What to Expect
Want to learn the secrets to cooking fresh and flavorful Balinese cuisine? Better yet, want to learn inside a beautiful, traditional and serene family home? Then join us for a full immersion into Balinese cooking and culture!
We'll start by visiting a local market, where you will shop and be introduced to the fresh herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables used for your cooking class.
Once home, you’ll be greeted by Dewa with a cup of coffee, tea or mineral water and his famous Pisang Goreng (freshly-made crispy banana fritters) to set off your taste buds.
You’ll then learn how to prepare an authentic Balinese 3-course menu, including an appetizer, main dishes, and dessert. When we cook together, we will show you how to recreate these dishes back at home for your family and friends. We’ll even teach you how to make serving dishes and decorations out of banana leaves for a true Balinese feast.
The cooking experience will end on a relaxed note, with everyone gathering together to enjoy their self-prepared meals. You'll leave our home as a true Balinese chef!
Our staff are fluent in English and love to meet new people. We hope you enjoy your time with us and learn new things, not only about our wonderful Balinese cuisine, but also about our everyday lifestyle, families, home shrines, and culture.
As a small souvenir to remember us by, everyone in the class will receive an illustrated instruction booklet with a menu, recipes, cooking tips, and plenty of space for personal notes.

- Jukut Jepang Mekuah (chayote, red bean soup, crispy shallot)
Main Course
- Be Siap Mebase Kalas (braised leg of chicken in turmeric coconut sauce)
- Sate Lilit Ayam (minced chicken, grated coconut, kaffir lime)
- Jukut Pakis (fern tip and green bean salad, grated coconut garlic chili dressing)
- Sambal Ulek(tomato and chili sambal)
- Nasi Sela (sweet potato rice)
Dessert
- Dadar Gulung (Balinese crepe, palm sugar, grated coconut)

- Unlimited freshly-brewed coffee or tea, and mineral water
Schedule
- 8:00 am: Pick-up service in Ubud area
- 8:30 am: Local market tour
- 9:30 am: Head to our home and be greeted with coffee, tea and Pisang Goreng
- 10:00 am: Learn about the Balinese lifestyle; our families, home shrines and culture
- 11:00 am: Start preparing and cooking a true Balinese gourmet meal
- 1:30 pm: Observe a traditional offering ceremony in the family shrines
- 2:30 pm: Enjoy eating your homemade Balinese feast
- 3:30 pm: End of our culinary journey

Pickup Option
We offer round-trip hotel transfer to the Ubud center area. Pickup time will be at 7.45 am to 8.00 am.
If you stay outside Ubud center area, pick up service on request, extra fees will apply base on your hotel address.
