We had such a wonderful experience at this Korean cooking class in Busan! The food was incredibly authentic and delicious — we learned how to prepare three traditional dishes: a Korean soup, bibimbap, and a Korean pancake. Everything tasted amazing and gave us a real insight into local Korean cuisine. Our host Min was exceptionally friendly, warm, and welcoming from the very beginning. She explained not only the cooking process, but also shared many interesting insights about Korean food culture and traditions, which made the experience even more special and educational. The kitchen was very well equipped, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, and we truly felt taken care of throughout the entire class. We would warmly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Busan — anytime and without hesitation. Thank you again, Min, for such a memorable experience!
My son and I had the best time doing this cooking class together. It was fun, collegial and deeply culturally instructive. We look forward to preparing these meals at home when we get back. This truly is the best thing that we can take home from our trip to Korea.
A very pleasant experience, Heeyoung is a top chef, very kind, patient and explains everything very well.
Min’s cooking class was great. She not only taught us how to cook three awesome dishes but also taught us lots about Korean culture and food. We highly recommend this class!
The cooking class with Heeyoung was the best cooking class we had in Asia. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we felt very welcome from the beginning. Her English is on point, and before we even started cooking, we learned a lot about Korean cuisine. In advance of the cooking class, she contacted us to organize our meals vegetarian. She even responded to our wishes. It was a very delicious day, and we had a lot of fun. We highly recommend the course!
Heeyeong was a wonderful host. From the get go, she was super friendly and just lovely to chat with. We spent some time drinking tea before cooking, chatting about our different cultures, her incredible life experience travelling and her journey of sharing Korean cuisine to people. She made AMAZING food (we helped but weren't very good) and everything was so relaxed and simple, not rushed. The lunch was superb homecooked food followed by a lovely tea ceremony and tangerines from Jeju. We went to the nearby Market thereafter, and the store owners were so friendly showing us their produce (not trying to sell anything, just hospitable lovely people), and Heeyeong kindly translated for us. We overran the original schedule but Heeyeong was so sweet and hospitable and even gave us her Whatsapp if we had any questions for food recommendations, and even sends us the recipes for the food we made for lunch. Definitely recommending this to friends and family. You'll come for a cooking class but leave with a deeper, warm connection to the Busan culture and people.
It was such a special time! As much an experience in the joy / approach to cooking as it was a lesson. We started with a taste test of homemade vs store-bought ingredients, guessing which was which and discussing their differences. This was a fabulous foundation to a deep exploration of different flavors and techniques that was too come. Not too simple (for example: I could have just used a cookbook and made this!) and not too complex (for example: this was fun, but I’ll never come close to recreating this!), it was a perfect balance that gives me new excitement and tips for folding this into my cooking back home. Included helpful tips for alternative ingredients that may be easier to find elsewhere. Followed by a tasty meal of our cooking, a tea ceremony and a tour of the market which inspired me to try some new things. Great discussion of Korean history and her family background throughout. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples (my experience) or families alike!
We highly recommend Junho's class. We went on a Thursday, so we made braised spicy chicken, sujebi, japchae, and seafood pancakes. All 4 dishes were delicious, it was very hard to pick a favorite! Junho was very patient and gave thorough explanations while encouraging us to try new things (like flipping the massive pancake!). He also provided a lot of interesting cultural information and tourism recommendations during the market tour. He was even kind enough to walk us to the bus stop after class to ensure that we made it on the right route to Gamcheon. All in all, an excellent experience!
Thanks Heeyoung! I had such a great time doing your cookery class! It was great from start to finish. I was lucky because I was the only person there that day, so it was 1:1! It was the best meal I'd had in South Korea - 4 different dishes. Scrumptious fresh local produce. Really nice environment in Heeyoung's studio & she's so friendly. I was really wowed at the local market too & interested in everything on sale! It came to an end too soon ... ha ha!
Junho was great as a Tourguide through the fish and foodmarket as well as a chef in his cooking studio. The dishes were diverified and well prepared. The quantity and quality of each dish was just perfect. We cook more than 5 different dishes and our chef Junho taught us the recepies as well as some insider tips on Korea and cooking in general. The combination of tour and cooking really worked for us! 10/10 would definitely come again.
Ja, verschillende kookscholen in Busan bieden veganistische of vegetarische opties.
