Taman Dukuh Bali Farm Cooking School

It was one of the best things we did in Bali. The team was professional, fun, the event extremely well organized and the food we made was amazing and unforgettable in the end! It is really, really worth it!

This was a great opportunity to learn about local plants and food culture, while enjoying local cuisine and experiencing the fun of cooking local dishes. I had a great time and truly enjoyed the whole tour.

The class started with being picked up in Ubud and taken on the short trip past the rice terraces to the permaculture farm. We then picked vegetables from the garden and settled in to cook our dishes and then enjoyed eating them together. Our instructor Witika was awesome and explained each ingredient and what it brought to the dishes very well. Highly recommended!

Amazing settings- away from the buzz of Ubud

this course was more then expected. Good driver took us up from Ubud to the location in the forest/djungel. The facility was really well and had everything you needed to make a delicious dinner. Staff was so polite and nice and supporting and knowledge and good to explain the ingrediencies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our half day cooking class at Taman Dukuh Bali Farm Cooking School. They even collected us from our hotel and returned us there at the end of the day! Our host was charming, knowledgeable and spoke the best English of anyone we've met on our holiday so far! We loved the setting (peaceful and in the jungle) and being able to learn about all of the crops that the farm grew as we gathered the ingredients to be able to make our meal. The format was relaxed and really enjoyable with plenty of time to enjoy a welcome drink and to chat to the other guests on the course. We were able to participate in a wide variety of activities including chopping ingredients, making a spice paste (the traditional way in a pestle and mortar) and cooking all of the dishes together under the expert guidance of our host. The farm provided us with a hard copy of all of the dishes we made as well as a highlights video too we can continue to cherish our memories of the day. What a thoroughly enjoyable way to make and eat authentic and delicious Balinese food and a great value-for-money experience. Without doubt, one of the absolute highlights of our holiday!

The class was first class From on time pickup at the meet-up point to the host showing us the gardens and picking our own veggies to explaining every detail and the easiness of cooking everything. The experience surpassed my expectations. The way the day was put together was seamless and enjoyable. The girls on the frontline explained the processes very well and the operation manager explained the history and background to the event in a very friendly manner. It was a wonderful evening in the Balinese countryside, enjoying a wide variety of culinary delights straight from the fields. The instruction was excellent, informative, and easy to understand, even though our English isn't very good. The course was very well prepared, and the food was delicious. We also had the opportunity to chat with other cooking class participants, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and highly recommend it.

We learned spices in Indonesia, how they look like in the farm, how were they planted and picked up. We were able to cook the complex and delicious food thankfully with the help of the staff. The process was so smooth, even me as a cooking beginner I could make 7 dishes course. This experience is definitely beyond expectation.

From start to finish, I loved every second of this experience. The whole thing was incredibly well-organized, and I was amazed at how smoothly everything ran. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that they had a dedicated vegetarian menu option for me. Every dish was so delicious that I’m already thinking about coming back for more! Depi was a great guide & head chef. I was a solo vegan at the cooking class with 2 couples and she assisted me when it was a 2 person job😊 The market tour was lovely, the farm is beautiful, and the cooking class was great, so much food! 🥰 I'm looking forward to preparing them for friends and family in the future. I also love that they give you the recipe book for free, along with their YouTube channel to share. I would highly recommend!

The place for the cooking class is very nice, the class was very well organized, the staff was very friendly and we cooked every dishes we ate. It was a bit cooler than in Ubud which was nice and in the quiet atmosphere.

This place is amazing. The farm is beautiful and well maintained, in the middle of the jungle. Staff is super nice and organized. Teachers speak good English and all instructions are clear. You cook a lot of dishes,there is split for regular meat eaters and vegetarians. Food is yummy and the ambience is good. The only thing I would correct is to use different proteins in a regular menu. We have chicken 3 times and would be nice to cook at least one of these dishes with fish or prawn. Overall great experience

We really enjoyed the class. The teachers are so nice and helpful. I do not have any experience with cooking at all, but even for me it was doable and I enjoyed it. The garden and kitchen are beautiful

Great communication from the very start. We ended up having to change our date by a ay and it wasn't not a problem at all. Pickup was easy and simple too. We started good on time, to go to the local market. The guid let us see a lot and also explained about the traditional houses. After that we went to the farm we first got a morning tea. De cook let me see the farm and told a lot about it. We picked our vegetables and then started to cook.he showed me hoe to do it and also helped a lot. The food was delicious. It was a wel spend day.

