Informative, inclusive, fun and tasty.
The whole experience was 10/10. From the Tanah Lot market experience to the incredible cooking experience, then to the guided tour around Tanah Lot. Market experience - A completely unique experience walking through Tanah Lot Market from stall to stall with detailed explanations of all the items for sale. Cooking class - The main focus, an incredibly involving, fun and informative experience. The recipe book perfectly details all the meals made, making it easy to replicate at home! Tanah Lot guided tour - The Tanah Lot guided tour was the cherry on top! The experience was awesome, our funny and witty guide took plenty of photos in all the best spots and also provided plenty of information about the temple and its ceremonies.

Incredible!!
One of the best cooking classes I’ve ever done! We started with a market tour where we were shown all the produces that are used in Balinese cooking. We also sampled some snacks. We then went back to the cooking school where we had a delightful breakfast of Balinese sweets we had never seen before! Every need was taken care of! I highly recommend this cooking class, it was an incredible experience!! Thank you so much!!

Fantastic
We had a great day with Erlinda and her staff and learnt so much. The cooking school setting is beautiful and relaxing. Enjoyed going to the local market in the morning. We were collected from our hotel by Bob who explained different things as we drove along. All in all a fantastic day and well worth it. Thank you Mexx cooking school.

Not just cooking....
The kids and I really enjoyed the cooking course with Erlinda. The food and drinks were delicious. But it is not just about the cooking - the full package left me with a memorable experience. The story of Erlinda and Markus, and how they built their life in Bali is fascinating. Their wonderful home in the middle of herbal plants and fruit trees is a great location for cooking. After the cooking course the visit to the Tanah Lot temple with Erlindas personal attention was great! Pick up from and drop back to Seminyak was very comfortable.

FAQs
Sì, diverse scuole a Tanah Lot offrono opzioni vegane o vegetariane.
Most instructors speak Indonesian and Balinese, but many also offer English or German lessons. You can request a bilingual guide, and some schools provide subtitles or translated recipe sheets.
Before stepping into the kitchen, remember to remove your shoes and wear comfortable clothing. Respect the temple’s sanctity by keeping a quiet tone, and be prepared for the heat and strong spices—Balinese cuisine can be quite fiery.
During the dry season (April to October), you’ll find classes featuring seasonal produce like fresh mangoes, jackfruit, and coconut. Special festival classes are offered around Nyepi, Galungan, and Kuningan, where you’ll learn to prepare celebratory dishes such as lawar and ketupat.
Solo travelers can join group classes to meet fellow foodies, couples can enjoy a romantic cooking session with a private instructor, and families with kids often find kid‑friendly workshops that teach simple dishes like nasi goreng or sweet coconut pancakes.
