Class Description

Enjoy an authentic Japanese cooking experience in Tokyo with a friendly local chef in a warm, home-style kitchen.

In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn how to make traditional maki sushi (sushi rolls), fluffy Japanese omelet (dashimaki tamago), and prepare sushi vinegar (sushi-zu) from scratch. You will also discover the basics of Japanese cooking tools and seasonings while learning about the history and culture of sushi.

This class is specially designed for international visitors to Japan. An English interpreter will be present throughout the lesson, so you can relax, ask questions freely, and fully enjoy the experience even if you do not speak Japanese.

After the cooking lesson, you will visit a local Japanese supermarket together to explore unique ingredients and experience everyday life in Japan — something you cannot enjoy through sightseeing alone.

Lessons are held in small groups or private sessions, allowing for a calm and unhurried pace. The class is suitable for beginners and experienced cooks, and is also perfect for couples, families, and friends traveling together.

• Dashi-Maki Tamago may seem simple, but it actually requires skill. In this class, you'll learn how to make this classic dish using a specialized tamagoyaki pan. You'll master the techniques for rolling and cooking the omelet, enabling you to recreate an authentic flavor at home.

• In this class, you'll make authentic futomaki sushi using freshly prepared sushi rice and high-quality ingredients. We’ll teach you the techniques for rolling sushi and combining ingredients using a bamboo mat. While maki sushi might look easy, it has a lot of depth. It’s perfect for picnics, family events, and home parties. Parents and children can join together to learn and have fun, making it a great opportunity for family bonding and learning about Japanese food culture.
