Descrizione

This short class will show you how to make Vietnamese food in a romantic setting away from the crowd and the noise. After your long day of adventures and before you head out to the night street, this warm meal in our romantic, peaceful setting might just be the exact thing you are missing.

This cooking experience brings you and other visitors together to make a full family meal with our experienced chef.
You will be transported near our island and take short row boat ride to our class, nestled in the Bay Mau forest where you can see the ducks swimming and the chickens roosting. You will learn about Vietnamese vegetables with a trip to our humble garden.
Together, the chef and you will make 4 dishes together. Afterward, you will enjoy this wholesome dinner underneath the romantic lanterns while watching the sun setting over the Bay Mau water coconut forest.

This family-friendly class is suitable for all cooking levels.

My father was lovingly called Uncle Thai by everyone he knows. He was one of the legends who helped built Hoi An to be the tourism capital of Vietnam as it is known today. From when he first arrived to Hoi An in 1995, to the day he bid farewell to this beautiful town in Spring 2015, his many, seemingly “eccentric” ideas, have become successful businesses that, in turn, create revolutions in the cooking, drinking, and touring industries in Hoi An. Uncle Thai’s love for food came from an unlikely place. A proud graduate of University of Chicago’s famed Booth School of Business, as well as the North American champion in windsurfing in the 80’s, many of his friends thought he would either climb the ranks at Wall Street or, open his own surf shop in Hawaii. Yet, after years of living in France and the U.S., Uncle Thai came back to Vietnam, and settled in Hoi An, to live near the calm ocean and use his business talent to grow this town. One of his creations is our peaceful, meaningful and reputable cooking class.

Programma

Evening Session

3:30 pm: Pickup at your hotel and boarding the shuttle to Thuan Tinh Island
4:15 pm: Taking a rowboat trip through water coconut trees
4:40 pm: Learning about herbs and vegetables through in-class presentation
5:00 pm: Cooking 4 local dishes
6:00 pm: Eating the family meal together in our lounge area, underneath the lanterns while watching the sunset.
7:00 pm: Return back to your hotel, or the Ancient Quarter

Pickup time may vary depending on the distance from the cooking premises. From 3:15pm to 3:45pm prior to the start of class.

Excellent

I would highly recommend this cooking course. We started with shopping at the market, coconut boat ride then cooked 3 wonderful dishes which were delicious. The hosts were so friendly and explained everything simply. We had a wonderful time.

Vietnamese Cooking is an art!

We arrived around 5pm, and kick started the cooking as some of the cutting was prepared. We made 4 dishes, learned about the common herbs in vietnamese cooking. We learned enough to continue developing the art

Delightful and super tasty

Our host was super nice, and talkative. We learned a lot about how to cook Vietnamese food! Also these were honestly the best spring rolls we had so far after 1 month of traveling. Especially the cabbage rolls were delicious :)

Great!

We had a private cooking class to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our instructor was extremely sweet and the food was really good! I loved what the instructor had lined up and at the end, we had an awesome feast. Most of the cooking classes that this school/company offers are shopping for ingredients and then doing the cooking class. However, we only signed up for the cooking class since we didn't have time to do the shopping. We still enjoyed the class very much and would do it again. Highly recommend. We also didn't have a car so we had the option to get picked up and dropped off at no additional cost.
