Highly Recommend This Class!
I cannot recommend this class enough. Chef Tung provides excellent instruction on cooking all of the dishes and really helpful kitchen tips along the way. Beyond cooking these dishes I picked up a few general tips I'll be taking home with me too. I learned how to make papaya salad, fresh spring rolls, bahn xeo, and salted egg coffee. The Kim's really welcome you into their home as well and beyond cooking were a pleasure to get to know as people too. When the class ended they even sent me home with the leftovers packaged up and sent me a variety of recipes, not just the ones we cooked, so I can try to make more at home. You can tell they really care about providing a great experience to their guests and I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

We had the BEST time with the Kim at Kim's Kitchen!
It was absolutely fantastic and a definite highlight of our trip!
Our instructor, Tung, was incredibly friendly, passionate, easy to converse with and knowledgeable about Vietnamese food and culture. The class began after being picked up from our hotel with a visit to a nearby local market, where he shared insights into Vietnamese market culture and introduced us to unique local fruits and vegetables - many of which we then used in the cooking itself which added so much depth to the experience.
We cooked fried spring rolls, bánh xèo and a banana blossom salad which we were able to choose from a shortlist menu of popular Vietnamese favourites at request. The instructions were simple, clear, and easy to follow, and the homely atmosphere made everything feel genuinely achievable to recreate in our own kitchen at home.
Although the class says 3-4 hours, we ended up staying longer, sharing the meal together along with some of Tung's home-brewed wines and a salted coffee, which made the experience feel even more personal and special. We were lucky enough to have a two person class, but it's clear they keep class sizes small anyway to maintain that personal, tailored experience - and it's absolutely worth it.
The class was incredible value and truly a must-do when visiting Hanoi. If we're ever back in Vietnam, we'll absolutely be back for another class. Highly, highly recommended!!

Fun and Wonderful Cooking Experience
Today in Kim's cooking class, we learned how to make pho, nem, banh xeo, and bun cha. The teacher is young but very enthusiastic, and carefully taught us the authentic Vietnamese flavors. The salted coffee was also delicious. It was a very fun and wonderful experience.

Fantastic cooking class with Tung.
We explored the market, cooked a variety of dishes, and had a great meal followed by homemade egg coffee. Highly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Hanoi!
