Xin chào! I’m Le Thi Lua. Originally I'm from the North of Vietnam. I have lived in the South for more than 24 years and can cook both North and South Vietnamese dishes. I am passionate about cooking (and eating) healthy food, and also love to travel (I have visited 15 countries and counting!). I first learned to cook when I was five years old. I was often asked to help around the kitchen with small chores and that got me very curious and interested in food and cooking. I learned most of the traditional recipes I cook from my family, and also love experimenting with ingredients and flavors to create my own dishes.

Here are some of the dishes I offer. If there’s something specific you’d love to learn, please let me know at the time of booking.

Bánh xèo - Pancake with chicken/pork/prawn
Phở gà - Chicken noodles soup
Chả giò - Fried spring rolls with chicken/pork

Mì xào bò - Stir-fried noodles with beef
Bánh cuốn - Rice crepe rolls
Gỏi - Mango/papaya/pomelo/cabbage salads
Cơm tấm - Grilled pork and broken rice
Cá kho - Braised fish
Thịt kho - Braised pork
Gà sả ớt - Chicken with lemon grass

We can prepare plant-based versions of the following dishes:

Note:

Open daily, and the time can be flexible. Please reserve in advance and contact us with your preferred schedule.
Market visits can be arranged upon request for an additional fee (please contact us if you would like a market tour).
Guests will cook the same menu together in a home-style setting (no separate stations for each guest).

I loved this class!

It's a cool little apartment in Chinatown. Very clean and bright. Only a few of us were there, but we made Chicken Pho, Papaya salad, and a mix of fillings for the pancake. Easy to follow instructions and very hands-on, prepping prawns, roasting the herbs, and of course flipping the pancakes! Good value for money and lots of fun

Lua's kitchen 💟

Amazing lesson with cheffe Lua! We learnt precisely how to cook 3 recipes and also several variations. The cooking class was very intimate, we had a really great time cooking, chatting and eating. My girlfriend and I recommend it 100%!

Amazing. Flexible to dietary needs

Lua’s class was a great way to taste Vietnamese cooking and to be able to make things we can do at home as well. We learnt about quality ingredients and how to look out for them. She was able to adjust to people’s dietary needs like vegetarian, lower chilli spice or more spice. She sent us the recipes afterwards so I can’t wait to try these at home. This was a really fun afternoon on our holiday in Vietnam.
