In this class, we’ll make Temari sushi, a perfect dish for parties! Temari sushi is simple enough for anyone to make, yet it’s beautiful, elegant, and delicious—sure to impress friends, family, and guests alike. Join me to learn this delightful sushi style and add a stunning dish to your party recipe collection!

We’ll also make dashi, the foundational soup stock of Japanese cuisine, from scratch using kelp and katsuobushi (bonito flakes). This flavorful broth will be used to create a traditional Japanese clear soup.

In addition to Temari sushi, we’ll prepare two side dishes and one dessert of your choice, all easy to make and full of Japanese flavors.

After cooking, it’s time to enjoy your creations! While we eat, let’s chat about Nagoya, popular tourist spots in Japan, and stories from your home country and beyond!

• Temari sushi

It is a ball-shaped sushi named after the traditional Japanese thread ball toy, temari. With a few simple techniques, you can easily create cute and delicious temari sushi, beautifully arranged with a variety of ingredients. It’s a perfect dish for entertaining guests and ideal for parties!

• Homemade Dashi for Japanese Clear Soup

You’ll begin by learning how to make dashi soup stock from scratch.

• Side Dish

Pickled cucumber and wakame seaweed (Kyuri to Wakame no Sunomono).

•  Dessert

Tofu pudding with matcha powder.