Not done many cooking classes, but I can’t think of how any class would be able to top this! The whole day was incredible. I booked this class as it used ingredients from the farm where the class is held, whereas others take you on a trip to the market. It was amazing to go and pick your own ingredients and learn how they are all grown and prepared on a small scale organic farm. The setting was beautiful, away from the hustle and bustle and in a really peaceful location. The hosts and chefs themselves were amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly and funny! It made the whole day a real pleasure. Finally the food, wow. So nice to be able to eat your own food, and it was better than any Indonesian restaurant I have been to so far on my travels. Would 100% recommend this if you are wanting to experience Bali through its food

We booked the cooking class early in the morning and startet with a fantastic tour around the local market. Afterwards we went to the beautiful farm where we selected our vegetables and startet cooking. The staff was extremely friendly and the hygiene was perfect. Also the local indunesioan dishes were delicious. They were super responsive to allergies and requests and the course was also perfectly tailored to vegans. A great experience and we would book it again at any time and can definitely recommend it!

Beautiful and tranquil farm growing all sorts of things. Quiet area in nature. The cooking class was well organized and we cooked many dishes. They took care of the tedious parts of cooking so we were able to do it quickly and enjoy ourselves. The staff are so kind and friendly. We had a really wonderful day here. Superb experience. Pick up instructions clear, transfer on time. Interesting start picking some ingredients, then the actual cooking, food tasted great and cost of drinks very reasonable. But what really made our day was the staff, humorous, informative and made the whole experience great fun. Price was also very reasonable. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Wow. This is the first cooking class I’ve taken in a different country and it’s going to be hard, if ever, to top this experience. The food was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had, fresh, bright, balanced, multi-layered in its taste they really do a fantastic job taking you through each component of the dish and guiding you along to create such a special food experience! IM STILL DREAMING ABOUT THAT SATAY. It’s incredible value and I would recommend this experience for everyone!

It was a wonderful day. The best part for me was picking our own ingredients from the land and filling our basket with the absolutely freshest ingredients. Then to cook and eat them. It doesn't get any fresher. The food tasted wonderful and nourishing. I highly recommend this cooking class.

This was the best day on our Bali trip so far. We had the best time with the most amazing food. The guys were so nice as well. We loved it!

The class was amazing. We had our prompt hotel pickup and a lovely 40 min drive from ubud to a little further up north. it was very scenic. we met of tutor at the market and he took us round and showed us new fruit and veg and bought us some to try. he explained about the market and peoples way of lives. when we arrived at the farm we had a wonderful tour where we picked out own veg for cooking. the cooking class was very good - we were the only ones there so had two tutors to ourselves, however i did ask if theres more people does he teach everyone, but he said each couple or person gets one tutor between them. we made many delicious dishes and had time inbetween some of them to taste them. we also got to take them home! overall a really great experience - i would 100% recomend! make sure you tip the driver on the way back!

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the class (especially coming from me, someone who doesn't like cooking). What I really liked the most was the farm tour and getting to pluck the vegetables we were going to use in our dishes. We also got to eat a durian that happened to drop during our class. It is a very lovely place and everyone was so helpful and nice :)

The course is incredibly well organized and simple to follow. The instructor is competent, funny and speaks English very well.

The care the chefs gave us was great. They taught not just the recipie but more efficient ways to cook - such as knife handling, and techniques for the mortar and pestel. I also really appreciated their comments on western substitutions for plants and flavours - it can be difficult to duplicate food without that guidance!

Beego was excellent from beginning to end. He walked me around the garden and explained to me in details the organic produce in their farm. He had me picked my own veggies to put in my basket and went through all the recipes and showed me how to do everything. Except, we did only 6 dishes instead of 7. We missed doing the Black Rice Pudding. Also, class is suppose to start at 12:15 but, I was picked up at 12:00 noon and it took about 45mins to get their facility. So, we started passed 1pm which is fine. The driver was so very pleasant and the rest of the staff were nice and accomodating also. Facility is clean and organized. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and certainly will recommend it to family and friends. Thank you😊

We booked a private class and Mr. Hery was the perfect guide. Showed us around the local market, very informative and took a bunch of awesome photographs. Finally, the cooking and farm experience was top notch. It was fun learning to cook and make an authentic meal for ourselves. Heartily recommend this to anyone looking for a local experience.

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Bali. We cooked tasty vegetarian food with fresh ingredients. The staff was very friendly, fun and helpful.

Our cooking instructor Viggo provided clear easy-to-follow instructions. He supervised and supported us throughout to ensure that we followed instructions accurately and used the correct food preparation techniques. His assistants provided some of the advance prep work and the clean up, which expedited the process and allowed us to have enough time to prepare all 7 dishes. The staff were very well organized. Viggo advised that the foods that we prepared were authentic Balinese recipes which he had learned how to cook from his mother. We were provided with a book of the recipes which included detailed instructions to take home with us. We had the opportunity to eat what we made. Of the dishes that we prepared, I particularly enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Tempe, the Opor Ayam (Balinese Chicken Curry) and the Bubur Injin (Black Rice Pudding). The atmosphere at the farm was pleasant as we cooked under a roof but open to the air with views of the farm and calming Balinese music playing softly in the background. Our experience included a tour of the farm and descriptions of the crops including information regarding medicinal treatments that various foods and herbs can be used to treat. I felt happy to support an organic farming endeavor that is using eco-friendly farming techniques. The only drawback for me was that the drive to get there was long.

