Masako-san was incredibly sweet. We cooked three memorable recipes, had a wonderful conversation, and sent me home with handmade souvenirs. I would love to do another course the next time I'm in Tokyo.
I recently had the pleasure of joining the Traditional Tokyo Home Cooking class, and it exceeded all my expectations. This wasn’t just a cooking class—it was an immersive cultural experience. We learned to make handmade udon, crispy tempura, and a perfectly rolled Japanese omelette, all under the expert guidance of a master chef. The process was enlightening, with each step meticulously explained, making the art of Japanese cooking accessible and enjoyable. What made this experience even more special was the personal touch added by the master. After we finished cooking, he complimented our efforts by writing each participant’s name in beautiful Kanji on a piece of rice paper. Watching him carefully craft the characters was a highlight in itself, adding a deep cultural connection to the already memorable experience. The food we prepared was nothing short of exceptional—the udon was delightfully chewy, the tempura was light and crisp, and the omelette was fluffy and flavorful. But it was the combination of learning, cooking, and the unexpected art of Kanji that made this class truly unforgettable.
My visit to Traditional Tokyo Home Cooking was nothing short of exceptional. The handmade udon was a masterpiece, with the perfect balance of chewiness and flavor that only comes from true dedication to the craft. The tempura was light, crispy, and perfectly complemented the fresh ingredients used. The omelette was fluffy and flavorful, showcasing the elegance of simple, well-executed dishes. What made the experience truly unique was the personalized touch at the end. The master calligrapher's handwritten message, filled with grace and artistry, was a beautiful memento that captured the essence of traditional Japanese hospitality. It wasn't just a meal; it was a cultural journey that I will cherish forever. Highly recommended to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable Tokyo culinary experience!
We had such a great time making udon, tempura, and tamagoyaki! Masako-san was so sweet and patient. Highly recommended.
Lovely hostess (Masaka). Fun udon noodle class and excellent food. Masaka was generous and made us feel welcome in her kitchen.
Masako is an amazing person. She is very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Also, she has couple of talents with master's degree. I joined with my husband for Udon class. We started to prepare the food and cook; she was a brilliant teacher with lots of helpful tips for everything. The food was delicious and traditional Japanese experience using local ingredients. At the end of the class, she made for us very special gift too. That experience is an unforgettable time in Japan. I really recommend having this experience while in Tokyo.

Masako-san is a very lovely and kind woman and really enjoys cooking! It was much fun with her and she give us way more than just a regular udon class! Thank you very much for this nice experience!
Loved the cultural experience!
Masako-san and her assistant Akemi-san welcomed us to their cooking studio ready to go - showing us how to prepare five different dishes, including udon, which was made the old-fashioned way. We could not have asked for a better introduction to Japanese cooking and culture. It was hands-on instruction, where we created tasty dishes and learned about recipes handed down through the generations. We highly recommend this class and hope you're able to meet Masako, too.
We had fun making noodles from scratch! we enjoyed while attending this class. But our favorite part was tasting the food we made! Totally one to book.
Not only I learned how to prepare udon noodles, but also Japanese omelette and tempura. Masako is a lovely hostess who will teach you the traditional way of cooking in Japan. It was a great moment, thank you !
Die Gastgeberin hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert. Wir haben nicht nur gelernt, wie man Udon macht, sondern auch Tamagoyaki und Tempura.
I had so much fun learning how to prepare tamagoyaki, udon noodles, and tempura! It was an amazing experience and I had an awesome time learning the techniques and skills to make these delicious dishes at home!
We had a great time from cooking to mealtime. The best cooking class I have experienced so far. Me and my friends had a wonderful time during the class. We had to prepare our Teuchi Udon and made fresh noodles from scratch. I would definitely cook this recipe at home. The instructor was very friendly, kind, and hospitable, and he was generous enough to share all his experiences and ideas to help us understand Japanese culture and tradition during our meal. It was fun and we all had good conversations and exchanged diverse culture and tradition. Very informative and a memorable cooking experience.
My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. The class was very hands on and the teacher was very warm and helpful. I would highly recommend this class.
It was a great experience, to learn how to make a local dish, along with the culture of the area.
The instructor was extremely kind, patient, amiable and very very hospitable. She picked us up from the station, prepared the ingredients and guided us step by step as well as shared her calligraphy talents with us. It was a very creative, fun, extraordinary class! The food we made was also very delicious and healthy. We all enjoyed her special recipes that’s very different from what I had in restaurants. Definitely a five star ⭐️ to her!!!
it was a cute little cooking class with lots of one on one time. We were able to get hands-on experience and didn‘t feel like just watching & learning. She explained every step very detailed and we are looking forward to trying the recipes at home.
We want to share our special recipes with you that have been inherited and served in our family. These are very simple and easy to make. It takes from 20 to 40 minutes. We especially put importance on the fact that you could make them when you go back to your country.
After we cook delicious dishes, we hold a food tasting. At that time, we are looking forward to exchanging about traditional cuisine, your story and country. We serve very fun cooking time and mealtime.
