant. We have been here before but now we want to spend each day with the cooking classes available on our schedule. We were welcomed with drinks and happy faces. Everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm. We were given a brief introduction about Thai culture and it's exquisite cuisines. The kitchen was housed on a century-old building, creating a feeling of time travel in addition to the exquisite dining experience. The process and techniques were carefully and systematically handed out by the instructor who speaks English fluently. Room for questions was also a plus and made the room comfortable and fun. We were also given a certificate for finishing the course. Every dish made, turned out sumptuous.

We loved everything from market trip to the cooking class. The Chef instructor was excellent and had a great sense of humor! Thank you!!

The class was perfect from beginning to end. Enjoyed every moment of it and now I can continue to enjoy Thai food at home!

Coming for more classes

It would have been helpful to start out with a little more direction. By the 3rd dish I was able to catch on to the flow and able to identify most of the ingredients. It would have been helpful to have the ingredients labeled on the prep table for those of us who were more of a Asian spice novice.

We opted for the morning session with the market tour based on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. Now just got to find time to try out the recipes when we get home.
