What to Expect

From the hands of mamma Maria Pia and the entrepreneurship of Davide, Mamma Corleone sits in the historical centre of Palermo. The facility offers different cooking classes following the Sicilian traditional way of cooking.

With this class, you will learn how to make pasta from scratch following recipes and techniques passed from generation to generation and brought to you in a friendly, Italian home environment. After making the pasta, Maria Pia will patiently show you how to shape and cook meatballs with tomato sauce to accompany your fresh-made pasta. To conclude you will learn how to make a staple of the Sicilian culinary tradition: cannoli, fried pastry dough filled with sweet, creamy ricotta filling.

We will end the class enjoying what you made during the time spent with us.

A fun and informative Italian cooking class!

We love food and took this class for an enjoyable end to our visit to Sicily. It was very informative, fun and the food was delicious! Mamma Corleone timed this class perfectly! First, we made our pistachio dessert so it would chill for after dinner. Next, we prepared a pasta dough. While that rested we prepared eggplant. Then we made meatballs and tomato sauce. We cut the dough into tagliatelle and then put it all together for a wonderful meal of pasta alla Norma. A bottle of wine was opened to add to that authentic dining experience. Lorenzo helped with the English translation and his humor and energy kept this a fun class. All of us consider ourselves pretty good at cooking and walked away with added tips.

This was our favorite activity of our weekend trip to Palermo!

Maria-Pia and Lorenzo are very talented cooks and teachers, and were so friendly and entertaining. We made the best meatballs I've had in my entire life, delicious pasta with eggplant, and an amazing pistachio dessert. It was very authentic, and I would recommend this to any visitor to Palermo. Grazie mille!!

Delicious and fun!

We absolutely loved our cooking class in Palermo! We had so much fun, learnt loads and made the most delicious pasta alla Norma and meatballs!!! We can’t wait to recreate these dishes when we get home!
