Oui is the best cooking instructor I could’ve asked for!!! She’s accommodating to any dietary needs and allows you to cook the dishes to your liking. Her attention to detail is awesome. I learned so much about traditional thai cuisine. Her private groups allow for a much more personal experience. I would definitely do it all over again if I’m ever in Chiang Mai again. You will not regret booking with her!!!
What we wanted we got. We wanted to visit the market and see the produce and items we needed as well as learn about them more. We wanted a great space to work in ideally with only a handful of people and for a great teacher to be helpful, funny and can speak good English as I’m appalling at Thai. We got everything!! Maximum o 4 people and we had the privilege of being invited to cook at Qui’s home. Even better, it was outside under a fixed canopy with very clean and professional equipment to work with. I couldn’t have asked for more! The dishes were the usual ones but our great teacher gave us more choices if we wanted to make something different. Timon wise was spot on and If you’re looking for the above... book it now!

Cooking with Oui was absolutely the highlight of my boyfriend and my trip. First she took us to the market to teach us about the different ingredients used in traditional Thai dishes. She shared samples of 10+ ingredients and sweet treats with us. Next she took us to her beautiful home where we cooked outside in the cover of her leafy garden. From start to finish we had an exceptional experience. The dishes we cooked were amazing, better than anything we got at a restaurant. She played everything beautifully for us to photograph. Her husband Peter, did the dishes for us and sat to converse as well. At the end, we enjoyed a cup of espresso and conversation, she boxed up our leftovers, and took us home. (She also picked us up.) The day was effortlessly amazing and I have already recommended to many people. Thank you so much Oui for a special day we will always remember.
Trichada was incredible. My husband and I took her cooking class, we are big foodies so this was a very exciting day for us. At the market she had us try some local stalls food (all delicious) and taste, smell, and touch, the ingredients we would be using for the evening. We cooked so muxh food and everything was bright, spicy, and tasty. She made this class tons of fun. We would recommend her hands down to anyone who is visiting Chiang Mai!
We had the best day visiting the local market and cooking with Oui in her home. She picked us up at our hotel in the Old City and took just the two of us to the market, where we got a very personal tour. She knows everyone, so we got to taste lots of little treats and learned about ingredients she uses to cook all the traditional Thai meals. After the market, she took us back to her house to cook. Her setup is perfect - we each had our own personal cook station in the shade outside and got to make 5 different dishes each. Oui and her husband Peter are wonderful people, and it was so nice spending the day chatting with them and learning from Oui - she truly loves what she does and is an extremely talented cook and teacher. We ate until we couldn't eat anymore, and are looking forward to trying to recreate all of the delicious food back home in Alaska! Oui and Peter's hospitality can't be beat and if you are looking to do a cooking class when in Thailand, this is the one - it was one of our favorite things we did on our whole trip! Thank you Oui!!!
First and foremost, I chose Trichada's class over her competitors as she offered a wider selection of dishes per category and full customization upon request. Additionally, her tasting menu offered five courses as opposed to the standard four. What sold me was her Thai custard in pumpkin dessert exclusively found nowhere else on Cookly! Trichada, or nickname Oui, has been teaching Thai cooking for over four years. She is passionate, fluent in English and very knowledgeable. She keeps her lessons personal but instructing no more than 4 students at a time, so we all get enough one-on-one time in the kitchen. The day begins where she will pick you up from your accommodation and take the class to the local produce market. Trichada will go over the fundamental ingredients used in Thai cuisine -- the fresh coconut milk, jasmine rice vs. glutinous rice, a plethora of Thai herbs, chilis, vegetables, and poultry. She even bought us little pastry treats to try at the market. The class is held comfortably in her front yard surrounding by her organic garden -- literally farm to table experience. Trichada is very welcoming and offered us to try fresh starfruits from the tree out in her parkway. At no particular order of preference, I recommend all the dishes I cooked: satay chicken, tom khaa gai, panang curry, minced pork and spicy basil, and Thai custard in pumpkin. I highly recommend Trichada's class as she's a patient, passionate and wonderful teacher to learn from. She's been working in hospitality before her culinary endeavor , so her communication skills are not to worry.
Today I cooked with Oui at Trichada the cookery home. I've participated in multiple cooking classes in both Thailand and in other countries and this one was the best of them all. After a visit to the market I cooked a combination of Thai classics and a dish from the north east of Thailand called laab. All were delicious and Oui was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about her food. It was clear that she loves cooking and she manages to bring that across. Her cooking classes are very small, she accepts groups of max 6 people or 4 individuals that aren't a group. I was the only one today, but that was no problem at all. The class takes a bit longer than most cooking classes which meant we could do everything at leasure, and I still had part of the afternoon to do other things. We cooked a dish and I could enjoy the food, then cooked another until all five dishes plus the curry paste were finished. 10 out of 10.
The cooking is done in small classes in a relaxed style and environment. The host Oui will explain the basics of Thai cuisine in a very passionate way. I will recommend this cooking class to all my friends going to north Thailand/ Chiang Mai.
