House of Taste Thai Cooking School

This is a great value class for beginners, with a good variety of dishes prepared with solid ingredients and some storytelling flair. The downsides are that the equipment is not great - particularly knives and woks. Again, if you don't sharpen your knives or worry about how to cook in different pans, none of this will matter to you.

Chef Pim and her team did a fantastic job in running the class. We fully enjoyed the class and knowledge gained. The cooking sessions completed the entire experience. Made new friends too!

We had pad thai, tom yum and mango sticky rice for our dessert, we came in a large group and it was fun and learnt a few things about some of the ingredients. We came here in a group of 10, Chel was so funny and so nice, we got to learn the process of our dishes and made the experience fun and involving from all of us, the food was absolutely amazing! We had pad thai, tom yum, papaya salad and to finish mango sticky rice for dessert!. Was such a good experience. I've had the privilege to learn how to cook Thai food from Miss Chel. She's extremely professional and friendly. She has made learning how to cook enjoyable with lots of laughter. Great service and would recommend to anyone visiting Thailand Phuket.

Highly recommended, especially for those staying in Karon or Kata. The course includes pick-up and drop-off, and they picked us up from the hotel on time to go to the local market. We learned about so many Thai spices - I loved browsing the market! Then we went to the kitchen classroom, which was clean and beautiful, located in the hotel lobby on a small hill - great scenery and fresh air. The course structure was very reasonable. Even someone like me who doesn't usually cook could fully enjoy the fun of cooking. Small class sizes meant everyone received hands-on guidance. Most importantly, the instructor, Miss Chel, was incredibly nice and even bought us drinks during breaks. Remember to come to class on an empty stomach, because you'll be eating a lot!

My family and I enjoyed this so much and our teacher shell was the best teacher! She helped us though every step and explained all steps. I couldn't recommend a better company to work with and we all enjoyed this so much!

A friend visiting from abroad booked us into a Thai cooking school in Lower Sukhumvit, and it turned out to be a totally fun experience, even though I’ve lived here 15 years and know the food well. April was our teacher for a lively class of 14, and she and her assistants were terrific. She mixed history, humor, and calm efficiency while keeping everything moving. I even produced some tasty dishes, though I’ve yet to recreate them at home. Kudos to April and House of Taste Thai for sharing the deliciousness of Thai food with guests from around the world. Highly recommended.

The best choice made to celebrate birthday by spending a special time at the cooking class :) All dishes are easy to made and delicious! The explanation of each fresh ingredients and the spices also help a lot to understand Thai food better. The cooking class atmosphere and the people who run and join the class were all nice and kind. Also thank you for the birthday surprise and also the cake! It was so touching <3 I am 100% recommending to anyone who love Thai food and want to experience something different while in Bangkok. investing 4 hours of your day was more than worth it!

Lovely recepies, food and class

The four hours flew by, and both the cooking demonstrations and the actual cooking were tremendous fun. The atmosphere in the class was great, thanks to our cooking instructors. It's a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone, especially here.

This was my second course, the first was about 18 months ago and I was on an afternoon class - which was brilliant. When I checked into my hotel the concierge asked what I was aiming to do during my stay, when I mentioned the course he knew exactly which one it was and recommended I do the morning course with the market tour. The tour was brilliant and May was very knowledgable and insightful. From there we went back to the school and proceeded to cook 4 dishes, I had checked to make sure they were different to my last visit. The vibe within the school was brilliant and May kept us all on track with the preparation and her stories about Bangkok life. If you are reading this then don’t hesitate to book - it’s such fun and both times I’ve been the classes have had such an eclectic mix of people who all got on. Only have a light breakfast as everything you cook you eat and 4 courses by lunch, while lovely, did leave me thinking a smaller breakfast would have been a good idea.

We had a really good experience during this cooking class with our teacher and her team. We learned a lot of details and got to take the recipes home. We cooked and ate and cooked and ate.. it was really delishous thai food. It was easy with a food allergy to attend the class, because we saw all ingredients and could control fully what we put on our own plate. I highly recommend this class!

Well organised, the whole day worked like clockwork. Teacher April maintained a helpful and humorous approach for the whole four hours. Her explanations for both prepping and cooking were crystal clear and the results were astonishingly good. That from me, someone who can make a mess of feeding the cat! The market trip provided background to ingredients. The choice of dishes was excellent and the results inspired confidence in those attending. The dishes change throughout the week. I will most likely attend a second day to increase my repertoire. A fun and rewarding day all round!

