課程介紹

Khmisa and Kawtar, two Moroccan women passionate about cooking, welcome you to Marrakech for a meal at Khmisa's place in the heart of the Medina.

Khmisa, a chef for 25 years now, specialised in Morrocan cuisine and pastry, and has worked for renowned hotel establishments in Rabat and Marrakech. Kawtar graduated with a university degree in hospitality and tourism, and will also assist you during your cooking class and help translate for Chef Khmisa.

The cooking class will be at Chef Khmisa's place, a traditional Moroccan house in the heart of the medina. The house is located in the medina near the central square of Jemaa el fna. You will be walking through the souk to buy the fresh groceries in the middle the market stalls filled with spices and local traditions.

This is a private course, so you can come individually or with a group. The cooking course starts at 10:00 am and ends at lunchtime.

Monday to Sunday

Morning Session

10:00 am: Meeting and introduction before starting our shopping the fresh products in the local market.
10:30 am: Arrive at Khmisa's house, enjoy a welcome drink, and learn how to make Moroccan mint tea
11:00 am: Cooking class with Chef Khmisa and Chef Kawtar.
1:00 pm: Enjoy your cooking over lunch.
2:00 pm: End of the cooking class.

Afternoon Session

2:00 pm: Meeting and introduction before starting our shopping the fresh products in the local market.
3:00 pm: Arrive at Khmisa's house, enjoy a welcome drink, and learn how to make Moroccan mint tea
3:15 pm: Cooking class with Chef Khmisa and Chef Kawtar.

"Great lesson and meal!"

We really enjoyed our cooking class, we had a fun group to cook with and the explanations during cooking were interesting and helpful - to cap it all off, the meal we got to share together at the end was delicious!

Besides the amazing food we prepared together with a group of people coming from three different countries, the hospitality and heartiness of our hosts - who invited us inside their home for the class - were just outstanding! My husband and I joined a group of 9 other travelers and were greeted by Kawtar outside the mosque. It was our first visit to Dar El Bacha and the area had a calming presence to it just outside of the main hub we were staying at. It was an excellent group, and we learned many recipes we can now create with a greater understanding of the widely used spices in Moroccan cooking. Khmisa was so welcoming when we arrived at the Riad, and the warmth never ended throughout the day. Thank you!

"Absolutely Fantastic"

What a fantastic few hours, cooking food that totally changed what I thought a tangine was! Khmisa & Katie were both so friendly and it was not only a great learning experience, it was such a good laugh too. Felt totally welcomed in their home and by the end of the 3 hours, they felt like family! It was possibly the best bit of our weekend away.