This class was fantastic! We picked our own produce fresh from the garden and turned it into some delicious meals. There were heaps of dishes and I learned some great new skills. Would highly recommended to anyone visiting Ubud.

There are no words. It was fantastic and well organised from beginning to end. We ran on time, we ate like kings, we laughed, and our instructor Darren was knowledgeable and informative. It was a really beautiful place to cook. The guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. They made it very easy for us by doing some prep for us.

The instructor (Made) was very patient in answering all of our questions. The overall experience was enriching and fun. Made even taught us to cook dishes outside of the set recipes so we can get the most out of this cooking class. (We made 12 dishes in total and had to pack takeaway) You get to pick your own ingredients from the organic farm. The kitchen lady (Wayan) was extremely helpful and made our cooking experience easy. The cooking farm promotes plastic free by providing bamboo straws, banana leaves wrapping and paper wrapping.

I've done tons of cooking classes all over the world, and this one was extremely well done. Professional instructors taught me how to make 7 authentic Balinese recipes, which was awesome since I always need more recipe content for my website. I wrote an in-depth review https://cookingtoentertain.com/bali-farm-cooking-class/ with tons of pictures. I loved the fact that almost everything was farm to table, so as we picked herbs and spices on the farm the guide told us exactly how they would be used when we started to cook. I found the English level of the instructors to be sufficient, and especially loved the fact that they offered pick up and drop off service. If I was staying in Ubud longer I would have loved to do their more advanced class since some of those dishes look good as well.

It was a spontanous idea. I went there alone and meet nice people. I liked walking over the market snd trying different food. The cooking part was interesting and one of the chefs helped me as i didnt have a partner. The food was delicious though i got very sick aftet because we used so much oil and i am just not used to that. But otherwise an interesting experience.

Every things was great. Staff, cook master, dishes... Great day to a very nice place.

This was an excellent cooking class situated on a beautiful property just outside of Ubud. The staff were super friendly and informative and the food was abundant and delicious! Would highly recommend to anyone interested in learning about traditional Balinese cooking!

I can't praise this experience enough. Everyone from the drivers to the guides, teachers and support staff were kind, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and had the patient of saints. We were part of two combined groups of very mixed ages and abilities, but they took it all in their stride. No-one was left behind, everyone was given support and attention during the cooks so we all ended up with some beautiful dishes to enjoy. A really relaxed, enjoyable and informative - not to mention delicious! - experience. Thank you so much!

Great guide venue and staff Overall a great experience

Everything was perfect!

One of the best things we've done in Bali! Classes are run by passionate people, smiling and willing to answer all your questions. It's also organised by the local community, helping local people to find a job that they can enjoy. The food we've cooked was delicious! Picking up and trying fresh ingredients on the market and on the farm was both fun and educational. We went with the vegan option, which was basically the same as the vegetarian one - we just didn't use eggs in our recipes. We also got a small booklet with all the recipes we've cooked plus a few more. The groups aren't too big, and the overall organisation is very smooth - they definitely know what they're doing. You also get a chance to meet (and cook with) people from around the world, which is also a great plus. If you have any doubt whether you should opt for it - have no more. You won't regret any minute or penny spent on it.

The class was very well organised and run by Mate and Rudy the teachers. All dishes were delicious and we all had clear instructions while we made each dish, and assistance along the way at any time. My husband and I really enjoyed all the dishes, and plan on making these now we are back home. In fact, just today I googled to check if we could buy tempeh here......great news, we can! So that and Gado Gado are at the top of the list on my cooking new dishes this weekend! It was an absolute pleasure to meet all staff at Pemulan Farm Cooking School, and would highly recommed it to anyone who is thinking of doing a cooking class while in Bali. We really enjoyed this class! Had a market tour where they gave us some fruits and local snacks, then to the farm. The location is amazing and so beautiful! We had a garden tour and hand picked ingredients for our cooking. The class itself was completely hands on. We worked in pairs and had one teacher between two pairs so lots of attention and personal help. The final food outcome was also delicious and we were given a hand book with the recipes to take away. The people running it were friendly, kind and funny. All in all our favourite thing we did in Ubud!