At the beginning of the day, Mayee told us a lot about the local vegetables at the market; we were able to smell and taste everything. Afterwards, we went to a local supermarket where we could buy some spices. The cooking class was fantastic, beautifully presented, and the food was fabulous 😃 Thanks again for the informative morning!

April was our teacher and she was very entertaining. Her English is perfect, she even speaks with an Amerikan accent. She made jokes and broke the ice for everyone. The atmosphere was fun. We got a good basic insight in the Thai cuisine. There is probably much more to know, but April did a good job by giving us a strong basis to build upon. At the end she shared multiple recepies. I definitely recommend it!

Everyone had their own stove and could cook everything themselves. I also liked the introduction into Thai cooking and many insights - like how coconut milk is made.

The instructor was very nice and his explanations were easy and helpful. I learned so much about the different ingredients and the outcoming was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend and definitely do again! Thank you :)

Meine Tochter (10) und ich hatten einen super Nachmittag mit Pim. Alle Zutaten, Arbeitsschritte wurden uns ausführlich erklärt. Pin macht das auf eine lockere und lustige Art. Jeder Teilnehmer konnte selbst entscheiden, wie scharf sein Gericht sein soll oder Zutaten weglassen. Die selbst zubereiteten Gerichte wurden zusammen gegessen. Im Anschluss haben wir alle Rezepte zum Download bekommen. Würden es jederzeit wieder machen.

Really enjoyed this cooking class - the highlight of my time in Bangkok. Market tour was interesting to learn about typical foods used in Thai cooking. Then we went back to a cooking school location. Everyone had the chance to make all of the dishes, which was great (obviously some parts of some dishes were pre-prepared by the chefs to save time). Everything was delicious, and we were provided the recipes to make them back at home. The instructor answered all of our questions and was very nice and patient. There were maybe ~12 of us in the class, so it was a good small number and everyone was nice. An easy class to do as a solo traveler (like me) to meet people, as a couple, or in a small group.

What an amazing experience Alex our instructor had so much knowledge and patience. They accommodated all dietary requirements and the food was delicious all made with fresh local ingrediants. A must do experience on your trip can't recommend it highly enough.

This class was a 10/10! Ticha was so sweet and accommodating and had such a depth of knowledge about cooking! The dishes were absolutely superb and probably the best food I’ve had in Thailand so far! We got all of our ingredients fresh from the market and each dish was made completely from scratch but so quick! I honestly could not recommend this course more! I am a vegan and it was so nice that there was a really good alternative for me for each dish!

Most organised cooking class I've been to. Food was fresh, delicious, served warm, authentic. Everyone got to have a go (no passive shared dishes).

A little tour of the local Khlong Toei market gave us a feel of the local food stuffs and the tuk tuk ride back to school was a bonus. Learning the authentic thai cooking way from Pim was a joy as she made all looked so easy to cook. The 4 dishes were yummy! But I was so full that I felt so sleepy after the class! : ) It would be great if more could be done to make the experience more personable and deeper and engage the different participants from across the world. It was great to be able to meet people from around the world in this cooking class! Feedback : I was late for 5min at meeting point and was brought by one of the assistants to the market to meet the rest. She seemed not very familiar with the stalls that Pim would be going to and spent the next 10 min walking round and round the market looking for the teacher. And she could not understand or speak English. The experience would be much better if only the assistant had been more familiar with where the teacher would be going to so as not to waste unnecessary time searching.

Honestly, this was one of my favorite experiences ever. The teacher is quite knowledgeable both in Thai cooking and using local resources. She makes the class so much fun and the food is delicious! Come hungry!

The tour at the market was very interesting. Our teacher is good at explaining the ingredients as well as the cooking. The group was friendly and I would like to come again.

The cooking class is generally well planned and the instructor was clear on her instructions. The hands-on cooking is a very valuable experience to know what to expect. The duration and the number of dishes are just right. The tour of the market was an eye-opening experience! A few things to suggest: 1. The kitchen is somewhat narrow for a class of 12. Reconfiguration of the limited space may be good. 2. The flooring was slippery, it may have safety hazards. 3. The wok was light and wobble on the stove. Perhaps a frying pan may be a good alternative. I enjoyed the class and may consider to sign up again in the future!

