Start your culinary journey at Mae Somchit Kata Fresh Market, where you will explore a lively traditional market filled with fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, aromatic herbs, spices, and other ingredients essential to Thai cuisine. Walking through the market with your instructor is a truly eye-opening experience and a great introduction to Thai food culture.

After the market visit, the experience continues with a hands-on cooking class where you will learn to prepare authentic Thai dishes step by step. One of the highlights is making curry paste from scratch using fresh herbs and spices with a traditional mortar and pestle. You will also learn about the preparation of coconut milk and how it is used in many Thai recipes.

During the class, you will spend about 3.5 hours cooking four delicious Thai dishes. Each dish is cooked individually so you can enjoy it while it’s still hot and fresh. What a great and fun experience this was!

We had pad thai, tom yum and mango sticky rice for our dessert, we came in a large group and it was fun and learnt a few things about some of the ingredients. Chel was very easy to communicate with prior to our booking and ensured she noted all of our dietary needs. Thank you to Chel and the team . big love from all the way from Australia

Amazing Group Thai Cooking Experience – Fun, Delicious, and Memorable!

We came here in a group of 10, Chel was so funny and so nice, we got to learn the process of our dishes and made the experience fun and involving from all of us, the food was absolutely amazing! We had pad thai, tom yum, papaya salad and to finish mango sticky rice for dessert!. Was such a good experience. I definitely recommend this place and supporting local business is always a plus to the whole experience ! THANK YOU CHEL

Immersive and Fun Thai Cooking Experience!

Highly recommended, especially for those staying in Karon or Kata. The course includes pick-up and drop-off, and they picked us up from the hotel on time to go to the local market. We learned about so many Thai spices - I loved browsing the market! Then we went to the kitchen classroom, which was clean and beautiful, located in the hotel lobby on a small hill - great scenery and fresh air. The course structure was very reasonable. Even someone like me who doesn't usually cook could fully enjoy the fun of cooking. Small class sizes meant everyone received hands-on guidance. Most importantly, the instructor, Miss Chel, was incredibly nice and even bought us drinks during breaks. Remember to come to class on an empty stomach, because you'll be eating a lot!