The cooking class was one of the best ones I’ve ever joined. They put so much love and detail into it, it’s amazing. The driver picked us up at 7:45am, and we drove to a authentic traditional market outside of Ubud, where there were no tourists. We were able to try so many different fruit, sweets, food, etc. for free- it was delicious and lots of fun! Our guide Rudi’s English is impressive, and it’s very easy to follow his explanations and instructions. After the market, we headed to the farm... just get ready to be stunned! The farm is beautiful.. an organic oasis. We loved it! So peaceful, quiet and clean. You are able to pick your own vegetables from the garden.. how amazing is that? What an experience. The many dishes that you cook (2 starters, 3 main dishes) were all easy to cook with the help of the kind staff and the great instructions. Rudi even took the time to show me how to cut the professional way- so cool! Every single dish was absolutely heavenly- especially the dessert that they make for you. It was really cool to get to sample some exotic fruit and street food during the market tour. I loved picking my own vegetables and getting to see how various edible plants grow, like cocoa, pineapple, and tapioca. The outdoor cooking area is surrounded by lush greenery. I really appreciated the farm being organic and having the vegetarian option. It was such a great time and I will definitely be making these recipes again!

The tour around the farm and picking the ingredients for our cooking was very educational and makes me appreciate the food we eat as it takes so many years to grow the plants and fruits. I had so much fun learning to cook Balinese food and definitely will bring back home this skill.

The market tour and cooking class made for the best experience my wife and I have had during our ten-day stay in Bali. The Permulan Bali farm area is enchanting and our Balinese instructor/guide was excellent. The finished food was unbelievably tasty - I just can't believe it was me who cooked it! It's a great set up and I would recommend it highly too others.

Die Farm ist eigentlich keine Farm sondern einfach eine Kochschule mit Garten. Allerdings ist alles total schön angelegt und gepflegt. Die Kochlehrer waren sehr nett und lustig. Einziger Mangel war, dass die meisten Mahlzeiten zu stark nach Lime geschmeckt haben...

We really enjoyed the visit to the local market, tour around the organic farm and the hands on cooking experience. The staff we all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. There was a great range of dishes that we cooked and we had lovely company with couples from Portugal and America. Our guide and cooking teacher, Derren had a great sense of humour and gave excellent clear instructions while we were cooking. I would highly recommend this particular cooking experience as it involves both the market tour and veggie garden tour.

Das war für mich der beste Tag meiner Bali-Reise. Nach der Buchung wurde ich sofort angeschrieben, um die Abholung zu organisieren. Diese klappte super und sehr pünktlich und wir fuhren von Ubud eine Dreiviertelstunde zur Farm. Dort angekommen bekamen wir einen Rundgang und ernteten gleichzeitig einige Zutaten für unsere Kochgänge. Immer in Zweierteams wurden dann erst zwei Vorspeisen, dann drei Hauptgerichte und ein Dessert zubereitet. Alles war super lecker, die Stimmung war gut und die Kochlehrer waren toll. Ich hätte den Kurs nochmal gebucht, wenn ich mehr Zeit gehabt hätte. Zum Glück bekamen wir ein kleines Rezeptheft, damit wir alles nachkochen können. 😊👍🏼

Started with a tour of their local market where we sampled fruits and sweets. Then headed to the farm and walked around the garden picking items for our meals. The rest of the day was spent cooking and eating delicious Balinese food. Such a great day, one of the best during my time in Bali.

We were a group of five with two vegetarians and they were incredibly accommodating! Everyone was happy with how their food turned out and the setting was serene.

This cooking class was fantastic! You had the chance to wander round their beautiful organic farm and see all the ingredients growing as well as picking your own food for cooking! You got the opportunity to cook lots of dishes and I loved every minute!

The course was well structured and everything was taken care of. We got picked up on time and drove to the organic farm and was greeted by our instructors who showed us around and showed us how to cook some traditional courses.

We have really enjoyed the afternoon on the organic farm. The cooking sections were much fun and to finally taste the dishes made this day trip complete! We just loved everything about it - just a perfect combination with the market tour, tour of the organic farm and then the cooking class. Our guide Derren was professional, knowledgeable and yet fun. Our food preferences were well met, eg vegetarian etc. There was also plenty of food to eat/share, plus we were able to take home the leftovers, which were just as delicious that night!

I really enjoyed the cooking class & farm tour. The staff was very patient and tried to make the whole experience as smooth and easy as possible for us. I asked if it was possible to veganize the dishes and that wasn't a problem at all. I will definitely experiment with some dishes at home!

This was such an amazing experience! To walk through the garden to learn about and pick the ingredients were we’re going to cook with. The cooking experience was great, with really fun and helpful staff. The meals were fairly easy to prepare and delicious to eat. Was great to get the recipe book to take home - I have already recreated the meal and it turned out amazing!!

It was very relaxing moment to spend a time in organic farm, picking up some vegetables. It was a large cooking studio. Many people attend the class, but I was able to make everything by myself. Mostly two person was one team, but I did it alone so it was little hard but very good experience. The instructor speaks English very well, and it was easy to follow. We ended up having dishes we made by ourseves and it was also great time to talk with people from all over the word.

