Discover the art of Japanese home cooking in this immersive hands-on class featuring seven traditional dishes prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Guided by your local host, you'll learn authentic cooking techniques and the stories behind each recipe while creating a beautifully balanced Japanese meal.

Once the cooking is complete, you'll enjoy your homemade feast presented in a traditional Japanese table setting. Along the way, you'll gain insight into Japanese dining etiquette, table presentation, and everyday customs, offering a deeper appreciation of the country's food culture.

To help you recreate the experience at home, the class concludes with a visit to a nearby local supermarket, where your host will introduce the ingredients used during the lesson and assist you in purchasing authentic Japanese products.

I am a certified instructor specializing in Japanese cooking classes for international visitors. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of Japanese dishes to guests in Japan and abroad. In my twenties and thirties, I lived in Italy. During those years I was invited by many Italian friends to their homes and enjoyed many delicious homemade meals, then I realized that spending time over a shared meal was a fantastic cross culture experience. After returning to Japan, I decided to teach Japanese cooking to international guests. Since 2018, I have been hosting cooking experiences on Airbnb, welcoming guests from all over the world. Being a vegetarian myself, I specialize in plant-based dishes which are not only nourishing but also leave you feeling refreshed and balanced, both physically and mentally.

Welcome and introduction (15 minutes) – Meet your host, get an overview of the experience, and learn about the dishes you'll be preparing.
Hands-on cooking session (180 minutes) – Follow a step-by-step cooking demonstration before preparing the dishes yourself with guidance from your host.
Enjoy your homemade meal (60 minutes) – Sit down to savor the dishes you've prepared, accompanied by a refreshing beverage.
Supermarket visit (60 minutes) – Explore a local supermarket with your host to discover authentic ingredients and learn tips for selecting Japanese pantry staples.

How to get there:

Take the Tobu Skytree Line to Koshigaya Station.
Exit through the East Exit.
At the rotary, turn left and walk past the Chinese fast-food restaurant and the au mobile shop.
Cross the road and turn left. Continue straight for one block until you see Toyota Rent a Car.
Turn right just before Toyota Rent a Car and continue along the narrow street.
Pass the elementary school on your left and keep walking straight, even where the road bends.
When you reach a wider street, turn right.
Continue past the parking lot and you will see Cafe803 on your right.