Being a professional cook, i thought i already know a lot but i was wrong. Thailand is very diverse and their way in cooking tells a lot about their history and culture. When i got to experience the local market tour, there were still a lot of ingredients that i did not know of. Pimlada was very kind and shared unique Thai cooking techniques in using spices and herbs. I learned a lot in just a day. The dish we made from scratch was definitely the highlight for me. It was perfect! We also got to share each other's finished dish and i eventually got to meet new people and friends. It was an authentic Thai experience, with food, culture and people. I would definitely recommend this class!

I bought this for my dad while I had to work in Bangkok. He LOVED it. He raved about all of the dishes and the trip to the market. I’m so glad I bought this for him!

This was a great afternoon activity to learn Thai cooking in a relaxed and clean environment. We made five dishes and learned background information about the base ingredients used in Thai food. Come with an empty stomach as you will eat each course as you make it. They take care of the basic things, like peeling carrots and shelling shrimp, but the rest you do from scratch. Excellent activity to do while in Bangkok and I would highly recommend House of Taste.

It was a very nice morning class! We had the full Thai Cooking experience! First a visit at the market and then very informative cooking class where everyone could cook on their own Wok! Really learned a lot and still had heaps of fun! Thanks for the great day!

Good class arrangement

I took 2 cooking classes with House of Taste Thai Cooking School. One in the afternoon and one in the morning. The meeting spot was on the subway line, however I was late and emailed the teacher ahead of the meeting time to inform. No response was returned that got me a little worried. I had difficulties with transportation to my first class but got there 10-15 minutes after by motorbike. The teacher had already started the class but I joined seamlessly. The first class we made: Tom Khai Gai (spicy coconut soup w/chicken) Pad Thai Goong Som Tum Red Curry w/Chicken Mango Sticky Rice. The second class was similar dishes. The organization of the class as well as the cooking stations were organized and cleaned efficiently after the we made our dishes. A great support staff the school has. The teacher Pim didn't really engage in discussion after teaching each dish, more was on her phone kind of disengaged from the class. This was ok, as my classmates had a lot of things to talk about, just kind of disappointing to see. There's no transfers(transportation to/from) the class so make sure you know where you are going after. I used GRAB bike to get to where I needed to go after. All on all a good cooking class and well organized.

Pim was super friendly, engaging and knowledgable. She gave good information about the local ingredients and possible alternatives/substitutions of which ingredients to use back home to replicate the dishes. Overall, the class was very well organized, easy to follow and great for all levels. The space was clean and well laid out, I would definitely recommend to friends and family!

We enjoyed the class. The instructions were clear. The experience was positive. It may have been good to have sheets before hand of the ingredients in English and Thai and instructions for preparing each dish. The organizer promised to send that after.

The environment was very good, full of friendly people, specially the chef who was super nice and made us all have a great time. The only thing I'd change is maybe to cook one less dish and spend a little more time on the preparation/explanation of each dish as I have the feeling everything moved a bit too fast. But all in all it was a pretty nice experience!

The teacher/chef Pim was witty and engaging from the very start. Her teaching was clear precise and the results a gastronomic treat. There were 5 dishes taught, all of which can be easily reproduced at home in Australia. Pim emailed the recipes which are clear concise and include method. Enjoyed the market tour a lot. What a diversity of products compared to the average supermarket! Cooking class was well organized. Everyone cooked their own dishes. Made the best Tom Yam Kung and Padt Thai ever - and I've had quite a few living in Thailand - with the help of our lovely Thai cook and her assistant. It's all about the ingredients. The activity is well organized, but it is bit rush. The lecturer gave a lot of information but speaks too fast. The members with me were friendly. I could enjoy well.

This was an amazing cooking class. Well asorted menu, great venue, well organized and beautiful dishes. Pim spoke really good english and is a very good teacher. I had booked this course online and it was above expectation. The scenery was so nice and the food was fingerlicking good. I would do this class 3 more times if I could.

My parents and I REALLY enjoyed the class. The cooking school was new, it was very clean and the interior was really nice. Teacher and the assistant were so kind and the recipe was easy to follow and most of all the food was delicious! Make sure you leave your stomach empty before going to the class :D

our Chef Pim waited for us at the subway station and took us to her school. the place is brand new, it is spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything was so well organized and Pim was a great host. She is a professional with a good sense of humor . overall it was a great experience. The food we made was absolutely amazing. probably the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten. All 5 dishes were amazing .Highly recommend this course. great value for the money.