I went with the morning market tour and cooking class, definitely the right choice. The market tour was great, getting to see the locals in their element and try new exotic fruits from the island - snake fruit (or salak locally) is my new fav! Then off to their home farm where you get to pick your own fresh produce right from the source. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and had fun slipping a couple of pranks on us unassuming foreigners 😂 we were then walked through cooking six different indo meals, getting to stop in between courses to enjoy our work. The location was beautiful, the food so fresh and tasty, and the guides were lovely and so patient. Would highly recommend this class!!

This class is so much fun, we head a great time. Amazing location in the jungle, so you get to stay and cook in the nature, which is really cool and relaxing. Stuff is great and really funny. I defenetly recommend :)

From the begging till the end, everything went so smoothly: communication before the class, pick up, market, farm and cooking. They were well organized and professional, but very relaxed and funny at the same time. Good balance of time for activities and just relaxing, socialising and enjoying. What an experience! From visiting the local markets and seeing all the fresh fruits and vegetables to actually being on the farm and hand picking the ingredients we then used to cook with. Everything about this day was well executed and organised. Had so much fun meeting new people from around the world and coming together to eat delicious food we had cooked. Definitely will be recommending this cooking class to anyone visiting Ubud - it's a must!

Lovely to have a tour of the farm and pick our own ingredients. The teacher was really helpful, explaining what we needed to do as well as more about Balinese food and cooking customs. It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy our creations in a pretty setting too. Great pick up and drop off service too. Fantastic value for money!

This cooking class was such a fun experience. Starting at the market we got to taste all the local sweets and fruits -watch out, dont eat to much other wise you are to stuffed for all the delicious food that will come after- Being in a group with 5 we had plenty of personal contact with our kind guide. The organic farm was a dream, and the cooking place so nicely situated within the farm. It was great to pick your own veggies, the meal we made were so tasty and the staff so kind. I can recommend this day out to everyone!

Great cooking class, the tour of the market and farm was a lot of fun and very interesting. We got to make a good variety of interesting and very tasty Balinese dishes. We had so much food that we even got to take some home! Derek, our guide was excellent.

Such a laidback, fun and friendly vibe. Loved the fact it wasn’t JUST a cooking class. The whole experience of being less through the local market to then walk us through a local farm to harvest our own ingredients really set this cooking class apart from others. So educational and inspiring.

My expectations to this class was very high, lucky I choose the best place to do it! It was amazing! The farm is very nice, comfortable and all the products grows up there! We began the day with going to the market, where we tasted a lot of fruit. Many of the fruit we tasted was totally new to me and they told us about it too, so it was very interesting. After that we got to see their farm, and pick ingredients that we would cook later. They also told us some information about the things they farmed. It was a beautiful farm! The cooking class was very fun! They told us and helped us cook the food. They had a really happy mood, and thats a plus! The cost is very good for everything you get. It includes all of the above and also transport. So the money is really worth it. A really fun experience, I would definitely do it again!

The organic farm is a peaceful heaven in the mountains, picking our greens for the dishes ourselves was beautiful. Our hosts shared their deep knowledge about the food culture in Bali, teaching us many words and tricks. Really lovely quaint farm decently out of the way of Ubud to avoid the main tourist traps. All the staff were incredibly kind people and the food was so delicious, would highly recommend if wanting to do a cooking class in Bali.

Being a chef, I was concerned that I wasn’t going to be engaged or challenged enough, but the whole day was brilliant, walking around the farm was informative, a chilled out day, with amazing hosts who were awesome to spend the afternoon with while coaching everybody through the various dishes. 5* and I would give a massive 100% must do, very fond memories. cheers guys.

A variety of activities especially enjoyed picking the vegetables in the organic farm. The ingredients were all prepared orderly and some even packed nicely in banana leaves, extremely impressive! The cooking procedure was in systematically order, with 2 chefs and another 2 lovely ladies on site to clean up after us. We enjoyed the trip thoroughly.

I truly enjoyed this cooking class. I was in the afternoon class together with 3 others. The trip to the farm was about 1 hour but I did not mind because I was getting to know the other people. We prepared 6 (vegan) authentic Indonesian dishes and ate them together between each course. I learned a lot about spices and flavors. The food was quite a lot so if you are not that big of an eater you can take the remainders back to our stay. All the people at the farm were very nice, helpful and funny! I really enjoyed the entire day and I can really recommend it to others.

We were worried that this class would be more of a demonstration as we have seen so many reviews about demo type classes. Here we were on the ingredients, mashing spices, deep frying and all. The food is really good and the instructor Bee was very clear with the steps. The farm picking is fun too. The drive to the place is longer than we thought but it just means you are really outside of Ubud which was nice. It was a great day well spent. Would definitely recommend!