Oui is so passionate about food and her love for what she does makes it a joy to be around her. It was just my friend and me in the cooking class and we got a lot of personalized attention. Oui answered all of our questions at the market and let us taste some fresh ingredients. Then she took us to her home, welcomed us with yummy lemongrass tea, and we got cooking. Everything was delicious and seemed so easy with Oui’s guidance. We each got to pick our own menu and taste each other’s work. So much fun!
I had a wonderful day, instead of cancelling the day, Trichada made a personal cooking class for me, because a was the only one for the day. So I could wish what I want to cook and we decided to cook northern style, great! I'm very good prepared to bring theses recipes. First we started at the marked, I could try some unknown things and a was really surprised about the nice atmosphere and how they present all the products. Wonderful moments. All dishes were well prepared, taste great, easy cooking and it was a beautiful time, thanks a lot for all.
It was very authnetic yet intimate for us(Japanse), some are similar concept I appreciated. Facility was clean, cutomer friendly. It was good that we could choose differently from other friends so that we could exchange different taste. would like to introduce this cooking school to my friends. Enjoyable day.
We really enjoyed our first experience of cooking class all together ! We are 2 adults & 2 kids (11 & 14), we are French (speaking English) and a friend of us had recommended us this cooking class (fortunately because the offer is important). No surprise during this amazing day, everything happened as planned in the description : pick-up at the hotel, discovery and purchases of fresh local products at a beautiful market and a lot of explanations of Trichada about thaï food. We prepared 5 dishes each (19 different dishes for the four of us !) and tasted each one before cooking the next one. As we couldn't eat the last dish before the dessert, Trichada gave them us to take away. Trichada is really passionate by cooking and transmitting her knowledge, she's so kind and patient ! We strongly recommend this cooking class to everyone who stays in Chiang Mai.

It was our first cooking class and we really enjoyed it! Oui is a really nice person and you can see that she loves her job a lot. First we went to a local market what was very good to learn something about the ingredients. The cooking class was amazing we had so much fun and the food was so good. Oui shows a lot but you can do also a lot by yourself. It is really good that the groups are really small so you get always help if you need it. We can really recommend this cooking school! It was a fantastic experience! I booked this class through your website because it was the only one that would take bookings from one guest, and I did end up being the only guest. Khun Oui was warm, engaging and attentive, and her passion for cooking and for giving her guests an exceptional experience was evident. After she picked me up at my hotel in her car, she gave me an extensive menu to choose five items from, so we were ready to do the shopping once at the market. As we went from stand to stand, Khun Oui explained everything carefully, and even had me sample some Thai snacks. We then went to the school with its outside kitchen; I was greeted with a welcome drink (hot tea) before we got to work. As at the market, Khun Oui explained everything carefully, and though she did a lot of the work she let me do quite a bit of it, especially the cutting, pounding, and stirring. She put a lot of emphasis on the combination of aromas, flavours and colours. The food was plentiful, so my recommendation would be to go on a empty stomach or only a light breakfast. (She'll pack any leftovers as a take-away.) I also appreciated how she took care to present each item elegantly. Khun Oui's English is quite good so we had good conversation both from the hotel and back. It was a great choice!
I did a few cooking class before but this was one of the best ! First we went to the market where we bought what we needed to cook and I could taste a lot of Thai stuff. Then we cooked in her nice outdoor kitchen ! What makes it special is that I could choose the recipes I wanted to cook ( you have a big list with many choices and you have a vegetarian option as well ) and oui only takes 4-6 people contrary to the other courses which are more like a cooking class industry with 15 people... Oui takes the time to explain you everything and she's very generous ! Really lucky to had her as a teacher ! I had an amazing day with her. Thank you so much !
It was really lucky to joined Trichada's cooking class. Oui (the teacher) took care of our needs carefully, explain all ingredients and process in details, treat us snacks in the traditional market, perform magic with natural food...I cannot finish them here! She is such an excellent teacher with love and passionate for cooking. I suggest ppl here in Chiang mai who interest in cooking class must join this super high quality class. Totally worth it! We are the only 2 students that day.
Oui's cooking class was one of our favorite things we got to experience in Thailand. The entire 2 weeks we spent there we never found food quite as good as the food Oui helped us cook! She was so kind and a great teacher. We originally chose her cooking class because she offered a vegetarian menu and were so pleased with our decision. She picked us up from our hotel and took us to the local market where we got to try many different foods that we never would have known to try on our own and then took us to her home for the cooking lessons. She had a great set up outside on her patio with cooking stations for each of us. All of the Thai dishes we got to cook were amazing and I would highly recommend her class to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!
Trichada is the sweetest lady ever! Our visit to the market with her was eye opening and a lot of fun. We tasted here and there different foods from the market and shopped our fresh ingredients for the class ahead. Her husband was very welcoming and we were welcomed into their home with open arms! The day flew by and we left with full stomachs and a pocketful of recipes, inspiration and warm hearts! I would recommend Trichada any time and we would come again. We had a lovely day discovering, cooking and eating! <3
