Bringing Bali Home: A Hands-On Balinese Cooking Class
My daughter-in-law and I attended a cooking class at RajaBali and it was the most rewarding 2.5 hours of our trip.
We were in the first class of the day, and because it was just the two of us, it felt like a private masterclass. We each prepared a different recipe from start to finish, with the opportunity to enjoy the delicious results for lunch afterwards.
The experience was seamless from beginning to end. We were picked up from our hotel in Nusa Dua and driven back after lunch. It’s a fantastic activity for cooks of all skill levels. Chef Endra and his assistant, Ketut, were always nearby to offer guidance when needed, while encouraging us to do the cooking ourselves.
Before we began, we toured the herb and spice garden, where we were introduced to the fresh ingredients we would be using. It gave us a wonderful appreciation for the flavours and traditions behind Balinese cuisine.
The best part is that the experience didn’t end when we left Bali. Since returning home, I’ve made two of the recipes, and both were a huge success with family and friends.
I highly recommend RajaBali Balinese Cooking to anyone who wants to take a little piece of Bali home with them. It was a memorable, hands-on experience that I’ll treasure for years to come.