Great way to spend your free afternoon at Ubud. The whole activity was organized from the start until the very end. I personally love organic food, I want to promote organic and this is the best way to open other people's mind about organic food and being vegan. They picked us up from our guest house then we had a farm tour which was very relaxing and insightful. We got to learn local vegetation and cook our own dish at the farm. We all made the dishes by hand which was a self-fulfillment journey, it was not easy but it felt good when they dish tasted better than expected. Kudos to our patient and understanding instructor.

The cooking class was amazing. The people at the organic farm are very friendly. You cook a lot of traditional balinese dishes.

I absolutely loved the cooking class at the farm. They picked us up from the guesthouse and even accommodated our vegan food requests. The chilli, sweet tempeh was genuinely the BEST tempeh I have ever had! The tofu curry we made was delicious and the corn fritters were also super good. The only dish that I didn't really love was the dessert but I'm not a fan of hot rice, might of been better with some cacao? All in all, very happy that we took the course and a huge thank you to all at the farm and the wonderful chefs!

I loved this class. It's the perfect length of time, great amount of food, fantastic staff, unique experience (picking vegetables!) and delicious food. This class would be good solo or with friends. The vegan food option was really tasty and this was the more popular option on the day I attended. It was a really fun day out and one of my Bali highlights :)

The organic farm was fantastic! Our guide explained us a lot about the plants growing there and the vegetables which we had to pick for cooking. The cooking lessons were well organized, you could understand everything easily and it was delicious! I got picked up and droped off at my hotel as well. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this class!

Very much enjoyed our experience in this farm. Nice and funny, the Chef showed us how to cook step-by-step many Balinese dishes and had time to enjoy them all in a super nice organic farm. Only downside is that the farm is about 45 min (approx. depending on where you're hosted) away from Ubud by car but you got someone that picks you up so if you have plenty of time, that shouldn't be an issue. Totally recommend it.

We loved our class. We had a small group of 4 so we had all the attention. We picked our own food from the garden and the chef explained what was what. We had the vegan class wich was fantastic! We reaaaally enjoyed the hands on meals we made. So easy but realy tasty! Got a book with the recipes to take home aswell. Just awesome!

Deren was a perfect host. Very knowledgeable about the products and he even knew the names of vegetables in different languages. It was easier for us to connect. The cooking class itself was great. We learnt around 6 dishes. (We opted for vegetarian).

That was really a great experience and a good day of fun! Both market and farm tour were cool and the cooking class such as the teachers were amaizing.

Beautifully located in its own organic garden and the chef was very informative and entertaining with his presentation. A must to do while in Ubud.

Morgens wurden wir abgeholt und fuhren zum Markt. Dort Empfang uns osol der unser Betreuer war. Er führte uns über den Markt und zeigte uns allerlei Früchte die wir alle probieren durften. Er erzählte dazu viel und sprach ein sehr gutes Englisch. Nach dem Markt ging es dann weiter auf die Farm. Dort sammelten wir dann zusammen mit Osol unsere Zutaten für das Menü ein. Osol erzählte auch hier wieder sehr viel über die Pflanzen. Dann ging das Kochen endlich los. Zu zweit teilt man sich eine Kochstelle. Neben Osol stand auch Rudi lehrend zur Verfügung. Die beiden machten es echt super und so waren unsere Gerochte alle sehr lecker und gelungen. Als wir am Ende auf unseren Fahrer warteten schneideten Osol und Rudi noch ein Zuckerrohr auf das wir essen bzw. Schluzen konnten. Alles in allem war es ein sehr toller Tag für uns und wir würden ihm jeden empfehlen.

What a great way to sample an array of Balinese cooking! From start to finish the day was well organised and incredibly fun. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate and the dishes we cooked were absolutely delicious! They catered for all preferences very very well - we were following the vegan course and it was an absolute delight! We will definitely be taking the recipes home with us - I recommend this cooking class to anyone, great value for money!

We were picked up by car on time and went to the market to see all the local vegetables, tasting everything that can be tasted raw and smelling the spices. Then we went to the farm to pick a few leaves that we were going to use in the dishes. The vegetarian(vegan) and non-vegetarian were separated and we were asked if we had any food preferences/allergies. Since I didn't like Tuna, they prepared chicken pieces specially for me to use which was a nice touch. All the ingredients were prepped for us and the dishes were cleaned by them, so it really was a pleasure cooking. Looking forward to trying the recipes at home using the book they gave us!

The cooking class is really good. The dishes were real yummy & the instructor is good with a good sense of humour. I was just a bit disappointed that we did not stop at the Tegallalang Rice terrace as per the video shown by previous participants.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the firm itself. The staff were very friendly and lot of the basic peeling & portioning of the ingredients was done by their team so the instructing chef could talk to us about the ingredients nd also the Balinese style of cooking. It was terrific to sit down with the group to eat the meal at the end. Highly recommend this class.

