Cooking Class with Aunty Su

About

Mrs. Su is a nurturing lady boss who has welcomed travellers at her guesthouse for years. A Mandalay native and a true storyteller, she brings to life tales of the city as she offers cooking classes to guests.

Having witnessed the boom in tourism in Myanmar, there is no one better to answer your questions. The entire family’s enthusiasm about Mandalay, and especially its food though countless personal stories and anecdotes is nothing short of fascinating.

Your guide will bring you to Mama Guesthouse, a small boutique guesthouse run by Mrs. Su to help cleaning vegetables, chopping the ingredients, frying or boiling it, adding the right herbs and mixing the right ingredients.

The class will end with a very tasty lunch prepared by yourself. All the ingredients, kitchen wares and apron will be provided by Mama Guesthouse and all you will need is to join this special cooking class to learn a bit of delicious cooking.

Schedule

• 10:30 am: pick up from the hotel 
• 11:00 am: Introduction and begin the class
• 12:30 pm: tasting and enjoy your lunch 
• 1:00 pm: End of cooking class an transfer back to the hotel