This was exactly what I was looking for in a Bali cooking class. From the trip to the market to picking your own produce in their organic garden was fabulous. The set up for outside cooking, and dining couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this to people looking for the real experience.

Absolutely fantastic. Great staff, delicious food, the garden tour was great. An absolute must. The ride from the Ubud was slow due to traffic, but the driver was really nice. They could use a hammock to rest after the delicious food! It would be tough to find such high quality ingredients back home - but I did like how easy it would be to make the dishes again (with a little help from a blender to save time). Thanks again!

The food was lovely and easy to follow recipes. Also nice to go around be farm to harvest our own fruit and veg! Would totally recommend doing this!!

I think the cooking class was incredible. I love that it was at an organic farm in Bali, we got to pick our own produce and cook it. The guides were super informative and helpful. The food tasted amazing !! The only downfall was the car trip, it was long and the bus was extremely uncomfortable.

Got picked up from our hotel and taken to the market, which was an interesting experience. You get to taste mango and banana and some of the exotic fruit they have here in Bali. Wayan was our guide. He has such a cute sense of humour and we enjoyed his class thorougly. Vegetarian or meatarian option available and everyone cooks under a thatch roof outside. Very neat, professional and beautiful. Real good value for money.

Fantastic experience. Really learned all about the produce and how to create the exotic and complex flavours of home cooked Balinese food. Restaurant food has not tasted the same since! This was a really fun experience, very professionally delivered. Staff were fantastic. I would heartily recommend anyone to do this course.

Attended the organic Bali cooking class with my 7 year old son. We both absolutely loved it. Class is very well organised, clean equipment in natural Farm setting. Our cooking instructor was warm and friendly with fantastic local knowledge and spoke great English.

Everything was fabulous. Market experience, explanations, patient teacher, helpful amiable staff, recipe books, aprons and the food! Delicious. And plenty to take away for my tea too. I will definitely be cooking some Balinese food at home - though may cheat and use a blender instead of pestle and mortar! Brilliant experience. Inspired. The only downside - I would have liked to cook the gorgeous banana pancakes.

We enjoyed everything: from scenery, surroundings, aura of the place, staff, but also people who work there are really nice, know their skills. The menu for cooking classes was picked very good. Well spent day, recommend!

El curso era genial y nos lo hemos pasado muy bien. Sin embargo, falta un poco de organización. Vinieron a recogernos media hora más tarde que la hora prevista y hemos vuelto dos horas mas tarde al hotel. Estaría bien actualizar los horarios en la pagina web.

It was our first cooking class ever, and it was a very positive experience! Our teacher was very professional and spoke good english. We learned about the crops and got to pick them for the cooking. The dishes was very tasty and the farm was very cosy and calm. We got very inspired to cook more!

Felt like a local on this tour. You get to explore a small farmers market before being whisked away to the middle of the jungle to cook beautiful dishes. The company was very organized, the guide Made had a great personality and the day was wonderful!

It's the first time for me to participatethe cooking class overseas. We came in a group of 6 so we were allocated a separate space. Being humourous, the instructor is also able to explain the recipe and the cooking processin a clear way. The dishes we made were yummy and we had so much fun. Btw, the enviornment of the cooking school is nice as well. :)

It was a really nice experience. Staff was professional with good teaching technics. The receipts were tasty. The tour of the organic farm to pick your vegetables is the real bonus comparing with the other classes. An improvement point for the staff could be to show more Smiles on their face but I Definetly recommand.

The food was realy good! the farm was beautiful and it was interesting to see how the indonesian spices and vegetables grow. And what we cooked came from the land. Except for the tuna and chicken.

I loved everything about this experience. The market tour, picking our own veg, cooking and eating was even better than I expected! The staff were excellent, very good at teaching, sharing and supporting participats. I also loved that the School is a social enterprise, so you are cobtributing to a whole villages economic development.

Such a good cooking class, there was no desire for any of the instructors to rush us. Going through the local food market in the morning was such a good experience and tried so many different foods that I would never try in the first place! After picking fresh all of our ingredients it was amazing to use them all in our meals, made them taste so amazing and one of the best curries I've ever had!! Such a fun instructor, 100% recommended doing this. You get your money's worth.

Great story and relaxing atmosphere. Wayan was a great fun and a good story teller. I was there alone and they just coupled us up and we had great fun in our group. The organic permaculture farm is beautiful and so is the people 🤗 I'd would definitely book my self for another class when I'm back in Bali. Maria from Denmark

There was a group of 7 of us doing the class and we all loved it. We got a tour of the organic farm where we learnt a lot about their produce and got to pick our own vegetables. We cooked 7 courses all of which were delicious. The staff were very helpful and the leader was not only good at teaching us he was funny too! I would definitely recommend.

The cooking class was such a nice experience. At first, we collected our own spices from the farm and then we prepared a delicious meal. Our cooking instructor was so lovely and very funny. We had a great time and would recommend it to everybody!

This was an awesome cooking class. Ironically the food we cooked was probably the best Balinese food we had in Bali! I would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting the island. This is a great way to discover the local culture.

A fun, informative and eye opening experience- a slight touch to cultural cuisine whilst being surrounded by friendly staff and amazing farm set in the middle of the jungle. I highly recommend it!

Great expirience! Great cook who was so good at helping us. We cooked two and two and had our own station and we made 6 dishes at the class. Must try even if your not at great cook you can still do the class.

Market tour, farm walk around and fresh air cooking was awesome, our instructor was awesome too, spoke very good English and had plenty of willing support staff, so we had an awesome experience and highly recommend these guys

I had a fabulous and delicious time. It was interesting to roam around the garden and pick up ingredients for our meals. Also to hear of the problems for growing organic...everything from porcupines to naughty monkeys are trying to steal the food. It was a lot of fun cooking the meal. I learned a lot about Balinese spices and cooking methods. After cooking two recipes, we would sit down and eat. We then did another two dishes and then our chef/teacher Mawa made us a yummy banana dessert. I liked this class because it was out in the country away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. I would highly recommend it!

The whole experience was simply amazing! After we were picked up at our accomodation, we went to a market, where our instructor Made told us a lot about indonesian spices, fruits and vegetables (we also had the opprtunity to taste some of the fruits). On the farm we then picked greens on our own in the beautiful garden. We cooked five main dishes in groups of two, where we could choose between a vegetarian/vegan and a non-vegeterian option (I went there with three friends, so that all of us could taste both by two cooking vegetarian and two non-vegetarian) and a dessert with the whole class (about 14 people). The serving size was generous but the food was so delicious, that we were totally fine with it. Cooking was fun and thanks to Made not that difficult (we'll see if it's that easy, when we try the recipes at home:P). We absolutely enjoyed every part of the class. Tha staff was very friendly and helpful - thanks for the great service! I can only suggest it to everyone, who's in Ubud on holiday!

Been in Bali for nearly 2 weeks now and have done a lot of things all over the island. This is however easily one of the best things I have done. It is an absolute must do!!! You start of by picking the ingredients from their farm and cook with it! The staff are very friendly and the food amazing and not to difficult. Would recommend to anyone! Loved it!

I enjoyed the cooking lesson. Away from the hectic center of town, and a chance to see what makes Ubud famous. Part of the experience is to getting a tour of the garden and getting to hand pick the ingredients ourselve. The dish was easy to prepare and the chef was energetic, funny, smart and spoke excellent English.

Wonderful setting. Instructor and experience is outstanding. Everyone should try this special day.

Amazing experience! We visited the market and spoke a bit about the fruits, and food sold there. Then we headed to the organic farm which is in a quaint village north of Ubud. We picked our vegetables and herbs from the garden, and began the cooking lesson there. Such a peaceful setting! And our teacher, Made, was very patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff there were also so helpful and kind. Everything was so clean, and the presentation of the whole place and table is 5 star. Best part is the little book you get to take home, very well thought of!

I took the class last week, and it was absolutely an awesome class. The teacher was patient and could give a very detailed instruction. He took us to the market and then gave us a tour on the farm, so we could really feel the local atmosphere in the market and picked up the food we needed. All the staff there were friendly and helpful. It's difficult to find full vegetarian food or vegan food in Bali, so I was really impressed, but I do hope there could be more full vegetarian meals--- food without onions and garlic--- for people like me to learn. But anyway, it was a wonderful class, and I'll definitely come back again next time!

I participated the vegetarian cooking class three days ago, and it was fantastic! The teacher took us to the local market and we picked up the vegetables we needed in the organic farm. The environment was great, and the teacher and all the staff there were so friendly and helpful. The food was healthy and tasty. Everything was in good harmony. I enjoyed the class very much. Hopefully they will have more real vegetarian food (the food in their vegetarian class is mostly with onions and garlics). I'll definitely join the class again next time I come to Bali!

Here you find local people with warm hearth, open to introduce you to them culture and cuisine. I learned many things about them vegetat, fruits and receipts. I was also to other cooking classes, but this one is the best! Worth it!

We had a lovely time at Pemulan Bali. Made, our tourguide, and the whole staff were very helpful and friendly. We've experienced a wonderful local market tour with a lot of delicious vegan food. It's easy to change the vegetarian cooking class into a vegan one, so no problem here ;) You'll learn about local vegetables and fruit while visiting the market and the organic farm. Cooking was easy and help was always available. Thank you for a wonderful time and absolutely tasty food :) Great value, for a great price!
